Extra Witchy is the third book in the Fix-It Witches series by Ann Aguirre. This is my first introduction to the series and I think it holds well as a standalone, but made me curious about the previous couplings of the prior books in the series.

Witches ✔ fake relationship ✔ marriage of convenience ✔ curvy independent heroine ✔ and even a pan hero ✔ All these aspects should have made this a slam dunk for me but our heroine caused the whole thing to fall a little flat for me. I simply did not care for curvy, independent , speaks her mind, witch Leanne Vanderpol. I'll be honest, our hero Trevor Montgomery made the entire book for me. Trevor was a precious cinnamon roll who right from the start stole my heart. Him being pansexual was really a footnote but I felt strong demisexual vibes from him. Anyways, he struggles with depression and his self-worth. He's an emotional character who loves fiercely. He's so supportive and caring of Leanne, even while he believes she sees their arrangement as temporary. Trevor is book boyfriend material, and I wish Leanne had appreciated him more. Their relationship starts out hot, heavy and physical and then quickly becomes cozy ad domestic. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of open door steamy intimate scenes there were.

Overall, Extra Witchy is a spicy read that perfect for those looking for a lighter read for the spooky season. A marriage of convenience with a witchy secret, a Vegas wedding, political aspirations, steam, cuddles, and a happily ever after.

Third in the series, Extra Witchy is a delightful marriage of convenience story set a small town. It can be read as a stand-alone, but the other books are good too, so don’t miss out.

Leanne is an ambitious woman looking to run for city council. To help her PR before running, she enters into a fake marriage to Trevor.. Trevor is a jobless and often hopeless local who struggles with his own insecurities. They enter into an agreement but it isn’t long until sparks to fly and they might just find love again with each other.

I adored the characters and the setting in the book! It’s the perfect witchy read for the month of October and one I recommend!

After reading Boss Witch, i knew i needed more of these witches! This is about Leanne and Trev, i loved them sooo much. At times i felt Trev was being a push over but NO i was pleasantly surprised when he showed his strength and his loyalty to the people he loved. Leanne Leanne!!! god i loved this woman!!!! i loved how she showed up for herself and took no shit from anyone.
Trevor is the ideal man and mold for staying by someone's side through thick or thin. he is so respectful and firm when he has to say no. Leanne is so in tune with Trev and shows how much she appreciates him. GOD i loved this book.
It also made me cry a bit, which let's blame it on hormones 😭

Thank you to @netgalley and Author for the chance to review this book.

I’ve read the previous two books in the Fix-It Witches series and excitedly read this new adventure. The author cleverly has all three books take off from one party where all the main characters are present. So each story is happening contemporaneously. Leanne is driven, working in city government and now wants to run for city council hoping to bring real changes. She been divorced twice and thinks that will be used against her. She meets Trevor at the part and they humorously have a hook-up in a bathroom. They actually like each other. Trevor is a lost soul, popular in high school and college but losing his way after his girlfriend dumps him. He now is the stoner that lives in his parents basement smoking weed and helping his friends with odd jobs.

These two would be the side kicks in another novel but they get their own story. Leanne suggests a marriage of connivance. Getting him out of his parents house and hoping a marriage makes her look better to voters. And they agree to intimate times and faithfulness too. One of the things that works so well in this book is the acceptance of him as a house husband. He gains confidence and thrives in helping her campaign and with her messy mother relationship. The book isn't predictable which is nice.

I was wishing for more magic, she is a witch and has a powerful coven. But this is a sweet, sexy, old fashioned marriage to more trope. Meeting her father seems more of a filler than something she needs to do. Trevor is too easily forgiving of his friend and I was still a little confused why he was so lost after his breakup. But I liked that author has his character grow and gain confidence in his story arc. And I like that he doesn’t have to fix everything with his toxic family.

I love the covers for all three books, especially this one. But I’m not sure this cover matches the Vegas wedding in the book. The ending and epilogue make me think this is the end of this series so I will wait patiently to see what the author writes next. Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. The story was fun, and I found the characters easy to relate to. Leanne and Trevor had good chemistry and I found myself feeling for both of them. I thought this was another very good entry for this series.

For two novels, Leanne and Trevor have been the consummate supporting characters – good friends, funny lines, just interesting enough to add to the story. In Extra Witchy they get to take center stage, and I’ll admit I was skeptical. I couldn’t imagine either one of them as a lead that could carry a whole book. But I’m SO happy I was wrong. This is a modern-day marriage of convenience story (Leanne needs a husband to run for town council) that totally, completely works.

This book is fun and heartfelt and so, so sweet. One of my favorite tropes is characters who, without even trying, make each other better. Leanne lets people see the flighty, fun, boy crazy side of herself, but she’s so smart, driven, and she sees more in Trev than anyone else. Trev has gotten stuck in a rut of being unemployed, playing video games, and smoking weed, but he has the biggest heart. He shifts so easily into helping and supporting Leanne and seems shocked when she supports him in return. Dare I say it: they become kind of a power couple, and I absolutely loved them together.

