A cosy Uk romance that makes a lot of the food side of the storyline but misses a massive trick by not really referencing the Cornish angle. Not a tin min in sight, nor a pasty. That being said I enjoyed this acerbic pairing despite the fact that it was obvious from the very start that the lady doth protest too much.

Delicious and decadent, I could feel pounds piling on, but who truly eats fudge as breakfast, dinner and lunch?? A random pigeon , some shared grief and tons of DIY later and you have a compact romance that whizzes along at a nice pace.

This is the first book I have read by this author. Didn't realise it was part of a series but I enjoyed it none the less. A lovely cosy and heart warming book for the winter nights. Loved the background setting of Cornwall and lovely characters.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion

I absolutely love Jane Linfoot and this latest book is another great, cosy book to add to the collection! It has everything you could want in a winter read to escape from the gloomy real life. I'd definitely recommend it!

This is a lovely and heart warming story. I read it on holiday and it's absolutely perfect for a day at the beach.
Highly recommended.

Ellen and Gwen both want to move to the little seaside village in Cornwall to heal their respective broken hearts so when they manage to secure the lease on a tiny fixer upper cottage they immediately head off.
Ella will be carrying on working so the bulk of the work will fall to Gwen
Gwen is hoping to be left alone as she doesn't want to socialise but the villagers have other ideas
I so wanted to go and live in the cottage, although not sure about doing the renovations and decorating, that sounds like hard work, but the hunky neighbour might make up for it !

I didn't realize this was part of a series when I read this book - so it's easily a stand-alone read, too. I would like to go back and start the series now after reading #3.

Gwen and Ella move to a small seaside town to remodel a cottage in return for staying there. Gwen has a job outside of town and it doesn't seem like she's as a main character as Ella. Ella and Ollie, their neighbor, seem to be the main focus. Ella is grieving the loss of her brother (and her mother in the past) and Ollie is grieving the loss of his rowing partner, from whom he inherited the house he's finishing. They seem to get stuck in the grieving part and it drags on the story a bit, slowing things down and was repeated a lot more than seems necessary. It's a slow moving story, but eventually ends in a HEA moment.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

When I started reading this book I thought it would be just another romance set in Cornwall but how wrong I was. Yes there is romance and it is predictable but there is so much more. Ella and Gwen have taken on a project to renovate an old cottage in St Aidans for a small rent. They both think the project will help them heal but of the two Gwen is the one who needs help coming to terms with grief. The small community play a huge part in Gwen’s journey. There are laughs along the way, scrumptious food (especially fudge) and a cottage that goes from dark and dismal to a place to be proud of.

I loved everything about this book, the characters, the setting, the food and of course the man next door. A beautifully written book to,curl up and enjoy

This was one of those books where it is quite inevitable what is going to happen, so its the story in the middle that to me really decides how the book is. Sadly this one just merited an okay from me. Nice enough to read but just didn't capture me at all hence the middle of the road rating.

Imagine walking through the door of your new gorgeous abode and finding out actually you should have entered the run-down cottage next door. That was Gwen and Ella's welcome to St Aiden in Cornwall, where they moved for a fresh start. What follows is a story of acceptance, friendship and love. A beautiful novel full of charming characters that you warm to immediately. This book did not disappoint - would love a follow-up.

As I am fortunate to live in Cornwall, I tend to be drawn to books based there. Unfortunately, the majority seem to follow the same format - the protagonist, (nearly always female), moves to Cornwall following some tragedy. She moves into a house that needs renovation. She then starts a business, usually involving books or food. She meets a man and after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, they become an item.

I'm sorry to say that I think I must be all Cornwalled out, as I found the story to be rather predictable, as it follows the usual pattern described above. The only difference to most other books based in Cornwall was that the community were helpful from the beginning.... usually the leading lady has to win them over, which is far more realistic!

However, if you like a feel-good cozy romance with cake and fudge, in an idyllic setting, this may well be the book for you. 3.5*

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of the book in return for an honest review.

As much as I do enjoy Jane Linfoot’s novels, this one wasn’t as enjoyable for me. I’m not sure what it is exactly as I loved the setting but I just couldn’t connect to the book. The first meeting between Gwen and the handsome neighbour was hilarious though and I had hoped it would continue that way but after that I just couldn’t get into it.

I Love Cornwall, sweet tooth and foodie, yep I knew I was going to really be in my element in this book. I mean it helps I’ve read Jane Linfoots books before so I kinda knew I was onto a sure thing.

This is the third book in the Cornish kitchen books, but don’t let that put you off jumping into this, it can totally be read as a stand-alone, if you’ve read the previous books some familiar faces may pop in, but if you haven’t it’s nothing that would make you feel lost or confused.

Gwen is amazing, I loved her so much, she is moving on from the tragic loss of her brother, i loved how she took small steps to move forward and try and make positive memories of the things she had avoided for years, rather than just the loss and pain. I loved her relationship with Ella, it’s so fun, full of humour but also love and a real bond.

Then we have Ollie, I loved Ollie so much as we learn about him over the course of the story, you learn he has more in common with Gwen than you think. You know he has something in his past, something he’s holding in and it’s so gorgeous to see him open as the story moves along.

