I really can't believe that we are at #16 in this series and the best thing is they just don't get old. Let's all welcome back D. I. Kim Stone and her team. I was chuffed to bits to find this in my inbox and lucky enough to be able to curl up on the sofa with my usual accoutrements (blanket, chocolate and a cuppa) and while away the hours with some old friends. If you're reading this review then that means I've finished reading #SixGraves and am impatiently waiting for #17

From the very beginning we are right in and amongst the thick of the plot, At a housefire 4 bodies, mum, dad and 2 teenage children are discovered, they have gunshot wounds and it appears as if it's a murder suicide perpetrated by their mother, Helen Daynes (makes me think of Kerry Daynes, Forensic Psychologist). Spotting something unusual catches Kim's eye so immediately that the team is called in they put their hearts and souls into using their own niche talents to solving the case as quickly as possible.

As if the case isn't enough to be going on with we find out that Symes has escaped he's back and he's back for Kim, I honestly believe that this evil man will never stop not until he gets what he wants and what he wants is Kim's' head on a stick.. This hatred is from an incident in their past which you'll find that story in book #3 #lostgirls, Because of the intensity of his desire for his revenge it's decided that Kim needs protection, regular readers will know she's no pushover. We saw Kim's more unreasonable side when we discovered who her protection officer was, none other than her arch nemesis Leanne, who in spite of Kim's best efforts did a blinking good job.

I love reading this series, it's nice catching up with the team, seeing how they're all doing, like the rest of us they have issues going on in within their personal personal lives. Bryant has been one of my favourite characters, he's always had Kim's back, even when he doesn't necessarily agree with her. It seems as if something has happened between Bryant and Penn, Bryant's behaviour has changed towards Penn, he's dismissing his ideas and theories it just seems so unlike him. I waited for it to be picked up and it wasn't, which was very unlike Kim, maybe she just had too much on her plate...

I think it would be hard to read these as standalone as there's a wealth of background information about Kim's adversaries not to mention about the team and all their foibles it's probably best to dive right in at the beginning with #SilentScream.

Thanks to the author Ms Marsons, #Netgalley and #Bookouture for my ARC. All opinions are mine and mine alone.

I started these books late and have some older ones to read but I love in investigation style novel. These are brilliant.

This book is gripping right from the start. I really enjoy the connection between this and previous books in the series. When I started reading these I didn't realise there were so many previous books but I didn't feel lost at any point. I think they can be read as standalone but you miss out on certain connections.

I really enjoy a good detective series and this one doesn't disappoint, I plan to read all of the books I have missed so far.

This is book 16 with Kim Stone and still a fantastic read.
Kim Stone is called to a family massacre where, it at first appears, that the mother has killed her family. Whilst Kim is trying to investigate she is given the news that Sykes, killer from a previous case, has escaped and is coming after her.
This was a dark and gritty thriller with all of the team from previous novels. Can’t wait for book 17. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Just Wow! I’m not sure how she does it but just when I think she can’t top her previous novel she goes and blows it out the water!

I absolutely adored this novel as I knew I would. Generally I read a new Angela Marsons book as soon as it’s available on NetGalley but I unfortunately saw a major spoiler a couple of days after it’s release on NetGalley which killed that initial excitement to read it as soon as it was available.

However even though I knew about a major event in the book it didn’t spoil the experience of another Kim Stone novel for me like I thought it would and I do wish I’d still read it when I was going to.

It was in every way as spectacular as all her previous novels and as always this one, once again jumped to my favourite of the series.

With a cracking prologue that draws you instantly in to find out who exactly the culprit is, you can’t help but get excited as you start the next Kim Stone.

Detective mode kicks in as you navigate your way through what you know will be an expertly plotted and well researched storyline, wonderfully created and well developed characters each with a little more insight into their own lives and get to experience the camaraderie between the team with the normal banter and funny quips made by Kim Stone and her team.

The duel storyline of Six Graves has one of the current investigation of a family of four that died which Kim and her team are solving while a search is on for a psychopath out for revenge. It was a complex mix of characters, many suspects and many wow moments with shocks and twists along the way.

If you think of the best review you’ve ever read that’s made you want to read a book, I’m hoping this is it and if you’re not yet an Angela Marsons addict, you should be so go bump the series up your reading list. You won’t regret it!

Side note: Be sure not to refer to previous books and past storylines as it can in fact still be an unintentional spoiler.

I'm beginning to think that Marsons could write a shopping list and i'd give it five stars. Six Graves might be the darkest, most unsettling book yet in this series but it's also the best. The case Kim faces in this is not only highly challenging but it coincides with the escape of a dangrous killer who wants revenge. The stakes were so raised and my heart was racing at the end. Another incredible installment.

