Wasn’t what I was hoping. I don’t like insta love so it’s a me thing of why this wasn’t my kind of book. I can see why it would be fun and different to break up the sugary sweet holiday books.

I saw another review call this "Hallmark After Dark" and that fits perfectly! It wasn't my favorite book, but it was still a great read. I especially love the LBGTQ+ and fat rep. I recommend this for some light Christmas reading when you need just a little smut.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher!

I devoured A Very Little Meet Cute. As a Hallmark movie lover, I enjoyed the story line, character development, and steamy scenes in this book. Looking forward to the next book!

Thank you to Julie Murphy, Sierra Simone, Avon and Harper Voyage, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

LOVED THIS BOOK but definitely not classroom appropriate!!!! So steamy and fun and loved the body diversity. SUCH A WINNER!

I read this over the holidays and after a long semester and even longer retail season, it was so cute and the perfect easy read to help me get out of a reading slump! Murphy and Simone do a great job blending their writing styles and the romance touches on serious topics without losing the fluffyness of the book. As always I love plus size characters in romances and the fact that sex work is talked about in a healthy manner here is so important. This was so cute and I would definitely pick up from this author duo again.

𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 3.5/5⭐️⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝: If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like for Hallmark + porn stars to collide…do I have the book for you. A Merry Little Meet Cute is extremely spicy mixed with a little sweet.

The representation felt very natural and inclusive of everyone: a fat/sex worker heroine (who, admirably, did not constantly fixate on shame/dysmorphia), to a bisexual love interest, a bi-polar parent, two lesbian moms, and I’m sure more that I’m neglecting to recall. Bee was confident and owned her career and her actions, and I really loved her character.

This one was A+ on the 🌶 parts.

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞: At over 400 pages, this one did drag on a bit longer than it needed to and got pretty dull towards the middle since the romantic connection was pretty shallow. Overall I found this one steamy and amusing, but a bit lacking.

While I really appreciate the premise of the book and the plus-size rep—and the steamy scenes were great!—I’d say overall this book just wasn’t for me. I could see it working for some folks, but I personally didn’t love the style, and I wanted more emotional connection from the characters. I think if you’re looking for something fun and steamy for the holiday season though, it’s worth giving this a try.

Now that a deal has been ratified with HC, I can circle back on my thoughts about this book! What a delightfully funny, sexy holiday rom-com this was — I think Murphy and Simone are a match made in heaven when it comes to balancing the steam with the humor, both of which are very much needed with a premise like this one. Apparently, it’s only the first in a new series from their new author team-up, which means even more to come!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was funny and heartwarming, spicy and charming, and I absolutely LOVED having plus sized main character representation. Truly I laughed, I cried, I swooned…this one has it all

Holy gods, this book caught me off-guard. I absolutely was not expecting a book about a pornstar. I laughed non stop and yes, I swooned a little bit over them. It did made me cringe a little but I did enjoy this book a lot. I would love to read more from this author and see what else Murphy can come up with.

Woooooo.

Do not let this cutesy cover fool you, this book is SPICY. If you plan to listen to this one, make sure you're either alone or wearing earbuds. Lol.

I loved the premise of this one Hallmark Christmas meets the adult film industry and it lives up to everything it promises. Bee is an unapologetically sexy, charismatic plus size woman who just so happens to be a proud sex worker and was the perfect character to challenge societal taboos and antiquated opinions of what a leading lady should be.

this one was super intriguing to me but fell a little flat, there was way too much build up and not enough excitement, I feel like this plot could have been executed so much better

I absolutely loved this steamy, sex positive, Christmas miracle of a book. The representation, the realness of the characters struggles, the heart and the romance were all top notch. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

A Merry Little Meet Cute was definitely one of my most-anticipated reads this winter and I’m happy to say that Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone delivered! It was fun, heartwarming, spicy, hilarious, and sweet. I really hope that the two authors collaborate on more adult romances together!

The holiday season plays a major role in A Merry Little Meet Cute—there was definitely also a lot of Christmas everywhere...which is just what I’d hoped for. From the snow-covered town to the themed food, drinks, and places, to the exciting events that take place…it was a wonderful way to escape into this book that blends festive and spicy in just the right way.

I really liked the main characters and their individual stories—I found them to be multidimensional and interesting to read about. The side characters were also very fun to spend time with, and all of the characters in general were very well flushed out and felt very real.

A Merry Little Meet Cute was the perfect book for me to curl up with during the cold winter months and escape into. I would not be opposed to Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone returning to the Christmas town setting for their next collaboration if they have one. I had a blast reading A Merry Little Meet Cute!

Was not expecting this to be WAY MORE than a regular holiday romance....still a very good book though.

A lovely, compassionate holiday treat! Love this power duo and excited to read more of their work. I feel hard for these characters and their love story.

Spicy!!! But so good!! It was definitely more spicy of a book I have ever read but it was such a fun read. I loved seeing how Bee and Nolan came together and found love. How fun was it to see one of my favorite authors pair up with another talented author to create this story!

This was…a mess. I’m sorry but there’s no other word for it.

I loved Julie Murphy’s book Dumplin’ and had enjoyed Sierra Simone’s work in the past so when they announced this book, I was really excited for it. So much so that I jumped at the chance for an ARC. But from the very first pages something just felt…off. I thought maybe it was because the book was co-authored but the further I read, it became clearer and clearer that wasn’t the issue. In fact, that’s the one good thing I can say about this book - it didn’t feel disjointed or like it had been coauthored at all.

I think my main issue is that everything just fell flat. Nothing ever seemed like it went beyond surface level. The characters, the relationship, the bi representation, the smut. All of it. The two main characters felt like roughly outlined sketches of characters and not like real people. This made it really difficult to root for the relationship. Both Bee and Nolan knew of each other before meeting and were attracted to those preconceived ideals and it never really felt like they came to be attracted to each other as individuals. Even as their relationship progressed, I still felt like I was reading about them being with a fantasy. Also, what’s the point of constantly mentioning a suitcase full of sex toys if you’re not ever going to use it? Which brings me to the smut which… Look, all I’ll say is, there was one scene that was so ridiculous it genuinely made me want to throw my Kindle across the room.

Given all of that, I don’t think either Murphy or Simone are bad authors. I think this was just a rushed and poorly executed project between friends that probably should’ve been left in their shared Google Doc. I think I’ll just stick to their singularly authored titles from now on.

Very steamy and funny and sexy! A little out of the ordinary, but still a fun holiday book. Can’t wait to read more by these authors.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the characters, the story, and the happy ending.

I would recommend it and could see myself rereading it.

I received a gifted copy but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