Despite the title, I think this was probably the least witchy book in the series. There’s a big magical bang at the end that sort of changes everything we’ve known previously, but most of the story focuses on real life problems and falling in love. I could have used a tiny bit more magic, but Leanne and Trev captured me enough that I can’t even really complain.

And though I wished we saw the moment when Trev’s obnoxious dad realized what a wonderful, fulfilled life his son had, it’s probably more realistic to not show that. It’s healthier for Trev to simply make a clean break from that man, and I wish people in real life could easily find that same kind of peace.

3/5 Stars - 2/5 Spice - Book #3 of Fix-It Witches

Idk what it was, but this book just wasn't a vibe for me the way the first two books were. It was nothing against the plot - I was fine with a marriage of convenience/ friends with benefits relationship the two have, but I felt like the story really drew out. We get more excitement in the last 1/3 of the book, but even then, I was more ready for it to be over then drawing out the story. I think the just reverse grumpy -sunshine, cinnamon roll relationship was a tad lack luster for me.

Brief Plot: Travis wants to find a future and purpose, and Leanne needs a more normal life for her plans to get into local government. After a one-night stand, the two recognize they can help the other in their future goals, so off they go for a Vegas wedding. but as they both start accomplishing their goals, they have to decide where their marriage of convenience ends, and actual emotions, and a real marriage may be starting? Oh also, Leanna is part of a secret witch coven, and how long cab her secrets be kept, to protect Travis?

Thank you NetGalley Sourcebooks Casablanca for an eARC copy of Extra Witchy, by Anna Aguirre. This is my honest review!

I have immensely enjoyed all of the books in the Fix-It Witches series and Extra Witchy was no exception.
I loved that we got to focus on other members in the coven and Titus' friend that was mentioned in Witch Please. I found Leanne and Trevor to be an unlikely couple but they worked! I think their dynamic was so sweet and I enjoyed watching them fall in love. I also thought the reasoning for their marriage of convenience made sense.
This book started with a bang and that should've been a warning for how steamy this book was going to be! I think this is the steamiest out of the three.
I'm a big fan of the world Aguirre has created too. It feels like Practical Magic almost, perfect for spooky season.
I'm hoping there are more books in this series (fingers crossed!)
Overall I really thought this was a delightful romance with some light paranormal magic in it. I would recommend this for readers who like opposites attract, marriage of convenience, small town romance, witches, Practical Magic vibes, and steamy romances.

Extra Witchy is the third book in the Fix-It Witches series by Ann Aguirre. This is such a sweet, feel-good romance with adorable characters. I absolutely adored this witchy romcom!

I really wanted to like this book but I struggled to finish it. I REALLY struggled to finish it. The hero is very insecure , kind and a wonderful person but his insecurity overwhelms everything. I did not like the heroine. I felt as though she was using the hero to help her during her campaign and stumbled into love along the way. She was not believable to me. She was working him to her advantage and he was just desperate to be loved. I felt as though the heroine was more masculine in approach than the hero. In our woke society I am certain this is appealing to many but not my cup of tea in a romance novel. It started strong and then fizzled away for me.

This book was hard to get into and I wasn’t sure if I’d end up finishing. It dragged on and went quickly all at once. I didn’t really see the relationship develop just was told that it did. I think all of the subplots going on made this a bit chaotic for me

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for sending me an e-ARC to read and review! I think this was my favorite installment in the Fix-It-Witches series. I absolutely adored Leanne and Trevor. I think the growth and love they had was so real and I loved their openness with each other. The marriage of convenience trope is always a delight and these two had me hooked immediately. Seeing the other characters from the other books was so nice and I could truly feel all the good vibes. This was the perfect book to start off October with and I really love the series overall. Of course this had a bit of spice, but it was super swoony and super cute and I loved reading this one.

The excerpt from my review of Boss Witch book #2 in this series "Very curious about Extra Witchy! Cause the description of them at the house party was hilarious in the bathroom. I need to know more.😂"

So this didn't go where I thought it would and but it was so much better than I thought. I just love Leanne and Trevor. They start from a tipsy one night stand and turned into a fake dating, fiancee and then a full blown marriage of convenience. For a woman that has trouble with commitment and a man who doesn't feel worthy of anyone they feel pretty comfortability into this situation.

Leanne is running for town council and needs a husband for her image. Love the way their relationship evolves.

✨ A marriage of convenience
✨ Older FMC
✨ Mental health rep

Thank you sourcebookscasa and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC.

