Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a chance to listen to this book. This was good. The anxiousness of Cameron figuring everything out and then taking care of things like she did, chefs kiss!

I enjoyed this audiobook. Cameron, a very successful dentist finds out something horrible that her husband who is supposedly dead did while he was alive. She believes her husband faked his death and sets out to find him before the police decides she is his accomplice and arrests her. She has her own secret, though.

It was fun to follow Cameron's journey as she hunts down her husband. Although not an edge of your seat thriller, it was still a good story. The narration was well done.

Thank you NetGalley for providing an audio ARC of this book.

I received a copy of this audiobook from the publisher and Net Galley for review. Thank you to the publisher for providing me the advance copy.

I definitely enjoyed this one and would recommend it to others. It is somewhat in my preferred genre of mystery/thriller. This had a lot more adventure and survival than many books I read, but I also really enjoyed those parts. I found Cameron a likeable character, and I was interested in her life and how her story played out. The serial killer aspect just added to the intrigue. I also immediately liked the Alaska state trooper...whose name escapes me as I write this...and what he brought to the plot. The narrator and narration was enjoyable and well done. This was one of those books that I couldn't wait to get back in the car or start a weekend cleaning spree so I could get back to listening to my book. I will be looking into other books by this author.

I posted the review to Goodreads and my personal Facebook. Thank you for the opportunity to review this title.

“After John disappeared while hunting - presumed dead from a bear attack - Cameron found the crime photos. His role in the recent Seattle serial murders was discovered.” GR

I listened to this while at work and it was perfect to help me get through a busy day. While it didn’t have me on the edge of my seat it was still extremely entertaining. It kept me questioning where the story was going and what exactly was going on. While I think the reveal was obvious it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. I think the author knew or hoped the reader would already assume the reveal and making it a true ‘twist’ is not what they were going for. I would definitely recommend this one but as always with thrillers the less you know the better! So definitely go into this one without reading too much into it.

I really liked Cameron’s character and how her character developed throughout the story. This story took place in several different locations and Cameron had to learn to adapt to each one. The author did a great job of describing scenery making you feel as though you were actually up in the mountains or out in the forest. The author also did a great job explaining Cameron’s character and giving enough background so the reader can believe/know everything Cameron is truly capable of.

If you plan on listening/reading this one, clear your schedule! You're going to want to finish it in a day like I did.

Thank you so much @orangeskyaudio for the #gifted copy on #netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #thefinalhunt #newbooks #audiobooks #thrillerbooks

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book early! This is a short thriller about a woman whose husband is allegedly killed by a bear when hiking with his friend. Upon his death, she finds incriminating photos that point to him being the notorious serial killer "The Teacher Killer". She is shocked and at first it looks like her life is falling apart and she's going to crumble, but when the detective tries to convict her of being an accomplice she takes matters into her own hands. She doesn't believe her husband is actually dead so she goes to the Alaskan wilderness to hunt him down. I love that she was a take charge lady that didn't just let everything crumble around her. She has a best friend who is a lawyer and it would be easy for her to put everything on him, but she doesn't. You could definitely guess the ending if you're into guessing things, but I enjoyed the reveal and thought it was fun. The epilogue confused me and I'm not really sure where she was going with it, but overall it was a really fun quick read. I would have liked a little more development in knowing our main character and her husband, but for such a short read I think it did alright!

SPOILERS AHEAD:
He was alive and she finds him and feeds him to the wolves! Her best friend/lawyer was with him when he "died" the first time and was in on the whole thing. She has a romance with a guy she meets in Alaska and ends up ditching the city life that she loved to live up there near him. I didn't love that inclusion and it felt underdeveloped but oh well.

This book was a nail biter! I kept trying to guess what would happen next and was surprised time and time again. Cameron had her world turned upside down when her husband John was killed in a tragic hunting accident where he was inadvertently mauled by a bear. Seeking to soothe her broken heart and grief, Cameron took respite in their old remote hunting cabin. While there, Cameron made a gruesome discovery of some photos indicating that John may have been involved in several rapes and murders. Cameron immediately took the photos to the police and found that the police were close to charging her husband with a series of serial murders by the infamous “teacher killer.” Horrified, Cameron tried to understand how she could have possibly missed this awful truth about John —maybe because she was so busy hiding a truth of her own? This fast paced and exciting book follows Cameron’s quest for the truth while she faces her personal demons along the way. A gripping novel that was extremely enjoyable!

This thriller is grippingly captivating. The characters are well developed and intriguing. Cameron is strong, smart, and determined. Her quest is breathtakingly riveting. The scenery is magnificent and vividly described. The plot is well crafted, and complex, filled with secrets, mystery and twists and turns. The ending is surprising. Stacey Glemboski did an excellent job bringing this story to life. This was another great book from Audrey J. Cole. She never disappoints! #NetGalley and #OrangeSkyAudio #audreyjcole #audiobookreview

Really really good, until the end. I didn't understand their motivations at that point, felt a little was sacrificed to cover loose ends. Either way, I still enjoyed it overall and the setting was super cool. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Wonderful quick thriller

What a fantastic read! Who shot who and why? How far would they go to cover their tracks? Sometimes the distance is very far! This is a MUST READ!!

This book was slightly predicable in some ways but had enough twists that couldn’t put it down! It also had parts in Alaska which I love in a book. The narration was excellent. It was easy forget it was one person doing all the voices. All around a good read that I will definitely recommend.

