The story of how Ackerman was part of informal network of people helping Afghanis who were helping American military escape after American troops withdrawal. The book is staged as a play in five acts alternating between Ackerman's vacationing in Rome and trying to organize extraction of his friends from Afghanistan in tbe last hours of the war and his flashbacks from the past when he served. His humor, his thoughts about the war and a place of military in American life in addition to an eye-witness account of Afghan War make the book a must-read.
