Clare Sawyer has recently changed jobs and is now working at the University of Washington's police department. Her first day is a little rocky and from there a murder occurs on campus. Clare's fellow officers are waiting to see how badly she fails on the investigation.
Across campus Libby Hart enjoys teaching about historical buildings and doesn't wander far from campus. Now they've met and Clare is getting a crash course in on the history of the university while searching for a killer. They're going to spend more time together especially as it seems the killer may be headed in Libby's direction.
This mystery romance is a delightful read.

First book from this author. She writes mysteries well so I will be checking out her other books. I enjoyed this read, there’s a bit of humor in it and the characters were well developed. It has a good pace. Highly recommend it

Officer Clare just start to settle in her new job when a murder concur and she and her reluctant partner Cappy are task to finding out who will murder professor Jimmy Turnbow. Libby is a professor at the University when her friends ask her to break out of her routine to come out of her comfort zone she meets Clare and they hit it off and she decides to help Clare with the investigation.

I enjoy this read I love the banter that Clare and Libby had it’s was so cute that they only know each other for short time but it’s felt like they knew each other for years. I like Libby friends and Clare friends. I like that Cappy warm up to Clare and I was surprise who the murder was why they did it. This could easily be on the Hallmark Movie & Mysteries.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Enjoyable story. Nice bits of humour in the banter between characters. A "Whodunnit" story as well. I quite like most of Karis Walsh's stories. There is the odd one that is not my style but that's because of the storyline not the writing. It would be quite good to have more campus stories about the other main characters.

I love a good academic murder, add in sapphics and I'm sold. The plot of this book was incredible and I had no idea what the plot twist at the end was going to be, which is rare for me. So bravo for that! However I feel like a significant amount of the writing in this book is superfluous and could benefit from judicious editing. I also felt like one of the main characters came across as immature in a way that was not intended. I did read this book in one sitting so that says how intriguing the plot was, and the descriptions of architecture and the symbolism attached to the mystery was exceptional.

I was surprised on the who done it. The romance was ok, although there were no steamy scenes there was intimate ones. There is also quite a bit of architecture that is pretty descriptive.