Wow, this book grabbed my attention from the beginning and the tension did not let up throughout. Cameron is a dentist whose husband, Jack, was recently mauled and killed by a bear while hunting. Cameron discovers an SD card that she quickly realizes contains photos of her husband murdering young women. She hands the card over to the police, but they suspect she is also involved in the killings. What ensues is a runaway train of action and suspense as Cameron tries to find her husband, who she believes is not really dead.

Stacey Glemboski was excellent as narrator. She kept the action moving and the tension high. I will definitely be looking for more from Audrey J. Cole and Ms. Glemboski.

The Final Hunt is a gripping thriller by Audrey J. Cole. Cameron’s husband disappeared during a hunting trip and his body was never recovered. As Cameron is mourning her husband, she finds pictures of her husband with a dead body. Was her whole marriage a lie? But as we discover, John wasn’t the only one in this marriage who had secrets.
This tale will take you from Seattle to the Alaskan wilderness. I felt like I was in Alaska with vivid descriptions of the landscape. I listened to the book on audio and the narrator’s voice was pleasant.
I want to thank the author, OrangeSky Audio and Netgalley for a complimentary copy of the audio book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

4 solid ⭐
I do enjoy a story that reveals secrets after a person's death and John's secret is a doosey.

Cameron finds evidence that her husband, John, is apparently a serial killer known as The Teacher Killer. Once she tells the police and word gets out of her husbands crimes, she is being shunned and considered an accomplice. The media is relentless, she might not be able to sell her house for the $3.3 mil she needs and she loses all of her patients at her dental practice.
I, like the rest of the world, have to wonder how the wife did not know.

The prologue is about John's death, then the first chapter skips ahead 3 months to Cameron's discovery. I never really got the whole grieving widow vibe since we go right in to the nitty gritty of both the police and her own investigation.

She is convinced he is not really dead, so she embarks on The Final Hunt to Alaska in hopes of finding answers. Winter in Alaska was described so well that I felt like I was freezing my katookas off while they were ice fishing and tenting on a lake (do people really do that? no thank you.)

Tanner was a thorough detective and did a great job investigating. Dane was an alright cop too, his actions a bit far-fetched at the end though.

I found this to be a great thriller that kept me intrigued throughout with some good secrets and twists. Thinking back I am like duh, how did I not figure the big reveal out, as it's pretty obvious. I don't care for insta~love in my thrillers either.

A quick and easy listen at 7 hours and 13 minutes and 2x. Stacey Glemboski did a fantastic job keeping me engaged throughout the whole story.

This is my first time with this author and I'd be delighted to read or listen her work again and again.

Cameron, a successful dentist, is happily married to John. He is sadly killed by a bear when on a hunting trip. Or is he? While looking around the cabin, Cameron discovers photos of women who have been killed by the "Teacher Killer". She is horrified to discover that she has been married to a serial killer. She loses her practice and home and is hassled terribly by the media. When police begin to delve into whether she could have been involved. she goes to Alaska to do some of her own investigation. There is a blossoming love story and action galore that keeps this book moving even if it is a bit predictable. Cameron has a story from her past that haunts her also. Good, propulsive, easy to read, enjoyable! Thank you so much to OrangeSkyAudio and Netgalley. The audio was great! 3/5

This was an entertaining read. The first 85% was interesting and decently paced. I found it to be engaging and a fast read.

However, around the 85% mark there is a shift in the story. Something happens and it's as if the author wanted to increase the pacing to show how dangerous something was. Unfortunately, this change made for a few unbelievable things to happen in a very short period of time. It was just too much all once and I found it very difficult to suspend my disbelief as one thing after another happened.

Aside from that short section and one other addition right at the end, I found the book to be a really good read. I think if the book had continued on its path and been consistent to the end, I would have loved it. As it stands, I still enjoyed the story and think it's worth a read. I would recommend giving this one a try. Maybe that bit won't bother you and you'll find it exciting instead of over-the-top.

I listened to the audio of this one and would recommend it. I thought the narration by Stacey Glemboski was very well done.

I will be interested in reading more of this author's work. 3.5 stars.

Cameron’s husband, John, went missing while he was hunting. Everyone thinks he was attacked by a bear because his friend found John’s blood in the woods. The only problem is his body was never found. Cameron, devastated by the loss of her husband, searches their cabin for happy memories. Instead, she makes a shocking discovery of picture proof of John’s involvement in the murders of several Seattle women. Cameron’s life as she knew it is ruined. She must come to terms with the fact that her husband was a serial killer. Something that isn’t easy when the media is on her front lawn 24/7 and her patients are all canceling their dental appointments.

I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the beginning on Cameron’s story. Audrey Cole did a really great job with her character development. I could truly empathize with what Audrey was going through throughout the story. While the plotline was rather predictable, the superb writing made the story very enjoyable. I found myself turning up the listening speed to find out what happened next. I really enjoyed the part set in Alaska where Cameron was searching for John. The details included by Audrey Cole made it, so I felt like I was really there. It makes me want to visit Alaska now to see what it is like in person. This was my first book by Audrey Cole, and it certainly will not be my last. I can’t wait to read more from her!

I enjoyed this one as I thought it was very twisty and not predictable. It was fun to listen to as well.

This was predictable with no real plot twists. The writing was good though, just the story was not something that really carried me.
