be still my witchy heart. i’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Fix It Witches series as it is but Extra Witchy was my favorite by leaps and bounds. The Vanderpol-Montgomery’s have stolen my heart and i do not want it back.

Leanne Vanderpol is an independent witchy woman, thank you very much. after two divorces she’s confident in her decision to keep love to herself and her coven. Trev Montgomery wants desperately to be more than his high key toxic family sees him as. still recovering from the heartbreak of a lifetime, his self esteem has hit rock bottom and he doesn’t foresee it coming back up anytime soon. when a hookup at a party turns into a marriage of convenience, these two will have to weather a season of their lives no one could have forecasted.

i LOVED witnessing Leanne and Trev create a real life together. my favorite romances have love stories where you feel like you’ve known the characters your whole life and this one does that so well!!! maybe it’s my own mental illness 🥲 but Trev was so relatable and it made it really easy to root for him and Leanne to get it together. I loved how career driven Leanne is and that she’s allowed to succeed!! i’m a sucker for a househusband. ugh. i just love them so much. 5⭐️ for the Vanderpol-Montgomery’s!!

Leanne has been in a rut - she’s working for the mayor, but has to sit by while he rejects proposals that would improve their community. As a twice-divorced single woman, she worries about her public persona should she decide to run against the sleazy councillor in her district. Enter Trev - living in his parent’s basement isn’t how he thought his life would be going, and he’s lost as to what to do with his life. When Leanne proposes that getting married will get them both what they want(image boost for her, alternate living accommodations for him), and their agreement doesn’t involve the feelings they both start to develop.

I really enjoyed coming back to this world for a third time! This picks up at the party we see in the first two books, and I think it’s such a cool choice to see what these characters were up to while the protagonists of the last story were doing their thing. Leanne and Trev are so sweet together, and I was so happy to see the mental health rep throughout this novel.

I felt much like Trev did during my lowest moments - that I didn’t have friends, purpose, value, or really anything redeemable about myself that would make me worthy of love. Seeing the internal struggle and progress that he makes is such a wonderful part of this novel, and I’m glad that we could see things from his perspective. From the way that his family treated him, to the way he treated himself were both impactful to the story as he sees what it’s like to be valued and accepted by Leanne.

The love story was sweet, the witchy vibes perfect for an October read, and a great addition to the stories we’ve already heard from St Clair. I’d recommend starting from the beginning of this series so there won’t be spoilers!

" My head is a mess, but …. no, it doesn’t change anything. I don’t care what or who you are. You’re still the person who crossed room to pick me out of the crowd. You’re still the person who makes me feel like I matter more than anyone else. “

I really liked this paranormal romance! The beginning is a little slow and you don’t feel anything for the characters but after the fourth chapter or so it definitely picks up! I am in love with Trevor! This man has stolen my heart. He thinks he’s a waste of space and is very down in life. He doesn’t have much of a direction and spends most of his day playing video games. I love how leanne works very hard to show him and tell him that he’s perfect for him. That he matters. I really loved the gender swap roles in this romance! Trevor ends up staying home and doing the cooking and cleaning while Leanne runs for mayor. I loved that Trevor I was very emotional and sensitive and very self-critical. And added a lot to his character and in the end his growth! I am also really happy that we finally get in this romance where witches tell the truth to mundanes! That was the one thing missing from the authors previous books. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about was the heroine’s personality a little bit. I found her at times acting way younger than her age so for the most part I just pretended that she was in her late 20s or early 30s.
This Book can totally be read as a standalone and honestly be read anytime of the year not just for the Halloween season!

Read if you like:
3rd person dual POVs
Paranormal romance
Witch x mundane romance
Marriage of convenience
Forced proximity
Gender role swap
Cinnamon roll hero
Sensitive hero
Open door romance

This book follows Leanne, one of the other witch’s from Danica and Clem’s coven, and Travis, Titus’s best friend. You get to see their meet cute in both the first and second book during the house party/meet the friends gathering that Danica and Titus throw.
I LOVED the marriage of convenience in this story along with the slight age gap (she’s older 👀). The dynamic and relationship between Leanne and Travis is so raw and real- the see each other in a way that other people don’t. He handles her mom well and as he puts is a perfect stay at home husband. He supports her career endeavors and she encourages him to find something he’s passionate about and pursue it. She helps him realize he’s worth people’s time and love and attention, while he shows her it’s okay to take your “mask” off and show people who you really are. And you know, in true marriage of convenience fashion- they actually fall in love 🥰

It's the first I read in this series and now I want to read the other books as I throughly enjoyed it. Two well plotted and complex MCs, a plot that is both interesting and intriguing, a good story that kept me hooked.
I loved the storytellling and the characters.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I’ve really enjoyed this series & all the fun witchy small town romances! I liked the dynamic of the MC’s in this one. Leanne is strong willed, organized, and twice divorced. She’s ready to run for city council but worries her divorces and not being married now could ruin her chances. So Leanne and Trevor form a marriage of convince with all the steamy perks! Trevor lives with his parents, but is ready to get out in his own. He also struggles with depression but he’s loyal and kind. I think these two had great chemistry! I loved watching these two grow and fall in love! Trevor worked hard at improving himself. It was nice to see. It was such a fun, steamy romance! Perfect for spooky season!

