I received this book as an ARC and this is my review. Reading this story is much like (I imagine) tripping on psychedelics! It is loaded with blasting color and sound. The characters are beyond the imagination and the twists are endless. Readers will enjoy this book if they appreciate incredibly colorful situations punctuated by amazing bursts of illusion.

This book was jam-packed with genres and tropes: science fiction fantasy reluctant savior of the universe. I struggled with it particularly because every female introduced was reduced to her sexualized body parts. The story was a rapid-fire of disjointed details that my brain had to work to connect.

DNF'd at about 10% most of what I did read was incomprehensible. The reader is thrown into what feels like the middle of something they should have already of been familiar with. There was no real description of the basic who, what, where, when, and why, which isn't a deal breaker but on top of all that the writing is just odd and didn't work for me.

First off, I did not realize how old this book was when I got it from Netgalley. That was my bad.

Second off, I should have dnf'd instead of going to the end, also my bad.

This has a freaking awesome premise. Sort of a sci-fi horror with otherwordly elements? Sign me up please.

But when the premise and the quotes at the beginning of each chapter is the best parts, then something is seriously wrong.

First book of a space opera. Well developed characters. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

Um... what? I was so lost and confused by this book.

I loved the Wildfire character, very reminiscent of Harley Quinn. Nightstalker was badass, but depressing. There were so many viewpoints and stories in this book, I was lost by chapter 3.

Interesting writing, but convoluted and jumbled.

Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. All opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dark Light Publishing for providing the ARC.

I read roughly twenty percent of this book before throwing in the towel. Although the initial summary and setting struck me as fascinating, I found the overall execution to be nigh incomprehensible. People's names, locations, terms and acronyms were introduced at such a blistering pace I was unable to process them while keeping up with the story. Although I generally enjoy being thrust into a story where the reader is expected to learn the lingo and rules as they go along, there were multiple instances where I had to double check that this was the first book in the series and that I hadn't missed some crucial information I was expected to know. While the concept remains interesting, I would not recommend this book.

The story revolves around two saviors and the factions behind them. The human savior, Kevin, has always heard he was destined for great things, but he never believed it. The shapeshifter savior, Daren, was orphaned at birth and is learning she has amazing powers.

This is a science-fiction novel with some fantastical elements thrown in. There are a few parts that read like a philosophy textbook. I feel like the characters were hit or miss. I really liked Daren and the development of her character. I had a hard time enjoying Kevin because we learn about his background, and then it feels like his character hit a wall with development. I had a really hard time at the end of Kevin’s story because we don’t really get the motivation behind his choice. It feels like it just happens to provide shock value. It invalidated the whole prior story. Daren’s chapters read like a contemporary novel, while Kevin’s chapters are heavy on philosophy and are very wordy.
Overall, I really like the plot and the basis of the story. The premise reminded me of elements of the Matrix, the Magicians, Star Wars, and Dante’s Inferno. The pacing is quick for the most part, but it tends to hit walls when the philosophical parts arrive. I really like the writing style the GR Morris has it’s generally descriptive and easy to follow.

I would recommend this book to heavy science fiction readers. It’s got a hodgepodge of different elements and genres thrown in, but the science-fiction readers would likely get the most enjoyment.

So, there was a strong possibilty of a good story here... standard(ish) good vs. evil trope, a chosen one trope, mixed together with a heaping helping of existential philosophy.

But the writing. I just couldn't stand the writing! It was like trying to read a classic as portrayed by a slasher movie. Can it be done? Sure... but why would you?

With a fragmented storyline, start-and-stop narrative, and extremely odd conversation that seems like a nightmare talk show, I was routinely taken out of the story, left rereading pieces of dialog and trying to parse what was going on. Seriously... it makes John Dies at the End look downright cogent. And as good as a multiple-savior story could have been, for me it ruined it.

Honestly, for a book about saviors, this was missing one of it's own... and editor.

My thanks, though, to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Though-provoking, intensive and well written. 'Tomorrow's End', is everything you look for in a good Sci-Horror novel. One that will enrapture you, and make you think of real world consequences. I truly loved reading this book.
Praise for a well thought-out, well captured idea that screams masterpiece!

From the summary to the tone of the book, it seemed right up my interests. However, the writing and characters made an interesting premise dull and unbearable at times. The characters seemed like caricatures than actual people, what with their conversations going from naturally poignant to almost forced. Philosophy/religion being explored in science fiction is something I enjoy reading but not at a very 'tell' manner if it makes sense. Such a shame, as I was looking forward to it.

The concept of this book is very interesting and immediately drew me in. Sadly, I'm unable to connect with the writing style. I did not feel anchored in the story and my confusion only increased the further I read.

Very much looking forward to this read, Look at that cover? I will be posting about this on my next video discussing Souls-Like book recommendations comparable to FromSoftware games. Thank you, Net Galley, for providing me with an ARC!

Reading the synopsis of this book, it sounded right up my alley. After starting the first chapter I realized this couldn't be further from the truth. I don't give 1-star reviews lightly, but this book stuck with me in the worst way.

The book description promises action, and yes, there is plenty. However there is also an egregious amount of gore and an excess of strange ideas that don't quite fit together in a story. Further, the author seems to struggle with writing realistic women. The story opens with a quirky Harley Quinn-knockoff torturing another character, complete with cringey dialogue and wannabe one-liners. I found myself disturbed, and not just because of the graphic torture. The writing itself leaves much to be desired; the entire book could use some heavy editing. Some passages are confusing or downright unreadable. I wish I could have enjoyed this story but unfortunately, there were too many poor elements that overshadowed any good ideas this author may have had.
