DNF after 20% I’m sorry to the author. I dislike speaking badly about any book but I can’t recommend this. The first line of the prologue has two typos. There was no hook, it wasn’t engaging at all and overall I just had no drive to continue reading. It read like a really poorly done sitcom.

This one is so weird because I enjoyed the two main characters and their relationship, but the storyline itself felt so all over the place. I didn’t realize until about halfway through that it’s book 3 in a series so maybe that’s my issue. I just felt like it jumped around a lot and there were moments that I felt it got slow. But! I love the main characters, they are super fun and cute together and I love how by the end they’ve both helped each other grow so much as individuals.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

I will read every single book in this series, no questions asked. Each one of the three books in the Fix-It Witches series has all been very different so far, and all of them have been great in my opinion. Each of the three books has such a different dynamic between the male & female leads, that it really feels like there is something for everyone! This one follows Leanne and Trevor (Trev to his friends), as Leanne seeks to become a city council member & Trev goes along for the ride.

Leanne, in terms of heroines, is not necessarily the person I am most drawn to - I think I like Danica the most out of the three I have read so far - but boy, if I need someone in my corner I hope I have someone half as determined to fight for those they love as Leanne. Trev, oh Trev....I love this man. This man was beaten and broken down by the patriarchy and toxic masculinity, a toxic relationship, and an extremely unhealthy family dynamic. But this man still fought 110% for Leanne, worked hard on unlearning toxic behaviors/self-talk, and is one of the most anxious-ridden but loving hero's I have read in a book in a long time. I love him. Leanne picked a good one.

Also, just all the casual LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC representation in this book, like the other books is just - perfection. Everything in this book about marginalized identities or non-traditional identities (ex. a female politician with a "house husband") is done casually but with respect and delicacy. Things aren't overly made into a point, because things about people in the books are just facts, but they don't go unmentioned because they are still part of the characters identities. I really appreciate Ann Aguirre's writing and I can't wait to read more books in this series!

I loved this romance book between a witch and her soon to husband. I loved the friendships and slowly taking the plunge together to get married, I loved the romance between them. I adored the friends and really enjoy the sizzle. I also adore this writer . I can't wait to read more in this series.

Hooray for another witchy bingeable book by Ms Aguirre! She’s quickly become one of my automatic reads as everything she’s written is so fun!
I loved the gender swap where the female was the alpha character and the male was the beta - it was such a refreshing twist!

🔮 This is the third in the Fix It Witches series and it is by far my favourite (and I loved the first two!!)

🔮 Leanne (our FMC) is so full of life and has such a good energy about her! I have liked her from the brief glimpses we got of her in the first 2 books so I was really excited when I heard the third would be about her!

🔮 Trev (our MMC) is such a sweetie and it’s so hard not to love him. He’s kind of like a human puppy dog and it’s so hard not to root for him

🔮 The combination of those 2 characters makes for an amazing witchy rom-com to add to the series and I really really hope there’s another!

4 stars - It was really good

Well this was cute! Leanne Vanderpol has been married twice and has decided her third marriage will be one of convenience. Trevor is looking to get out of his parents basement and start life again and agrees to be Leanne’s husband. Neither of them expect to fall in love.

Like I said, this was cute. Leanne and Trevor’s marriage was quick and very surprising for all their friends. But, they had great chemistry and had a strong partnership. Leanne is a very driven woman. I liked her determination to change her community and the witchy world. She is the kind of politician that I would want to serve the community.

Trevor is instantly attracted to Leanne but has extremely low self-esteem and never expects her to care for him. I liked that Leanne could see the true Trevor and helped him start to overcome his depression and self-esteem issues. I also love that we are seeing an older character getting his life together and creating career goals. Society is constantly trying to push people to have everything figured out by their late 20s but that isn’t how it works. You can change your life at any point, age has nothing to do with it.

Overall, this was a wonderful addition to this series. I really liked Leanne and Trevor. Also, I need more house husband romances now.

Trigger warnings: depression, toxic parents, neglectful parent, toxic masculinity from family, on page death of a parent, suicidal ideations

I really wanted to like this one, but I couldn't get into the characters. This was the first book I've read in the series and I didn't feel like I was missing out on any of the side characters, but Leanne and Trevor were not what I expected. I love that Leanne is driven, ambitious, knows what she wants and is basically a girl boss. Trevor however, is kind of sad and lame? He doesn't know what he wants to do in life, has no goals or passions and has been unemployed and smoking weed in his parents basement for a decade. He's genuinely surprised anyone wants him and lets Leanne lead everything and make all his decisions for him. I couldn't do it anymore. I like my MMC to be stronger to match the FMC or at least have some semblance of their life together. Just wasn't for me! I DNFed at 33%.

