I’m rarely speechless but I’m having a really hard time putting my feelings about this book into words. I felt like I was hanging out with good friends I have known for years and years. Except Symes. I hate that guy even more than I did in book 3, Lost Girls. It was so comfortable to slip back in alongside Kim and her team as they worked a case and also very uncomfortable because of how emotional the cases were. As with every book, Angie reminds me why she’s one of my very favorites and how talented she is at keeping me hooked on this series. I don’t know what will happen with the team now but I’m really looking forward to reading about it in her next book! I had to edit this and come back to my review because I just don’t think I’ve done justice to how phenomenal the writing truly is. Angie is on a wholly different plane from other writers. I don’t know if it’s because she has her Julie or what. She cranks out two books per year and it’s STILL NOT ENOUGH!!! I’m so addicted to the Kim Stone series!!!

Six Graves is the latest (and one of the best) Kim Stone stories by Angela Marsons. Kim learns a nemesis has escaped from prison at the same time she is assigned to what looks like three murders and a suicide. Six Graves is the 16th Kim Stone novel but is a stand alone as it has enough background included for a new reader. I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy to review.

Six Graves (Detective Kim Stone Crime Thriller Book 16) by Angela Marsons is another excellent read in the Kim Stone series. I can’t believe that it is Book 16, and that this storyline is as gripping and unpredictable as the first in the series, and all the others really. The storylines, the characters and the tension and menace that builds up in each and every book in the series is unrelenting. And fascinating to read.
I look forward to reading the next in the series. I loved reading the dedication at the beginning of the book and wish the eldest reader good health to read many more in the series.
Highly recommended.

A house fire isn't the usual case for Kim Stone and her team. A family dead in the house? More interesting? Not killed by the fire? Even more so...

When this case proves to be anything but straightforward, the team get stuck in.

But a dangerous psychopath from Kim's past is out to get her, and is prepared to do anything to take her down....

Fantastic

I am just going to say it - Angela Marsons is a very mean writer. She clearly gives no consideration to the mental well being of her audience at all. That is the only possible reason for the opening scene of this latest Kim Stone novel, because it is emotional, jaw dropping and fluffing hell, did it make me hungry to devour the rest of the book. I tore through this in one evening - not an unusual occurrence for me with Kim Stone books, granted - but this had everything I needed and more. Mystery, tension, threat, fast pacing and that perfect amount of intrigue to make me almost tempted to skip to the final chapters just to reassure myself everything would be okay. Almost ...

If you can get past the prologue without fainting or having a cardiac episode, then you will, like Kim and co, find yourself faced with a tragic and somewhat perplexing case of what, initially at least, seems like murder suicide. Almost an entire family lost under very devastating circumstances, with all clues pointing towards the mother as the potential aggressor. But this would be a very short novel if it were all that simple and you know from the minute Kim Stone's special spidey senses start a tingling that something is not quite right with this almost perfectly closed scene. And what faces us and the team is a case that is far more complex and twisted than anyone could have foreseen, with Angela Marsons keeping the revelations and surprises coming at regular intervals, the clues, and the shocks, dropped at just the right moment to keep us all on our toes, especially if you think you've even half a chance of guessing the what, why and wherefores of this particular case.

As if that's not enough, and to be honest, it's a fair old twisting and turning case in its own right, a face from Kim's past makes a very unexpected reappearance turning Kim's whole life upside down. And no - it's probably not who you are thinking. The least said the better in this particular case but it sees the threat and menace levels burst right off the top of the scale and, as foes go, this is possibly one of the worst and most heinous of people Kim has ever had the misfortune to meet. Its an unwelcome distraction to the team, but a very welcome one for readers who, if you're like me, love the kind of dastardly darkness that Angela Marsons excels at drawing into her stories. There are some very uncomfortable moments, scenes that will have you on the edge of the seat, largely thankful that, this far at least, the author never quite goes that dark, but she goes dark enough to make those emotional and nerve-wracking moments really hit home.

It's not all darkness and tension though - don't panic. The book is loaded with the usual banter and humour you might expect, and some of the early scenes in the book, where Kim and co try a little out of the office teamwork, really do make you smile. All of our favourite characters are here where they belong, the camaraderie between Penn and Stacey and the back and forth between Bryant and Kim causing many a smile. Plus there is an unexpected fifth wheel as it were, someone who gives Kim as good as they get and whose very dry and unphased attitude towards Kim's barbs made me laugh on more than one occasion. It's not often Kim Stone gets out manoeuvred and it's fun to see shen she is.

