Uh, this was wild and crazy. Having a serial killer for a husband is unbelivable. But here everyone has secrets and we never know what will come out, who is saying the truth and who is hiding. I loved the romantic dialogs here the most. A quick listening and quite interesting.

Thank you OrangeSky Audio and netgalley for this audio.

This is my first time reading a book by this author, however, I enjoyed it. Such a crazy turn of events and eye opening to realize some people you're so close to you might not completely know. I did think some of the twists in the story was predictable but I still enjoyed it. The premise was interesting, but got way more interesting when the main character went to Alaska on the hunt to find her husband. And that ending, wow!!! Good read!

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publishers to read and review. All statements above are my true opinion after reading this book.

A great thriller! This book kept me going and going! John & Simon are best friends when a tragic accident happens while they are hunting.
John's wife Cameron Prescott, a dentist, learns a lot about the husband that she just lost. Cameron, who is also a pilot, flies her private plane to Alaska to try to get answers. The police are trying to build a case against her, thinking that she was her husband's accomplice.

4.5 stars
This book follows Cameron and John, they are both successful people with deep dark secrets. John dies in a unfortunate bear attack and Cameron is left in shambles and has to pick up the pieces, until she finds photos of a dead body in their bed their perfect marriage is now become a nightmare.
Once Cameron finds out that her husband is a serial killer, she is on The Hunt to find out the truth behind his murders meanwhile discovering that he may not be really dead.
I enjoyed this book because it has everything a thriller needs, murder, love story and secrets.
I also really liked the narrator, it felt more like I was watching a Netflix movie than listening to a audiobook.
I am so glad I got the chance to receive an ARC and look forward to more from this author

“The Final Hunt” is a 4.5-star book for me. The book begins with the story of Cameron, who is grieving the loss of her husband, John. On a hunting trips months before, John disappeared, presumed dead following a bear attack. While staying at John’s cabin, Cameron comes across a drive that she thinks may contains photos of herself and John. She is horribly wrong. Instead of happy photos of their married life, the drive contains photos documenting the death of women at John’s hands. Reeling from this discovery, Cameron takes the drive to the police, only to discover that they had already suspected John was a serial killer stalking the area prior to his presumed death.

The news explodes with the story, and soon Cameron is surrounded by the media who all want a piece of her story. The result is that Cameron is soon faced with the loss of her dental practice, as well as her home. With her life crashing down around her, Cameron realizes she has become suspected of helping John on his murder spree. Faced with this, Cameron begins to believe that John may not actually be dead. No one around her believes this theory, but Cameron is determined to prove it. She leaves town, heading into the remote Alaska wilderness on a hunt to find out the truth, no matter what the cost.

This being said, Cameron has her own dark secret that she doesn’t want to come to light. Will she find John alive somewhere in the wilderness? Will she be able to keep her own secret from being discovered? Can she prove her own innocence in John’s sick murderous spree? With these questions swirling around her, Cameron takes off on one final hunt.

This story was original and engaging. The author’s writing style was easy to immerse oneself into, and I tore through this book, hesitant to walk away. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and how Cameron’s story would end. Her character was easy to root for, even as doubts begin to appear as to what Cameron believes and what the truth may actually be. The story barrels forward at a good pace, taking the reader along for Cameron’s wild ride. I absolutely loved this thriller.

That is, until the end. This is where my review dropped to 4.5-stars instead of 5. I predicted the big twist from the onset, but I was actually okay with this because the story was so good. Without giving away spoilers, what threw the story off for me was the very end. Although the story, of course, requires some suspension of disbelief, the very end was just a bit too much for me and quite cheesy. Despite this, the book was so good otherwise it held on to the stars.

My copy of the book was an audiobook. I liked the narrator, although some of her male voices just didn’t work for me. Her narrative style still kept me engaged, though, so I would recommend the audiobook version of this story.

Overall, I loved this book and would highly recommend it. It is a good thriller story, although the reader should be prepared for a slightly disappointing bit of the ending. The full conclusion still works and fits well, though, so this story should not be missed. Adult readers looking for an interesting story should pick this book up for a quick engaging read.

I am a total convert to audiobooks and thanks to NetGalley I received an Advanced Readers Copy audio of “The Final Hunt” by Audrey Cole. I was optimistic that the story would be an armrest-gripping suspense story with the wilderness as an added character. Though a noble attempt at “serial murder” meets Hallmark Movie and Mysteries “The Final Hunt” does not amaze as much as it’s set up. We find out right at the beginning that Cameron, the wife, is left with the knowledge that her husband has died in a tragic accident only to uncover the fact that her husband was a serial murderer.
Interesting, eh? But the expected twists and turns of a Robert Goddard novel or a Reginald Hill Dalziel and Pascoe Yorkshire mystery did not emerge. The story is not bad: “The Final Hunt” just doesn’t quite get you reading till the middle of the night.

I received a free review copy from the publisher, via Netgalley - thank you!

I listened to this as an audiobook.

