Get ready, this is another one of those books that will make you cry just based on the title. This one is all about the unflinching depths of a mother’s love for her child, and the sheer power and limitlessness of that love. This is a love that will never end. And neither will your tears once you start it.

This book is cute, but the rhyming felt a bit sticky. While I enjoyed reading it once with my kids, this isn’t one we’ll be rereading daily like many others.

This was such a sweet book and would be perfect for any mother.

The illustrations were cute and as I was reading the story to my 7 year old he kept saying “mommy you do that!” Or “mommy, I do that too!” It just made me smile and made my heart melt. ❤️

It’s a sweet book and I absolutely recommend that you check it out.

This was OK. A nice story but left something to be desired. I would suggest laying the text out so the rhymes fall on separate lines vs being in sentence format. It makes reading out loud easier when you have the formatting presented exactly how you want it articulated. The graphics were also choppy (person style preference).

The core message is a sweet one, but the rhyming felt forced at multiple parts and the illustrations were distracting, especially with the words being included as part of the illustration with just a shadow to offset them instead of them being separate.

Thanks to Netgalley and Fulton Books for a free digital copy.

A cute book about a mom's love and trying to help her son understand how all encompassing it is. I didn't love it because it felt a bit too formulaic. And I don't think it's very rereadable for kids.

I thought this book was ok. The pictures that went with the book were well done, and really colorful.

Overall, I may read more by this author.

I love this sweet book about how much a mother loves her son. It’s rhyming prose is a delightful way to express the story of how this mom came to love her son an armful. This is an excellent example of a mother who truly put her children first in every situation.

Every child needs love to grow and flourish, but to hear a parent express this love verbally is the cherry on top the sundae. When a child feels loved, they can grow to be the best version of themselves.

The illustrations are bright and colorful, sweet and simple, yet exceptionally detailed. The home that they display in the drawings appears to be a loving snuggly environment for a child to grow up in.

This book reminds me of a 1950’story of June Cleaver. I’m afraid our world has continually moved further and further away from this family model.

The best place for this book would be on every child’s, grandparents, pre-school, and early elementary bookshelf. Even though this book is geared for the 5 – 9 -year-olds, I think younger and even older children would indeed cherish it. This is a wonderful book to be handed down through the generations.

I received this advanced reader’s copy from the Author/Illustrator Patricia Jo Murray, Bright Yellow Sun Books of Fulton Books, and NetGalley. This is a voluntary review, and all comments and opinions are entirely my own.

This was so heartfelt and nostalgic for me. It reminded me a lot of the iconic "Ill Love You Forever" children's book. I LOVED the dog in the photos. Including the dog was so fun and meaningful and I loved the photos of the dog curled up in the bed with the boy and his mom. My only critic is the part that says "like graduating from school or marrying your wife". I wish this said something like marrying your spouse or something of that nature to not promote heteronormativity at such a young age. Maybe he'll marry his husband. :) Other than that, I thought this was such a sweet children's book.

This was absolutely adorable. I enjoyed this book so much, especially since I'm a single mother of a boy. My son enjoyed this story, he kept grinning so big during the "armful" parts. I think this book is a beautiful story that all mothers and children can relate to. I liked how it was a mother and son combination in the illustration as it's not usually, so it helps my son relate to it even more.

I absolutely loved this story of a mother's unconditional love. I believe it was written very well and in a way easy for a child to understand, even one as young as possibly 3. The illustrations were also really well done and went perfectly with the narration. Absolutely a book to read to a child of any age; a wonderful bedtime story!

This is a sweet story about a child coming to understand their mother’s love for them. It has a big heart, and is told in a really touching, soft, and relatable way. The story is straightforward, and is probably best suited as a way to way to frame a conversation around familial love, and to reassure a child that they will always be loved. However, the story itself is not interesting or exciting. This is certainly a good resource for parents, and libraries, booksellers, or parents looking for this kind of resource won’t go wrong here, but for an interesting, fun, or exciting story, best to look elsewhere.

This is a book that every Mother and child should read together!! I don't have children myself, but read this to the kids that live next door, and afterward, they couldn't wait to go home and tell their Mother all about it and give her a BIG hug. to let her know that they will always love her. The story even brought tears to my eyes as I lost my own Mother three years ago and even though I am a grown adult, the bond between Mother and child never goes away, even in death.

I recommend this to all Mothers and have bought copies for my friends that have children.

This book offers the heartwarming message of a mother giving her beloved son unconditional love and the promise that she will always deliver that message with her arms wrapped tightly around him.

This tender book helps children understand how deep a mother's love really is.... she's in it for always. The author lets the reader eavesdrop into an intimate bedtime conversation when a mother explains how she loves her child an 'armful' - arms that will cradle and hug him as he grows, learns new things and achieves his goals in life. It is a vow to her child that she is committed to be there for him all through his life's journey. a

The illustrations are beautiful and the message powerful. It is a perfect reminder that assures little ones how much they are loved and how precious they are. I highly recommend it.

I read children’s book with my service dog,

He loved this one, he love the dog in the story. He cuddled every time the mom explain things knowing what she meant.

Great book for all young kids. Highly recommend

A cute tale for mothers to read to their children, it was lacking in some areas. The rhyming was a little long and clunky at times and I wasn't a huge fan of the illustrations. They came off as heavily computer generated but in a digital painting sort of program. I also wasn't a fan of the white shadow behind the text, which made it hard to read at times.

Overall, the message was adorable. A great reminder that a mother's love never fades and it only grows stronger year after year. This is a cute way to tell children that their mother always loves them and their arms can wrap around their children as they carry them or hug them because their arms are filled with love.

The story and message in "I Love You An Armful" by Patricia Jo Murray are lovely. I tell my kids about 100 times a day that I love them no matter what, and this book gives me another opportunity to do that. The illustrations are little bit lacking which is why I gave this book four stars instead of five.
