I’m in love. A sucker for any book about books, reading and libraries, when I saw this title and the beautiful cover I knew I had to take a look. The story is about Julia, who forgot a book to read to her animal friends while camping. Another friend shows up and they travel to an overnight library (yes, please!). The story is super, the illustrations breathtaking. Annnd, at the end you get a QR code for a song to accompany the book! Many thanks to NetGalley for this must-buy little book!

This book was sooooo good. And Cute. The illustrations were really amazing and the story was really enjoyable. Although just because it's addressed in kids it shouldn't be a child alone in the woods, without it's parents. So other than that, it was really good.

I thought that this was an enjoyable book

The story was easy to follow and it was fun to read with my daughter

She thought it was really fun and loved being able to help – she is now 5 and has recently learnt to read and she was able to join in and that made it even more enjoyable for us

The illustrations are lovely and they really bring the story to life

It is four stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

** “It’s the perfect place to dig for page-turners, sublime rhymes and other treasures.” **

“A Starlit Trip to the Library” by Andrew Katz and Juliana Leveille-Trudel and illustrated by Joseph Sherman is a beautiful story that will quickly become a family favorite.

Julia and her furry friends Frieda, Abigail and Scotty are having a lovely camping trip, until Julia realizes she forgot to bring a bedtime story. Luckily, her friend Betrand the Bear comes along and saves the day … with a trip to the library. He’s on his way to find some delightful books and brings along the others so they can find the perfect bedtime story.

“A Starlit Trip to the Library” celebrates the treasure that libraries are, while also instilling the value of friendship and teamwork. Filled with gorgeous illustrations, it also teaches us about using the stars to navigate if we just look to the skies.

The book also contains two resources at the end: an explanation of constellations and their use throughout history, and a song for Julia that readers can actually listen to by scanning a QR code.

Readers of all ages will absolutely delight in “A Starlit Trip to the Library,” which is due out Oct. 18.

Five stars out of five.

A Starlit Trip to the Library is a fun picture book about a girl and her animal friends who take an evening trip to the library. When the group did not pack a book to read during their campout, they set sail with Bertrand the bear in search of a bedtime story. Bertrand’s voice was unique and a great one to read-aloud! I liked how the group problem-solved along their way. I would recommend this book to K-2 educators, librarians and parents.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Crackboom! Books for an ARC of this book.

Beautifully done from the cover to the last page. This is a short, incredibly illustrated story where the characters are seeking a bedtime story book. They head to the library where they find a wise old librarian.

I would recommend having this at a grandparents house, and in a babysitter's arsenal, as well as a gift to a child.

I had the E-book to review and cannot speak on the quality of paper.

This is such a cute, wholesome, love letter to stories and libraries that I think kids can really connect with. I loved Bertrand the bear and his pirate-y Sherlock Holmes personality.

I absolutely love the pages at the end of the book - I love interactive storytelling and having the the bit on constellations, plus the next page with a song and a QR code to listen to the song ?? So cute and innovative.

This book was so sweet! I loved the illustrations. They made the story come to life. Some of the words were too big for my daughter to understand, so there was some explanation our first time through. I enjoyed the addition of constellations; we are big fans of stargazing.

As a huge fan of the public library (we are weekly visitors), I just adored this book. We will definitely purchase this one.

This is a sweet story about a girl camping with her animal friends. They love when she reads them bedtime stories but she forgot her book. Luckily Bertrand the bear comes to take them to the library to pick up new ones and they have an adventure on the way and get to stargaze. I loved the message of figuring out the constellations and making it an adventure to go get a library book. It's great to promote libraries for younger kids. I liked the message from the authors at the end about libraries too. The illustrations were beautiful.

Gorgeous illustrations. Great characters. Light adventure. A fun story that children and adults will both enjoy. Lots of words to help build vocabulary as well.

A charming tale with adorable illustrations, this whimsical story shares the adventures of Julia and her friends when she goes camping with them only to discover that night at the campfire that she forgot a book. What is a bedtime bonfire without a bedtime story.

Bertrand, the bear who loves to read, makes his appearance in this story. He has a whole book all about him too that you can read before hand. Julia has to decide if she wants to be brave and go on adventure to hunt down a library book to read.

This story was both entertaining and educational, which can be a tricky balance to maintain in a children’s book, and I will be suggesting it to teachers whenever possible. The artwork was amazing on its own, with incredible detail paid to the smallest things, such as the night sky. There is even a song at the end that goes along with the book. This book shares the power and the sheer joy of reading, the magic of books, while celebrating the wonderful location called the local library.

Has there ever been a book you were reading that you wish you could jump inside of? This is 100000% THE BOOK I'd love to climb aboard- when other reviewers mentioned the illustrations were brilliant, they were not joking. I've seen LOADS of amazing artwork in books, but these take the cake. Immensely vivid, unique and cozy- the way the illustrator used their style to create such rich and loveable characters- CHEF'S KISS!!!

The story was sweet and I loved the witty language and humor thrown in. While a lot of the words may be too sophisticated for young readers/listeners, I think young kids will love this adventure tale regardless. I can just picture the reader making voices for all the characters- especially Bertrand...he needs a gruff voice with a pirate accent to accompany his sea-faring jest.

Again, I cannot stress enough that I legit want to live in this book so if someone can make that happen I would be forever grateful. Kthanks! ;-)

A thousand percent would recommend, especially as a bedtime story which will also be relatable to the crew in the story seeking just that!

Stunning! Believe me when I say this is one of the most beautifully illustrated books I've ever seen. The artwork is brimming with life and I loved admiring the night sky so much. Overall, it's a fun read about embarking on a trip to the library even if I didn't find the story particularly engaging. It's also a beautiful ode to libraries that will appeal to kids.

When Julia settles in for a bedtime story when camping with her friends, she is aghast to discover she has forgotten her book! But soon her friend Bertram Bear saves the day and takes them on an adventure his boat down the river to the secret night library.

This is a sweet little book about stories. About the comfort of friendship and stories they can relate to. It is perfect for bedtime reading with little ones.

Julia and her animal friends are having a camping night under the stars but Julia can’t find her book. But then a bear named Bertrande shows up and takes them on a nighttime adventure to the night library to get a book. This is a charming little story about friendship, adventure, and reading. The illustrations were very enticing and drew me into the story. The plot was well written and had a great ending. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

This is such an adorable story. Julia is out camping with her furry friends, roasting acorns, making dandelion crowns and decorating their camping spot. Bedtime rolls around and Julia can't find her bedtime story book.

The illustrations throughout the story are eye catching and vibrant. The small details and the constellations truly leave an impression. The characters are cute and add so much to the story of friendships and fun.
A great story to read at bedtime while snuggled up with the family.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