** Received a copy for review.**
This is my favorite book in this series. I am a sucker for a big cinnamon roll and Trevor may be the squishiest roll of all. He doesn’t fit with his family. He was broken by an ex girlfriend. He just wants to love and care for someone.
Leanne grew up with a flighty mother and no father. She does not count on anyone except her coven. When she meets Trevor something clicks.
You get a marriage if convenience, forced proximity, and big secrets.
These too fit together so perfectly. Of course there are bumps but overall it’s a pretty angst free story.
Trevor is just amazing.

I have enjoyed the first two books in this series and throughly enjoyed the third. I believe this a a great addition to Ann Aguirre’s books. The writing was great and the plot was wonderful drawing the whole series together..

I’ve read all three books in this series and I have to say, this one was my fav- and I loved the other two!!

Leanne is a free spirit witch. She does what she wants and has no regrets about anything. She is successful, smart, and well-liked. When she has a one-bathroom stand with half-baked Trevor, she sees in him something no one close to him - including himself – does: potential.

Heir little bang fest turns into a pseudo-relationship that morphs into a marriage of convenience in order to give her street creds when she runs for a city council position.

Along the way, these two learn to appreciate themselves and one another.

There’s simply nothing bad I can say about this story from a plot point or characterization point – both were perfect. The only thing that was mildly annoying for me was a nickname that Trevor gives Leanne. It’s a cute nickname but I got a little sick of seeing him call her by it every single sentence. That’s on me, though, and not the author.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for a sneak peek at this great end to the series.

Halloween came early!

I was super in the mood for something Halloweeny and I thought this book would be perfect! This is the third book of the series by Ann Aguirre featuring Leanne in this book.

I really wish that there was more magic in this book, make a hex here, a spell there, anything!! I just wanted to get the witch vibe but I just didn't throughout the book

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the earc in return for an honest review.

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book just jumps in expecting you to know what’s going on. After a lot of confusion and deciding to do a little more research about this book I now realize that it is the third in a series. In my opinion romance novel series should be able to be read as stand alone novels without major plot holes.
It feels like the writer is plowing forward with the story adding elements as they go like they’re frantically scribbling down the ideas popping up in their head instead of mapping it out and creating a good story around and leading up to those plot points. I feel like I’m reading a story where the writer just threw all the plot points in at the beginning and expects you to try to keep up with this fast moving train with no explanation.
We just found out that the main character works for a shitty boss and does most of his job. She’s considering running for city council or she is running for city council? It’s really not clear which. And it feels like in the same breath we are also told that she has this fleeting thought that maybe being married would increase her chances of being elected. It’s literally a thought in her head and then not even five pages later she’s proposing marriage to a man who literally just walked in the party. She hasn’t even had time to observe him or to say hello or anything. On top of that we have a very brief introduction to the male main character, Trevor, and the most we know about him is that he just got out of a really bad relationship or the relationship didn’t go the way he wanted to so he’s depressed and has self esteem issues. He’s going to his party that he clearly has no idea what kind of party this is or what kind of people are going to be there (witches). The only reason the reader knows anything about the party is because the female main character said that it was a party thrown by her coven. I am assuming his friend knows that it is a coven party and the shenanigans that we later learn will be happening at the party because he is in a relationship with the witch that is throwing the party.
He shows up at this party and he’s immediately propositioned for marriage by our main character. This behavior would make sense if she was trashed because she then propositions him sexually as if the marriage thing was a bad drunken joke. However when he puts her off until she’s had time to sober up to be sure if she wants to do that we switch to her point of view and find out that she’s not drunk let alone wasted she’s just buzzed. So there is no reason for that off-the-wall way of meeting a new person. We kind of get a very brief and vague sentence that is supposed to let us know that he’s pansexual. However I would never have known that had I not read the summary for the book. It’s kind of like they just wanted to be able to say this book has LGBTQ representation into it. We are literally like maybe 15 pages into this book and we have yet another plot point get thrown in: the Mc and her coven friend start talking about a witch hunter who is at the party hovering around another member of the coven. The reader doesn’t know or get any information about why the witch hunter is there or why he would be invited to a coven party. And honestly it seems like the whole premise of this party was to watch the witch hunter? This reminds me of editing my friends attempts at fiction back in middle school/early high school before they had any real writing skills. They just kind of took all the plot points and interesting parts from their outline and tried to throw it into the story right off the bat.

Lackluster sex scene. I honestly have no idea how these characters could even have sex (become aroused) because the scene was described so blandly and with such a lack of chemistry and/or sexual tension.

So disappointing I couldn’t get into it or finish it.

This whole series is so good! Each book gets better and better! I loved the age gap element in this book!