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is the third installment in the Fix-It Witches that follows Leanne, the fiery red-head of the coven as she sets out on finally fulfilling her political dreams. To do that though, she needs a husband, and fast. Enter Trevor. He's been down on his luck and pretty depressed since his ex broke up with him, living in his parent's basement and feeling like a failure. But that's all about to change.

While this book had a lot of things I normally like: fake dating/marriage, forced proximity, dual POV, and hello witches!! it unfortunately fell pretty flat. There was SO much going on in this one, from each of their self esteem and relationship baggage, to Leanne's TWO different council stints, two separate family dramas, and then the whole witch thing. The story felt so spread thin that you couldn't really get into the meat of any one thing. Because of that, everything was tied up nice and neat, with no issues, super super quickly. Don't get me wrong, I have a happy ending, but even this had me skeptical.

While I liked Leanne well enough, there wasn't enough about her to make me really invested. We did get a lot more from Trevor and I really liked hearing his thoughts and dealing with his anxieties and insecurities. Their relationship was okay? I was never invested or on the tip of my seat waiting to find out what would happen, and it was the least spicy of the three. While I would recommend the first in this series, I don't know that I would recommend continuing to this third installment as much as I love the community built in St. Claire. I gave this one 2.5/5 stars.

I loved Witch, Please but was a little more tepid on the second book in this series, Boss Witch, so I was very curious to see how I'd feel about Extra Witchy. And the answer was - kind of in the middle of the first two!

A lot of hints about the plot of Extra Witchy were dropped in the previous two books, but it was nice to finally get the whole story of Leanne and Trevor. Both made for enjoyable POV characters, working through their own stuff as well as the questions surrounding their relationship. I particularly loved seeing Trevor's growth, but watching Leanne learn how to embrace her softer side was also lovely. Their romance was both goofy and sweet, a well-done modern marriage of convenience plot.

My main issue with this book was that the timeline of it was very stretched out. It covers a lot of ground, which makes sense given the way the book is set up, but it meant that the middle in particular dragged for me. Huge gaps of time pass in the course of a sentence or two, and I found myself struggling to keep track of exactly how long Leanne and Trevor had been together and how long they had been going through whatever phase they were in. On a similar note, a lot happens in this story, and on occasion, it felt just a little overstuffed in terms of plotlines. The result was that the plotting and pacing felt a little clumsy, taking me out of the otherwise very cute story.

It's not totally clear to me if this is the last that we'll see of the witches of St. Claire, but either way, this was a satisfying, if slightly clunky, third installment in the series!

4/5

Extra Witchy by Ann Aguirre is book 3 in the Fix It Witches series. Highly entertaining and not your average small-town happily ever after. Really enjoyed this emotional and laugh out loud fun magical adventure. This book is filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists, and edge of your seat moments. Great reading!

Reader, I loved it.

So this is the third book in a series I haven't read (people who know me are laughing at me, this happens chronically). I liked the characters: Leanne is career driven and going hard to get the job she wants. Trevor is sad, lonely, and desperately needs a hug.

Trevor was like a kicked puppy who was slowly recovering through the entire book, and I loved watching his growth. He was very supportive of Leanne while trying to figure out what he wants in life.

I did want more building on the magic aspect of the book, and balancing the magic/romance aspect could've been done a bit better. It is, however, the third book so I might be missing context.

The book is light, fluffy, and funny. If you're not in the mood for something that takes a lot of thought, this is a perfect book for you.

Extra Witchy by Ann Aguirre
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Genre: Romance
Published: October 4, 2022

Extra Witchy is the 3rd book in the Fix-It Witches series by Ann Aguirre and I think it's my favorite! Honestly, I loved each one of them and it's hard to pick a favorite! This book can be read as a standalone novel or as part of the series. This book does overlap with the previous book, but is told from the perspective of a different character, so I think you would enjoy it even if you hadn't read the previous book.

I absolutely loved this book! It made me feel all the feels! I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster with these incredible characters because I was so invested! The characters were wonderful, so likeable and interesting! The story was captivating and I was so drawn into it!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A great read, the story of Leanne and Trevor. He can never know she is a witch without him ending up getting hurt, so do they have a chance of being together?

"Extra Witchy": 4 ⭐

Okay, so this is the third installment in the "Fix-It Witches" series by Ann Aguirre.
I have to say that, so far, my favorite one continues to be Danica and Titus' story. However, Leanne and Trev's is a close second.
I absolutely adore this small town, witchy vibes book. I think Ann Aguirre made this series into such a cozy Autumn MUST READ, it's impossible to miss! Especially with covers such as that! 🤩

I loved Leanne and Trev. They were absolutely wonderful and I really liked how their relationship was very spontaneous and how easily they complimented each other.
Both coming from difficult parent' backgrounds, they knew when to put a stop to them and when to let them forward. I loved that Trev was a cinammon roll and a total softie against Leanne's stronger personality. Underneath that personality, she is also a softie and someone who wishes to be loved. That's why I thought they were a perfect fit! There was a little age gap between them, so for those of you who don't really like that trope, just wanted to say it's hardly noticeable.