What would you do if, in the middle of grieving your dead husband, you found out he was a serial killer?

It was a fun, easy read but I wished it was more believable, and a little more mysterious.

This book started off well, but slowly I lost interest. I don't know if it was the narrator or the writing.

This was a new to me author and a genre that is right up my alley. As I got through the book I definitely had several theories about who was responsible for the events in the book and surprisingly I wasn't completely right, which is nice honestly. I hate when I guess what's really going to happen before I'm even half way through the book. The plot was easy to follow as well as the writing. The only negative thing that bothered me was how convenient a relationship between two of the characters was towards the end. Also the epilogue threw me a tiny bit bc it wasn't quite a cliffhanger but left a few things opened ended.

This book was faced paced and easy to listen to. It was, however, very predictable. I wished it went into more detail about other aspects of the victims. I was able to listen to it in kne day and was very easy to follow. Wish there was more myster and/or suspense.

What a great thriller! I listened to the audiobook and was engrossed immediately.
The setting and atmosphere are well developed, the characters are all interesting, and the crime/mystery scenario is absolutely fascinating. The intriguing plot developed and built momentum throughout the story. The author made the female lead a sympathetic character, which required some really great character development. Although I figured out who the accomplice was early in the novel, unravelling how that person was involved and how that person's role was revealed were both very satisfying. There were plenty of plot twists to keep the reader guessing about what was really happening and who had actually done what.
This book includes some gruesome crimes and descriptions.
I had not read this author before. The ending could readily lead to a sequel, which I would definitely read.
This book is a thrill ride. I loved it. Highly recommended to those who enjoy mystery/thriller/crime fiction.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Net Galley for an audio ARC of The Final Hunt by Audrey J. Cole. This was a fun audiobook for me. I finished in one day. Cameron was a great character, strong and smart. How would you react if you found out your husband was a serial killer?

This was a very easy and fast book to listen to. I had a clear grasp on everything that was happening each step of the way and felt like I was right next to Cameron as she went through everything.

I also really enjoyed the setting being in Seattle and Alaska. Both locations felt like the exact right places for the events and they added to the mystery.

It didn’t feel like a thriller to me with the reveals not being actual surprises but rather we’re slowly disclosed. I think if you go into this one, expect a slow paced psychological suspense and you’ll enjoy it!

This was a fun and fast read that kept me glued to the edge of my seat. And I loved that part of it took place in Alaska as that is where I am from

I love a good mystery and this fit the bill! I listened to this audiobook when walking my dog through the woods. Let's just say she got a lot of walks so I could hear the next chapter and then the next etc. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won't be the last. I was kept guessing right until the end.

I literally couldn’t put this book down from the moment I picked it up. What would you do if your husband died - mauled by a bear on a hunting trip? Then. You find out he could be a much sought after serial killer. Would people believe that you had nothing to do with it? Would your life suffer? Your career? Your friends? Would they stay around? This book was so well written and while I had a good guess on how it would end it still had me wanting to read it all the way until the end with five stars. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Being a life long Alaskan, I generally shy away from any books set in my State. I'm so glad I didn't shy away from this one! I thoroughly enjoyed the story and will be looking forward to reading more by Audrey J. Cole.

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publisher and Author for providing me with an audio copy of this book for review.

This domestic suspense might make you appreciate your husband a little more. Cameron and John are a perfect couple. One of those that we read about often. John dies and Cameron is heartbroken…pretty common. But then Cameron finds John’s dirty secrets and this story takes off!

It makes you think. Would you know if your partner was a serial killer? We’ve seen this scenario in real-life many times. And looking from the outside in, how could someone miss the clues? It looks so obvious. But from Cameron’s perspective, maybe it isn’t that easy.

I’ve never read a book by this author and this looked like the perfect one to try. The enticing cover and description compelled me to hit the request button. Thank you to OrangeSky Audio for providing this complimentary copy through NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion.

Even though I felt most of the twists were predictable, the narration was great and the story was suspenseful and interesting. I was rooting for Cameron throughout her evil acts!

Twisty!! Even when there were some pieces that I guessed, there were many others that were expertly placed. Cameron’s husband was killed by a bear. Obviously, she grieves, but then learns that her husband was a notorious serial killer. She goes to Alaska to learn more about his death. This was a fun plot that definitely kept my attention! Thanks @netgalley, for the chance to review this book!

The Final Hunt by Audrey J. Cole is gripping! I loved how the author wrote the twists in the book and kept me enthralled the entire listen. The descriptions were so vivid that I could envision so many details. The red herrings the author wrote were so good. I did not expect the twist at the end and had several suspects in mind. Stacey Glemboski performed the book fantastically. She brought the characters to life with her voice and expressions, and I had not problem knowing who was speaking. I have listened to several books by this author, and this one is among my favorites. It is a standalone book, but I would love it if became a new series. Thank you #NetGalley and #OrangeSky Audio for allowing me to listen to this pre-release audiobook.
