"All the Families in My Town" is an adorable and beautiful childrens illustrated book. It's a short childrens book that talks about all the different types of families, all from LGBTQIA+ families, to disabled families. It's an absolutely fantastic book and the art style is just wonderful.

There is so much amazing repressentation in this book, who brings up how different families can look, and they're still a family. It was just an all over wonderful read and I would definately read this to my children if I had any.

The writing was really nice, although from someone who's first language isn't English, I feel like there were a few difficult words for children who's just started learning English.

Regardless, I will deffinately recommend this book to people, especially my mom, who's an elementary school teacher. I really think she'd love it.

The illustrations are absolutely beautiful!! This is a great early introduction to how diverse families can and should be. It exposes children to a wide variety of families that they may or may not have had experience with prior. It is a perfect starting point for many conversations.

Every family is different. This book is a celebration of the diverse kinds of people and families we may see in our neighborhoods, towns, and countries.

A beautiful homage to the love a family can and should have, this book is filled with gorgeous illustrations that look like they are hand-painted with watercolor. They are vibrant and rich. The eye-catching colors will keep children engaged while this is being read.

The authors explore LGBTQIA+ people and their families. The narrator has two moms, the family next door is raised by a single dad, and across the street is a little girl and her transgender father. It goes into mixed or blended families, interracial families and adopted children. From only children to triplets, children living with grandparents or foster families, this book dives into every type of family and the most important part of it. Love.

A spectacular book for families to teach their children about different kinds of people and homes children are raised in, this book is all about acceptance. It is a great way to open up the discussion when children have questions about families they may see out and about. Their naturally curious minds will want to know more about them and this book will show them how to connect to those who are different, embrace and befriend them beyond just accepting them.

This story was both entertaining and educational, which can be a tricky balance to maintain in a children’s book, and I will be suggesting it to teachers whenever possible. Incorporating important topics such as kindness, friendship, diversity and tolerance of differences into children's picture books is a tried and true way to teach an important life skill in a way that is fun. This would be an amazing addition for classroom libraries, counselling offices and more.

This is a beautiful story celebrating diversity and inclusion. A little girl guides the reader through all the different types of families in her small town. There is LGBTQIA+, disability, and BIPOC representation within all the families.

I think this is a valuable book for young children. It teaches them about all of the different ways a loving family can look. Thank you NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh how picture books have changed from my own childhood! A beautifully illustrated book featuring soft watercolors and diverse skin colors, ages, body sizes, and genders. The journey takes the reader along on a beautiful tour of a small neighborhood of children and the people who raise them. Each family was beautifully diverse and showed situations that may be very different from what we might know or have experience with. Praise for a special highlight of the couple who chose to not have children- this is often a concept that gets lost or is not respected.

Cute idea for a story about the many different families we have in our world! I liked how the authors based the story around one single town and shared its diversity. I think that this book would elicit many thoughtful questions and make many feel seen!

This beautiful picture book tells the story of nine different families who live in a small town and are all very unique. From LGBTQ+ family members, to single parent and blended families to fostering and adopting and even family members with disabilities. No matter what the make up of a child's family is, I'm pretty confident they can connect with at least one of the characters in this book. The artwork and illustrations are beautiful! I believe they are made using water colour paint, and there are mainly warm colours, which I think was used intentionally to create a feeling of warmth and belonging among the community members within this story. I could definitely see having this book in my Grade 3 classroom library, and would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the 4-10 age range who want to open up discussions about diversity and acceptance of others. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book!

Oops I accidentally cried reading a kids book 😅

All the Families in My Town is a beautiful introduction to differences. The illustrations are simply magnificent and the text is so simple yet full of warmth. It is a brilliant conversation starter, a good first step into the topic for children as soon as they're ols enough to be meeting people outside of their own family.
A short book about acceptance and family and love.

I will be buying the original French version.

Highly recommend!

I read this with my daughter and it was such a lovely and refreshing experience! I hope they will use this in schools to explain different kinds of families and that it's not just the typical nuclear family.

The illustrations were beautiful and captivated us. The representation was great.

In this book, it showed families with two moms, foster children and adopted children, single dad, a transgender man, and a father using a wheelchair. There was also a couple who did not have children because they didn't want to and that was okay of course.

My daughter and I were just confused, still are, about the family with different moms and dads and the one living in the forest. I hope they'll add a guide at the end because some of it could be confusing even to adults like me.

Overall, this was such a lovely book, and we highly recommend it!

This book totally just made me cry. “All the Families in My Town” is so wholesome and beautifully diverse!!! In the simplest way ever!!! I absolutely love how each family was explained in a way that children will be able to understand while also providing an opportunity for more of a discussion on the various dynamics. This kind of equality and diversity is so beautiful to see. I also loved the illustrations and art style and thought that the colour pallet was really nice!!

Overall such a precious and important book.

“Mom says that adopting is like falling in love.”

This book almost had me in tears. What an utterly beautiful, stunning work of art. I wish I’d had this book as a child.

The writers and illustrator of this work have been perfectly paired, and balance one another so well. The colour palette and loose, flowing style used throughout is gorgeous, and emphasises the warmth of the entire narrative. I didn’t expect to be so affected by this work, and I cannot recommend the book enough. I’ll be running to my nearest bookshop in September to see a copy in person - I can only imagine how beautiful it will be!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for this absolute privilege. I’m blown away.

Some families isn't same with standar family we knew. Some confusing even for us as grow up. But the challenging is how to teach kids about this diversity of family ? Well this books coming with charming narration and very beautiful illustration. The content maybe not everyone but I think the author nailed to give simple, clear and cute explanation to each type of families.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this informative book.

This is a book about a girl who lives in a town with just 9 houses. Each family is different, but she loves each house for different reasons. It is a great story of including different types of families. She lives with two moms, another house has a single dad, there a is girl living with a foster family since her birth mother can’t take care of her now, and a couple who decided they love children, but did not want to have any of their own. I think this sends an important message to both children and adults that there are just different types of people in the world and each makes the choice that is best for them. This town exudes happiness and joy. That is really what family and community are about.

The illustrations by Ariane Caldin are absolutely beautiful. They bring out a sense of safety, community, fun, and family. These pictures enhance the book all the more.

Thank you, NetGalley, Ophélie Celier, Thomas Piet and Crackboom! Books for an ARC of this book.

An absolutely beautiful book that teaches children about all families being unique in their own way. An absolutely wonderful way to show all the different types of families that exist and the only thing that is important is the love they have for one another.
