There’s a lot to learn about business and entrepreneurial success from this memoir. The story of how Netflix went from foundering startup to dominant subscription service is fascinating. Mitch had the idea of making a DVD out of President Bill Clinton’s testimony about his affair with Monica Lewinsky. The Netflix guys got huge press lined up for their stunt and signed up thousands of new subscribers. What follows is a high-stakes pre-dawn chase through Northern California attempting to find someone who could get the technology to work, followed by mailing DVDs to all those new signups, operating out of a former bank vault.

I love reading about how company got started and this was a great read!

This quote from the foreword of the book sums up my impression of Mitch Lowe: "I do not know how to do it, but I'll bet I can figure it out."

I have met Mitch in person, listen to his speech and now read his book and I have to say that Mitch is a person I love to learn from. Wonderful spirit and creativity combined with a positive curiosity.

This is a book that I will go back and re-read multiple times (and that is not something I do with a lot of books.)

I think you will be just as inspired as I was by Mitch creativity, but also by how the stories he tells remind us all about the power that comes from making friends in your industry,

Watch and learn is the perfect title for this book. I hope you will get it and do just that.

Mitch Lowe is a legend in Hollywood and in the tech world. In addition to being # 3 at Netflix, he founded Redbox and then was CEO of MoviePass (and nearly got that company turned around). Mitch has nearly done it all, sometimes with great results, sometimes with mixed results and sometimes, well it's not always gonna be Netflix, right? Mitch shares his immense experience and insights with us in his new book, 'Watch and Learn." This is a must have for anyone who wants to better understand the entertainment revolution that has already happened and more importantly, the entertainment we are going through now and the one on the horizon.

Lessons in the book include that creating disruption does not only rely on massive change. Mitch teaches that in order to disrupt, you and your team need tenacity, grit, creativity and to always seek to learn and get to the core of what your customers want. Lowe shares inside stories on the tectonic shifts in the entertainment biz over each era and he also lets us behind the curtain of his own life, which is quite fascinating. Bottom line, when I grow up, I want to be Mitch.

Get the book, you'll be glad you did.
