This is the exact type of book that I am a sucker for. Short, quick entries on a lot of things to help with a team. Mainly written with a sports focus, but can definitely be tweaked to look at chemistry for work teams as well!

I picked up this book without reading the subtitles too closely - it reads: "30 Elements for Coaches to Foster Cohesion, Strengthen Communication Skills, and Create a Healthy Sport Culture" This is an apt description and it centers around tips to create a cohesive team. While I am not in a position to coach a sports team, I lead a group of people in a corporate work environment and many of the advices are applicable for anyone who are in a position to lead a group of people. The authors took four years breaking down complex structures which would make up teams into 30 elements. I really liked that some of the tips are up to date with inclusion of all team members of different genders and sexual orientation in mind. Today, it is really important to be aware of what would be politically incorrect as a leader. I also really liked how easy to understand each elements. It is very hard to write a concise book which is easily understood - and here is one.

I felt this book was well above my expectations (and I read a lot of self help/business books). I would recommend this book to: any managers and coaches who can influence or lead a team, including mothers and fathers.

“Team Chemistry” is a great book for anyone working or volunteering in sports, no matter the proficiency level! The audiobook is split into 36 sections and, besides being fairly easy to listen to, it also covers a wide variety of topics which are useful to know for any coach: how to address the team members during a crisis, how to keep morale up when the odds seem against your team, and most importantly, it focuses on a set of rules and best practices that coaches should adopt if they are to succeed in their activity.

Special thanks to NetGalley, ECW Press Audio, and the editorial team for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC in audiobook format and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.
