This book is so much fun! Each story is unique. Light-hearted humor makes the book fun. Great Read alike for Frog and Toad and Mercy Watson.

The Famously Funny Parrot reminds me of a modern day Frog and Toad. Parrot and his butler Peccary solve silly mysteries and have loads of fun together. Children will enjoy their antics. However charming, I did find the illustrations slightly off putting. Parrots have two toes facing forward and two facing backwards (called a zygodactyl or yoke-toed foot). The illustrations show an anisodactyl type of foot and this error distracted from my enjoyment.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children's for the e-ARC for an honest review. This as an absolute pleasure to read.

The Famously Funny Parrott was such a silly and whimsical book.
Divided into 4 chapters, each told by Frederick Haven Parrott III, or Freddie, we get to read about the funny adventures into which Freddie finds himself landing.
A door that knocks on it's own to communicate through knock knock jokes, a waffle thief that may be a little closer to home than Freddie realizes, an eventful car ride and a waffle breakfast extravaganza! Freddie doesn't quite seem to grasp that he is often the cause of his own problems, but rather than being frustrating, this leads to silliness along the way.
The Famously Funny Parrott reminds me quite a bit of Roald Dahl (but kinder) as well as Sideways Stories from Wayside School.
I think this would be a wonderful addition to many elementary school libraries, and specifically targeting the 2nd grade to 5th grade readers. I am looking forward to adding this to my own shelves in the near future.

This is a fun and funny read, full of antics and adventure. For libraries with a strong demand for light-hearted, humorous fantasy.
