*Scotsman in the Stacks* by Alana Oxford is a lighthearted, cozy rom-com that delivers exactly what the title promises—a charming Scottish hero, a bookish setting, and plenty of feel-good moments. The story follows literature-loving librarian Emerson, who isn’t looking for love, but then she meets a ruggedly handsome Scotsman who seems straight out of a romance novel. Their chemistry is undeniable, and sparks fly between book stacks and coffee dates.
The book is sweet, funny, and full of bookish charm, making it a perfect escape read. The romance is wholesome, and the banter keeps things engaging. That said, the story leans a little too heavily into the "perfect love interest" trope, making the conflict feel minimal and the stakes pretty low. Some readers might wish for a bit more depth. Still, if you’re in the mood for a warm, feel-good romance with a swoon-worthy Scottish hero, this one is a delightful pick!

Scotsman in the Stacks by Alana Oxford is a sweet, light romance that’s perfect for a cozy afternoon read. The charming librarian-meets-Scottish professor premise is fun, and the small-town vibe adds to the charm. While it’s a bit predictable and slow at times, the characters are endearing, and the story is heartwarming. If you’re in the mood for a feel-good, low-stakes romance, this one is worth picking up!

This book was cute and funny, and the main characters were very relatable. It was a quick read (which I wanted), but it didn’t get too deep. I was in the mood for this kind of book though, so I was happy with it.

This story kind of fell flat for me. I didn’t find the characters to be that interesting and didn’t really feel a good connection between the two.

I tried with this book, seeing that my obsession with Jamie Fraser got the best of me when I was requesting this book.
The writing style was not for me, and at times I got tired of James' lines. There's only so much Scottish verbatim I can endure (even loving the accent!).
There was nothing wrong with the story itself, I just didn't connect to it.

Alana Oxford’s Scotsman in the Stacks is a delightful romance that brings together a spirited female librarian and a charming Scottish visitor in a cozy library setting. The story is filled with warmth, humor, and a dash of adventure as their paths intertwine.
Oxford’s writing is engaging and witty, making the characters feel relatable and vibrant. The chemistry between the leads is captivating, creating an enchanting dynamic that keeps you turning the pages.
With its charming premise and heartwarming moments, Scotsman in the Stacks is a delightful read that will leave you with a smile. A must-read for any romance lover! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The story maintains a clean tone, with the romance focusing more on emotional connection than physical chemistry. The light, heartwarming narrative makes it an enjoyable read, particularly for those who appreciate sweet, low-drama romances. Overall, Scotsman in the Stacks is a short and delightful read for romance lovers who enjoy charming small-town settings and a dash of cross-cultural love.

The love interests didn't have chemistry, so I quickly lost interest and the slang was so overdone I was annoyed most of the time.

The premise was adorable - bookish main characters in books are always a lovely meta experience for me. And I love an FMC that learns to recognize her worth and stands for what she wants. And if the boyfriend can't be what she needs, she's absolutely right to kick him to the curb.
I enjoyed that there was drama, without it being blown out of proportion. The conflicts felt realistic, which is refreshing in romance. Often even if the characters are more grown up the drama feels like listening to 14-year-olds in their first relationship. That being said, perhaps the characters got along a little too well and the scenes sometimes felt somewhat stagnant. Conflict and resolutions are what makes the characters interesting and builds their relationship.

This book was good, but it definitely was too risqué for me and lacked a plot. I will not be posting

a charming romance but ultimately one that didn't engage me enough to continue with. Thank you to the publisher for the ARC.

Unfortunately, I did not find myself caring to finish this one. The love interests didn't have chemistry so I quickly lost interest. Thank you for the advanced copy.

I will love anything that has a Scottsman as the love interest—thanks, Outlander!
This book was okay. I just wasn’t super invested.

I wanted to like this, but the slang was so overdone I was annoyed most of the time. and i didn't really feel the chemeisty

Oof, this was a tough one. Obviously it took me awhile to pick up this book. But unfortunately, I couldn't get into it. I wasn't invested in the characters or their story at all, and I didn't vibe with the writing style. This just wasn't for me, which is unfortunate when I had it hanging out for so long...

A light read that was easy to get through. This was a great book to read for anyone needing a pick me up. The main charcters are lovable and they will quickly grow on you. A great story about finding love at any stage.

I was NOT a fan of the artwork on this cover. It kinda creeped me out. That being said, the book was really great and the humor mixed throughout had me laughing out loud.