Kim Stone is back!!! I jumped on this book as soon as I got it and did not leave it down until it was finished – one sitting, and I can’t believe I have to wait so long for the next one!
A fire has taken the lives of an entire family, once the fire is out and the scene has been investigated it looks like a murder/suicide. The mother holding the gun with her husband and children shot in their sleep. Kim isn’t so sure as the more she investigates this crime the more the doubts creep in. Pile on top of that Symes who has escaped from prison and is looking for payback, Kim has her hands full. Her Team, Bryant, Stacey, and Penn as always keep the energy of the book up with their sharp witticism and banter.
Written in short sharp chapters that keep you saying I’ll just read one more…..your emotional wellbeing will not be all the better for reading this…in the best way possible!

5* absolutely brilliant, Angela Marsons does it again.
Made me gasp out loud! I devour these books, can’t wait for the next one.

I can’t believe that this is the sixteenth book in the series featuring Detective Kim Stone and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Kim is facing a tough case. She and her team are investigating the murder of a family of four and the evidence points to the mother murdering them and then committing suicide. But Kim can’t accept this and things don’t add up so they have to find out exactly what did happen. At the same time Kim has been informed that Symes has escaped from jail and is seeking out Kim for revenge. Symes is a psychopath who Kim managed to blind in one eye and convict him when she rescued two little girls, who he had kidnapped, from an horrific and painful death. He had always vowed to have his revenge and his escape is enabling him to track her down. This book is a fantastic addition to this series with twists and turns right until the end. A brilliant read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Angela Marsons is the best and Kim Stone is by far one of my favourite characters of all time. After reading the first chapter, I walked away from the book going nope nope no way nope. But of course I couldnt stay away. The day I started this, my brother was getting married, I had it open on my phone all the time so i could read a few lines any chance I got. I even left the reception early that night and sat up until 4am in order to finish it. Yes its that good!

Angela Marsons is back with yet another riveting and fast-paced Kim Stone thriller, 'Six Graves'. The book begins with a funeral and instantly raises the question - who is dead and would it be someone whom we have connected with a lot?

In this 16th installment, Detective Kim Stone has to butt heads with two criminals almost at the same time- one is her nemesis Symes, whose jail sentence she is responsible for, and another killer, whose identity is so very elusive that it becomes next to impossible to draw him out.

Symes has vowed revenge on the abrasive detective, in retaliation for her part in putting him behind bars. He manages to escape the prison and is almost too close to the detective than she thinks; he has been plotting his revenge for a very long time and wants to carry it out in the exact way he has already planned - make her suffer before killing her. Just when Stone gets word about Symes' escape, she and her team are pulled into investigate what seems to be a murder-suicide of the Daynes family. She is also forced to contend with the secret agent Leanne King, with whom she had abrasive dealings during a previous case, as she is assigned to protect Stone.

Symes tries to engage Detective Kim by kidnapping two girls and sending her recording of their pleas and screams. Blocked by her boss' orders, Stone is forced to expend all her energy in to the investigation of the Dayneses, after figuring out that it was a murder made to look like a murder-suicide. Who is the person who killed more than half of the Daynes family and what is their motive? Does Stone manage to outwit Symes and rescue the girls or does she get caught in his trap? You will have to read the book to know the answers to these questions.

This is yet another gripping thriller from Angela Marsons which just powers through. The story is taut, crisp and emotionally rich. It contains enough information for the new reader to follow the established storyline, while still giving some new information that will interest an old reader. Marsons has done an excellent job in drawing us in to the tumultuous and restless mind of Kim; however we also feel the sympathy she has for the victims of crimes. The insight she provides into the mind of the psychopathic Symes was both authentic and terrifying; this only makes the story more compelling and the other characters very real.

I like the way she tells a story. Her characters are clearly defined and their growth is properly portrayed too. I had liked the 14th book 'Twisted Lies' very much and happy to say love 'Six Graves' too. She is definitely am author to watch out for.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions provided in this review are my own.

I absolutely love this series!! I love Kim Stone, I love these books!
Each and every one of them are such page turners, you literallty can't put them down. Angela Marsons has done it again with this book. I have enjoyed every single one I have read and I can not wait for the next one!
There were two sub-plots and both were just as page turning as each other, so much was going on that it had just the right pace, it was exciting, riveting, intense. Everything you want in a book like this.

I have not found a Kim Stone book that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed and that I haven't given 5 stars to. If you haven't read any of these books then I highly recommend them, You won't be disappointed at all.

The character development throughout the series is just fantastic. You feel like you really get to know each character and you get invested in their journeys and how they will develop.

An absolutely fantastic read!