I gave this book my normal attempt before dnfing and it just never got better for me. It’s very cheesy and overall I hated the writing style, it felt so immature yet these characters are supposed to be grown adults one of which has had 2 marriages already. The marriage of convenience felt so forced and these characters have only known each other for 2-3 days before Leanne becomes very serious about the marriage. Leanne when she first met Trevor instantly asked him to be her 3rd husband which felt weird and then it never stopped being weird. I think some might like this book but it isn’t for me and I can’t force myself to read any more of it.

I enjoyed the first two books in the series and when we got a little hint of what Leanne’s story would be in Boss Witch , I was excited to see where the book would take us. But the truth is that while there were bits and pieces that worked well, for the most part, it fell flat for me. I am constantly fascinated by this coven and the witches that are part of it, their relationships and dramas and all of the witchy goodness makes me happy. But Extra Witchy was missing quite a bit of the magic that we got in book two and the story took a while to really make sense.

I enjoyed Leanne and Trevor’s relationship. I loved how being together really helped them both grow. Trev goes through a series growth in this book and I appreciated that. Because he wasn’t just a functional fake husband. Speaking of which, the tropes in this book totally spoke to me—marriage of convenience, forced proximity, age gap—and I liked watching Leanne and Trev navigate what it means to be in a relationship of this sort. I even liked all of the interactions we got with the witches in Leanne’s coven and definitely enjoyed watching Leanne be a boss babe and taking control of her life.

The thing that really took me a long time to wrap my head around was the romance. Knowing that Leanne is just looking for her ‘third husband’ and doesn’t want any feelings of any kind with Trev was fair, but their connection and relationship felt like it was full of feelings from the beginning. And the way Leanne spent a good amount of the book treating their relationship like a transaction and being surprised when Trev does nice things for her irked me.

I do also wish there was more magic, the story could have definitely done with more spells and enchantments and all of that jazz.

Great addition to the series. Maybe my favorite one so far! Marriage of convenience trope that really worked well.

Leanne wants to run for city council, but she’s afraid her two divorces will give her opponent too much mud to sling. So she asks her friend’s boyfriend’s best friend to get married. Trev doesn’t feel like he has anything going for him and really likes Leanne, so he decides to move forward with her plan. I really like how these two work together on their relationship, even though it started in an unconventional way. Throw in a bit of magic, and you have a great storyline! 🪄

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Extra Witchy to come out October 4, 2022! And here’s hoping for a book 4 in the series… perhaps Margie’s story next???

As for the most recent release, Extra Witchy follows a marriage-of-convenience of sorts between Leanne and Trevor. While Leanne isn’t part of the Fix-It Witches store, she is part of their coven and everything about her story is unlike anything we’ve seen before. Firstly, these two main characters are unlike the usual type of “romantic partners.” Leanne is a career woman who is running for city council and Trevor ends up becoming her househusband who really doesn’t have much ambition at the start of the book.

However as the story unfolds, we watch as they start to grow together both as people and as a couple. For Leanne, she has to come to terms with some events from her past while Trevor has to figure out what path he wants for his life. Overall, it was nice to see these two having a real relationship and seeing them work on themselves and their relationship which a lot of us can relate to.

The only issue I had with the story was that the ending felt a bit rushed. Everything seemed to wrap up neatly in a bow without much angst. However for some readers, that’s the perfect draw as there are some heavy topics in each book but they are still light and fun, too. Even so, the books also contain some pretty steamy sex scenes, too especially Leanne and Trevor’s wedding night.

Another sweet, fun story in the Fix-It Witches series…this may even be my favorite of the three!

While most of this story was lighthearted fun, there are some really poignant moments that super got me in the feels…especially Trevor’s struggles with depression.

I loved the reversal of traditional roles in the MCs relationship and that it wasn’t portrayed as like…a sacrifice or something on Trevor’s part, but as him being able to fulfill what felt natural and right for him.

Can’t wait for the next story in the St Clair world!

I've been curious about how Leanne and Trevor ended up married and this book explores their story and it is lovely. It is not really a fake relationship because they are definitely involved even though they get married so Leanne will be taken more seriously for the city council. There were some points that I wish had been a little smoother but I loved the end when the magic users out themselves to the world but there is so much other news going on that no one really notices. That makes a LOT of sense to me.
Leanne Vanderpol grew up with a mother who was more concerned with finding love (in all the wrong places) than in raising her daughter. She wanted to be different but she already has two divorces under her belt. At least she didn't have children with either of her ex-husbands. Now she just works in a sausage party where the men treat her as lesser than because she's a woman. But she's going to change that by running for city council and working from the inside.
Trevor Montgomery got out of a bad relationship and just sort of... collapsed. Now he spends his days doing odd jobs, smoking weed, and hanging out with his friend and his friend's friends (he doesn't think they like him for himself.) Sure, Leanne is hot and hooking up with her in a bathroom during a party at their friend's house seems like a good idea at the time. But getting married? And being her househusband? Well, at least it's a direction in life.
Of course, this is a romance so it might just be that this relationship that starts off so tentatively might just make them both a little stronger.

Four stars