And then there's that ending. The one where we get to understand the full meaning of that fateful, jaw dropping prologue. Gah. I hate, hate, hate the way in which Angela Marsons can so easily manipulate our emotions. There is one particular scene, when we are forced to think of misdemeanours past (the author's that is) where is it nigh on impossible for anyone with a soul, or anyone who loves these characters, to keep their tear ducts in check. I could feel myself welling up. Not helping my reputation as a cold and emotionless reader at all 🤨😉 But it's a perfect way to wrap up what has definitely got to be one of my favourite reads in the series. Those final lines though ... You get that sense of a step change in tone, and maybe even character perhaps, and I'm really intrigued now to see where the author takes the series after this, perhaps Kim's toughest case to date. Most definitely recommended

Oh my days!! Where do I start??
This is an absolute belter of a book and has left me feeling emotional, feeling achy due to it being so tense, and also with headache as I feel I have been holding my breath for so long!
This book comes with a tag line of “heart pounding” and that is absolutely the best way to describe it!
There are two stories running alongside each other in this instalment and one is extremely personal for Kim which comes to one of the most dramatic scenes I’ve ever read! I’ve read a lot of books with harrowing scenes but the one in particular I’m referring to really hit me hard as I felt so drawn into the story and felt so much for the character involved, and the way the author writes it is just out of this world.
I wish I could express how fabulous this book is, and how it will draw you in, but I just don’t have the words to do it enough justice.
Angela Marsons has yet again written an absolutely outstanding book!
Without a doubt this gets the highest of recommendations from me!

Oh wow. This book was just superb. Full of drama, high tension, twists you didn't see coming oh, and some omg moments!!

This book had my emotions all over the place. That prologue was as shocking as it was intriguing. One minute I'm thinking wtf has happened then I'm laughing out loud at Kim and Bryant.

I absolutely love this series. Picking up these books is like catching up with old friends. This is book 16 in the series but it's as fresh and new as the first one.

I tried really hard to take my time to savour every word but I found myself racing through it as we headed towards that heart thumping ending.

I can't praise or recommend these books highly enough. An excellent 5 🌟 thriller.

Just when you think the series can't get any better along comes book 16. The prologue alone had my heart in my mouth and the rest of the book continued in the same vein.
I am so surprised that a TV production team is not on the case to snap up these books, they would make such a great series. Angela's writing just goes from strength to strength
I don't really want to give away any of the storyline as I feel everyone should have Kim Stone series on their kindles or bookshelves.
Needless to say I'm now looking forward to book 17
Many thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and especially Angela Marsons for the opportunity to read this advanced copy. I am not obliged to leave my review
Sadly I can only award 5 stars

I am stating the obvious when I say this is one seriously amazing series. After each book I think it must be nearly impossible to write an even better story, but I can assure you this is one made in heaven.

Fans of this series know Kim is quite a character. She is the best in what she does, but she is not the most friendly person. This time is no different, but I could not help laughing out loud from time to time. Some conversations are really hilarious.

When a blast from the past suddenly appears, Kim wants to work that case, but Woody has put his foot down this time. She will follow his orders or she will have to face the consequences. And knowing Kim, she obeys of course …

Although the author nearly sent me to an early grave, this has to be my favourite book. The story could almost be renamed ‘Seven Graves’. 😉 It’s shocking. It’s gripping. It’s out of this world.

Needless to say I loved it, I suppose? 😊 6 stars (no, this is not a typo 😊 )

Thank you

I really enjoyed this novel. Lots of action and nail biting suspense had me hooked from the very beginning. The author is a great writer with lots of detail and good dialogue. The story itself was interesting and well plotted. Highly recommend and I look forward to reading more from this author!

When it comes to Angela Marson’s, Kim Stone series I don’t even bother with reading what it will be about. It’s just an automatic request/buy. One of the best detective series out there. Fans of this series will not be disappointed in the new installment.

Yes I just got approved for this book, and yes I started it straight away. Sorry to all the other books on my TBR, but when there is a new Kim Stone book I drop everything. And so happy that I did.

Book 16 in this series that just keeps going from strength to strength. After reading the prologue, my emotions were shot and ai needed to know more. I read it in 2 sittings and I feel exhausted.

Kim and her team have a lot going on as always, but never has a Kim needed protection before.. To say that she is not happy about it is an understatement and was entertaining reading. But when there is a killer on the loose who has made it clear that he wants revenge on her, she has no choice. All this while trying to work out why a whole family is dead.. was it a murder/suicide or something more.

Plenty of twist and turns as ever and a book that I could not get enough of. A compelling and clever story. Another easy 5 stars Angela Marsons.

Thanks to Bookouture and a NetGalley for my advanced copy to read.

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. Once again another brilliant book featuring Kim Stone, as always you are drawn into the story from the first page and you just want to read it through to the end. This book was a real roller coaster and I don't believe there are enough superlatives to do it justice, and I cannot wait for the next one.

Where to start with a book like this.
The prologue had me hooked
The story had me holding my breath in places
When I finished the last page I actually sat gob-smacked for a couple of minutes, then went and poured myself a tot of Jack Daniels
Angela Marsons is a great crime thriller writer, and this is undoubtedly my favourite series, but in this story she has elevated her writing to a whole new level

Six Graves is a cracking read with the best prologue I think I've ever read and honestly once I'd got to the end of it I couldn't read the story fast enough. And OMG what a story it is!!!

As Kim and her team are called to investigate the deaths of an entire family. But is it murder/suicide or something far more sinister?

And with twists galore, a killer I did not see coming and an old adversary out to exact revenge on Kim this was a story I COULD NOT PUT DOWN and I personally believe it's the best one yet!

But be prepared to be put through the ringer and make sure you have plenty of free time available to read as when you start you will not be able to stop, it really is that good!!

I would definitely recommend.