Loved the friendships and the coven and I loved the new addition to the story, Dante and Margie. Does that mean we're getting another book? 👀
The only reason why I don't rate this 5⭐ is because I missed the magic prompt. There was the mention of using magic and charms and stuff but it wasn't as proeminent, which made me sad. The title really made me think we would see more of that powerful witchy small town vibe.

Not that I'm disappointed with this book, just would've loved to see more and more sorcery! Still recommend it to everyone who loves a good cozy witchy romance!

this book has:

- fake dating
- marriage of convenience
- dual pov
- "breadwinner" fmc
- "homemaker" mmc
- intertwined storylines with previous books in the series

actual rating: 3.5 ☆

after a casual hook-up, leanne, a twice-divorced witch proposes a marriage of convenience to trevor, who is unemployed, still lives in his parent's basement & is eager to improve his life. leanne uses the marriage as leg-up in her run for city council, whilst trevor gets to start over & figure out what he really wants to do with his life.

i was pleasantly surprised by how much i ended up enjoying this book! the first book in the series was fun but fairly average & i didn't really like the second book but this one was super cute & i loved that it ended with the witches "coming out" to their non-magical partners & the whole world. this book also switched up the gender roles & the mcs complemented one another very well. i also love how they handled dealing with toxic families & showed that forgiveness isn't always owed just because someone shares your blood.

tw: depression, self-esteem issues, child neglect, toxic families, death of a parent, mention of abortion, toxic masculinity & drug use

thank you to netgalley and the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Extra Witchy by Ann Aguirre. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC.

I started off not enjoying Leanne and Trevor, finding them annoying. I was about to dump the book but decided to give it one last chapter to engage me. I am glad I did. The story did an excellent job of making these two characters work as a couple despite their flaws. While this will not be a series I will be continuing, I give the writer kudos for making these characters likable toward the end. My biggest issue with the book is that I don't enjoy the witch aspect of the story. You could take the whole magic story arc out, and it would not lose anything. So why is it there? I give Extra Witchy 3/5 stars.

This was my first Ann Aguirre book in what is the third of a series. I really love a good marriage of convenience tail and this really hit the spot. I loved watching Leanne and Trevor work their their individual issues (especially Trevor who is a bad place at the beginning) as well as their growing partnership. Ann Aguirre Writes such interesting characters and I love her worldbuilding. Witches are always a fave for me, and I loved the way magic rules worked in this world, along with the diverse supporting characters. I really enjoyed this book, I’ve bought the first one so I can get caught up.

The Fix It Witches grabbed my attention from the very beginning, and I have to say this series gets better with every installment! I absolutely loved Leanne and Travis' story, and how things overlapped with previous installments. I really hope there will be more in this series!

I mean, can these books be any cuter? I love Titus with all my heart, but Trev and Leanne’s love story is just adorable. I want one!
I love how the normal roles are reversed.
So cute and so funny 🥰

Listen, I wanted to like this book. I really did, but I just couldn't. I dreaded picking it up again every time I put it down, but wanted to push through because it's an ARC. There were definitely things to like, but they were just absolutely overshadowed by the bad stuff. I really liked the switch of the traditional gender roles, with Leanne being driven and career oriented and Trev being a house-husband. The way the characters were written... I just wanted to give Trev a hug. He's definitely been going through it. While maybe I would like Leanne separate of their relationship, I also didn't love her. The way she was written was just off putting. I don't really mind that she was just using Trev as an ends to her means, because she makes that very clear and Trev also gets something out of it, but there is a very distinct power imbalance. Not simply because she is the one with the money etc, but because the boundaries are not made clear and Trev is constantly left to question everything and have to prove himself. Leanne also weirdly has no flaws and at the same time really isn't all that likeable. I really struggled to connect with her and at times felt like she didn't see Trev as more than a convenient pawn in her game and at most she pitied him a bit. I do attribute all of that to the author going a bit over board in writing her as strong and single minded. Trev in turn is just a little too passive. While I like that he's not ambitious, I think it would have been good for him to at least like doing anything besides video games and cooking for Leanne. If he was fulfilled being a house husband, that should have been made clear, but in my opinion that wasn't the case. He also doesn't have any kind of job in mind. This is later resolved, but also at the suggestion of Leanne and not because he really actively chose it.
The relationship between Trev and Leanne was lackluster as well. Where was the chemistry? The tension? The feelings? I got nothing, beyond them liking each other. It just didn't feel believable at all and I was weirded out every time they had sex, because there was no build up or sexual tension at all.
Lastly I was super excited for witchy vibes, which I didn't get whatsoever.Leanne being a witch contributed nothing to the story, until pretty much the end. It gets mentioned sometimes, but really there's no point to it beyond creating conflict before the conclusion. There was no kind of explanation or background on how exactly magic works or about witch life in general. It was honestly just confusing and unnecessary. And the created conflict was just... Resolved. In absolutely minimum time. *insert what was the reason tiktok audio*
