I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Employment Law: A Practical Introduction is a fantastic source of information for both UK employers and employees. This book covers all the information I could have hoped to learn about and has given me some great, practical advice and information relating to my rights as an employee and was easy to follow and understand for a book of legal information! It's so important to learn your rights and know what they are. This book has come at the perfect time as I am currently needing support and advice regarding my employment and this book has been a great book to help me get things into perspective and learn not only my rights, but what I should expect from my employer and where I stand. The book has cases to read (which are short and concise) as examples for each section and offers the viewpoint of HR which I found interesting.

In “Employment Law”, Elizabeth Aylott provides a great introduction to how employment legislation applies to professionals in the UK. It covers a lot of ground, including Data Protection, Parental Leave, and COVID, all in a clear, accessible way. The Case Studies are relevant and beneficial, and the subject matter covers the full term of employment from start to end.

I would recommend this to anyone studying either this area of law, or working in HR.

My thanks to the author, NetGalley, and the publisher for the arc to review.