I won’t say much more without ruining the plot or story, but as ever Jane has written another completely heartwarming book, one that engages you, fills you with delight and warmth , although warning this book seriously gives you cravings. It’s full of wonderful humour that first few meeting between Gwen and Ollie, i didn’t think I could laugh so much. Jane Linfoot makes me cry tears of happiness, sadness so much, luckily far more in joy and she’s a goto author for me to improve my moods or turn a grey day blue.

Thanks to Jane Linfoot and Rachel’s Random Resources for the opportunity to read this wonderful story in return for an honest review, all opinions are my own and freely given.

This was an adorable addition to the Little Cornish Kitchen series. It features new characters Gwen and Ella who come to Cornwall in the hopes of restoring a seaside cottage.

Both Ella and Gwen are nursing broken hearts and deal with that pain differently. Gwen, meeting Ollie is incredibly hesitant with Ollie at first--even when he makes overtures (usually regarding a sweater) towards her that at least shows that he's intrigued by her.

The story is much more than romance, however. As Ella and Gwen embark on life-changing events that bring them new friends, and dreams that come true.

You definitely don't have to have read any of the previous books in this series--although, they do add to the enjoyment.

Jane Linfoot is a delightful author with an impeccable ability to draw the reader in and guide us through her world of romance, friendship, and character growth.

This has got to be my favourite festive read of the season, so far. I was delighted to become reacquainted with the characters from Jane Linfoot's previous novels and remembered well the warmth and community feeling which ran through those stories. St Aidan's seems to be such an inclusive place which seems to have a healing effect on people who arrive with damaged lives and past hurts. This story centres on Gwen and her lifelong friend, Ella, who are looking for a fresh start. Gwen is one of those people who hs never found a place to settle and is aware that before long, she will want to move on. Ella's marriage has ended. I loved the humour which came from the situations.

Gwen is a particularly interesting character who develops throughout the story. She tries to come out of her comfort zone time after time, and has to try to come to terms with her life as it is now. Loss and grief is dealt with in a sensitive way. You also realise that Gwen is not the only character who is suffering in this way. You also see that the community, in many ways, stands in the place of family for those who need it. There are some gorgeous festive details which makes this an ideal seasonal read.

In short: uplifting, warm, moving on, starting again
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book

Just my kind of book. A feisty heroine who appears to have lost her way but does not want to be rescued. Fiercely independent, Gwen works through her demons and finds herself surrounded by love and friendship. I love small town community books and this was no exception. Also….. I wanted to live there!

After loss and a break-up two friends desire
To move to Cornwall, new dreams for which to aspire.
They enter a competition to rent a cottage at reduced rate
Provided they agree its theirs to renovate.

When they win
They can't wait to begin.
They get in the vehicles and travel the miles
To St Aidan, where they'd holiday memories filled with smiles.

A fresh start but not in the cottage they first go
Where they meet Ollie Lancaster who is just . . . SO!
Their cottage is smaller, compact and bijou
With so much work they'll need to do!

In this community they soon find
The residents work together and are so kind.
Supportive, fun and plenty of laughter too
Will help Gwen and Ella as they see things through.

A delightful read with some tricky issues, too,
Showing that you never know just what others are going through.
A story of fresh starts, losing, grief and so much more
As well as romances and friendships to adore.

For my complementary copy of this book I give a huge thank you.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review
I hope you'll find time to read it too
As it is certainly a book I highly recommend to you.

P.S. At the end of the story, if you continue to take a look
You'll find recipes for some of the treats mentioned in this book
I don't know about you but I can't wait to discover
Which is my favourite - the fudge or another?

This is the third in the Little Cornish Kitchen series but is easily read as a standalone.

Cosy, heartwarming and absolutely delightful. Set in sleepy St Aidan, Cornwall, we join Gwen and best friend Ella as they move into the gorgeous sounding Stargazey Cottage.

Food, such delicious sounding foods, this book is full of it, do not attempt to read on an empty stomach!

AWWATLCK is a gorgeous story of friendship and starting over. The story is told in first person by Gwen as she is welcomed to the community.

We reconnect with characters old and make new friends along the way. All characters are realistic, relatable and a bunch of the most friendliest people.

Highly entertaining and enjoyable. I can't wait to pay the Cornish Kitchen another visit sometime soon.

Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot.

Wow could this book contain any more cosy vibes than it had! The most perfect book to get you ready for winter. The way this was written was so wonderfully inviting it made you want to be there.

Gwen and Elle - Both having been through difficult situations I warmed to them right away. I adored their friendship and individual characters. Ella’s behaviour made me laugh where as Gwen I just really found her endearing and a sweetheart.

Things I absolutely loved :
•I really enjoyed how the chapters were labelled - such a nice touch.
•The loveliest characters made this a charming story.
•Great community spirit - made me smile throughout.
•The importance of letting people in, being brave and over coming fears.
•The most delicious food mentioned - and what a delight that was is in store for us at the end (No spoilers)
•All the winter scents.
•The cottage - I really am inspired by renovation so was really interested to see how this was going to turn out. I would love to live there!!

As well as the above I really enjoyed getting to know the hot local men - with their sweet, caring romance! Not to forget that sizzling chemistry.

A book that will leave you squealing in delight and with happy tears!

I loved it so much I would highly recommend reading this. Grab a hot chocolate, a sweet treat and enjoy!
