Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange of my honest opinion.
I have been lucky enough to meet my four Grandparents, so I cannot really put myself in the position our main character is.
However, if that hadn't been the situation, I would have loved my family to talk about them the same way they do in this picture book.
I would have liked to know how they were, what they liked, what they used to do, what their hobbies were, etc.
I think this book is great for kids that haven't had the opportunity to meet some member of their family! Sweet but real, I adored this read!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a digital ARC of this book!
A young girl has never met her grandfather. She's heard about him, but never had a chance to meet him before he passed away. But that doesn't mean she will never know him...
This is a sweet story. As someone who only met her grandpa as a newborn, I understand the feeling of missing someone you never knew. Some parts rhyme, while others do not, which is a little jarring. However, it has a touching message and is easy to understand. I believe many young children will appreciate this story.

I often times read children’s books because it is just a fun thing to do! I was drawn to this one because I never met either of my grandparents and often wondered what they were like as I was growing up. This book is full of beautiful illustrations that will keep children engaged and it is a great way to introduce a different way of getting to know the grandparents you never met. As an adult, I often spoke to my Mother about my grandparents as a way to get to know them and now that she has passed away, I will be able to use the ideas in this book to keep her memory alive for her own grandkids that met her and the ones that weren’t lucky enough to meet her in person.

A heartwarming, inspiring, tale of a young girl who very much wants to "know" the grandfather who passed before her birth. She and her parents keep his memory alive by frequent discussions, photos, and activities. A great book for children or us young at heart!
