A chilling, clever psychological thriller that explores the pressure of perfection in parenting. It's a sharp critique of social status and appearances, wrapped in a tense, twisty story. The slow build-up leads to a jaw-dropping finale. Fans of Big Little Lies will love this one

I regret taking so long to read this book, as it was such a fun twisty thriller! Everyone in it is terrible in the most delicious ways and I loved our unreliable narrator. My jaw fell to the floor several times and I'm excited to read future books by Helen Monks Takhar.

This book had my head spinning! A slow burn but once it got going it didn't stop til the end!! I hated pretty much every single character but it definitely didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the story!

In Helen Monks Takhar's *Such a Good Mother*, readers are plunged into the seemingly perfect world of Rose O’Connell, a mother desperate to fit in with an elite community. The novel explores themes of ambition and societal pressure, as Rose navigates the treacherous waters of privilege and deceit. The characters are enigmatically unreliable, their true intentions shrouded in mystery, adding layers of intrigue. With a plot that unfolds at a breathless pace, this psychological thriller grips readers from start to finish. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a dark, twisty tale of ambition gone awry and the lengths one will go to belong.

Such an amazing, thrilling story of a mothers love and how far they will go for their children. Whoo this book kept me on the edge of my seat until the last page.

The plot and cover really got me! I was so intrigued by the elite academia + mom drama - had high expectations like Big Little Lies. This was "good." The story was interesting and the characters did appeal to me. However, it felt very slow and took me an unusually long time to read. The ending was satisfying but the lead up to it left me with a 'wtf' feeling. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it is not on my list of top reads.

Think Liane Moriarty but way worse. This book was boring and tiring. I couldn’t get through it all. Would not recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. A truly enjoyable novel that most mothers and women could relate to and even see themselves in, if given the right time. An enjoyable read start to finish.

I dove into this mom-and-neighbor murder mystery book with high hopes, but the more I read, the more I felt like I was stuck in a lukewarm bubble bath. The plot started with a bang, but the middle bit lost its sparkle, leaving me feeling a bit "meh."
Our lead gal, Rosie O'Connell, is juggling a lot - a stressed-out kid, a rocky marriage, a home that's a hot mess, and a job that's a snooze-fest. All she wants is to join the Circle - a team of picture-perfect moms who have all the power at Woolf Academy, making sure their kiddos succeed.
When one of the Circle's members passes away, their leader, Amala Kaur, invites Rosie to join the gang. Over the moon about the opportunity to upgrade her family's life, Rosie jumps at the chance. But, as she delves deeper into the Circle's secrets, she realizes it might be her biggest blunder yet.
Big thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me have a sneak peek in exchange for an honest review!

I have tried and tried to read this poor book. The synopsis is great! But my goodness the book. I can't get into it. The main character is has no self esteem or confidence and everyone else in the neighborhood is just horrible. I guess in that way it's great! The characters are written so horrible they're unlikable. I feel awful but this one just isn't for me.

I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley, Random House, and Helen Monks Takhar. 🩷

This story still hasn’t drawn me in at 50% read. I’m not interested and the main character is so boring and has zero self esteem. Jaq is the only nice one and all the other moms are straight from Mean Girls. This story is not for me.

I love a good domestic thriller, and this one had some major shocking twists! However, one of the characters was just too unlikable for me (Amala), and I found the whole story line unrealistic. I don't usually judge a book on this aspect since I read to be entertained, but the plot had some major holes making it a little too outlandish for me to feel fully engaged in the story. The ending did pull things together a little bit, and I appreciated the final chapters!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of the book that I did not read in time. The book had me hooked at times, but at other times I could not get into things. It is a different kind of book that I think you need to be in the mood to read.

This book did not do it for me but I absolutely know it will for others. I just wasn't in the mood . That said- compelling. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher!

The things we do for our children. This book had me engrossed. I had to know what was going to happen next. You will hate the antagonist and question the protagonist’s sanity. By the end, it will all make some kind of sense.

I recommend you get ready for the emotional ups and downs - from happy to angry to sad to laughing.

This was not for me. It felt way too similar to other "housewife" style thrillers. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the genre but it was a struggle to get through this one. I didn't connect with the characters and there wasn't anything overly memorable in the plot.

This was an average read for me because it was so similar to other books I've read lately but not as well done. When Rosie's son starts at the prestigious Wolff Academy, Rosie finds herself happy to join an elite group of Wolff Academy moms called The Circle. Being in The Circle would afford Rosie lots of opportunities to advance her standing in the community, so she is beyond excited to receive an invitation to join from the group's leader. As Rosie gets closer to her fellow Circle members she realizes the grass is not always greener on the other side. How far would you go for your family?

"Such A Good Mother" starts out strong and catches your interest from the start. The middle dragged and the characters were aggravating me. I kept putting the book down disgusted. More private school drama than I want to read.
I am glad I kept reading. Chapter 39 took a big turn and then I loved all the big reveals. All of a sudden it went, Gone Girl.
This galley was given to me by NetGalley.

I really wanted to love this one, because I am a sucker for a good murder, lies and secrets type book, but I felt this one just didn't do it for me. It felt slow and just stagnant. and did not keep my attention. I would put it down and come back to it thinking I just wasn't in the right headspace for it, but it just couldn't keep my attention.

This book definately took me on a ride around twists. I re read some chapters afterward to see if I could find clues leading up to the ending (which I was not expecting). I loved the character development and felt like I really knew them.
