This is one of the most precious children’s books I’ve ever seen! The text is poetic with such a heartwarming message for people of any age, and the illustrations are amazing!

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids for lending me a free digital ARC of this book to read and review!

This book is entirely too long. The rhyme and the cadence are nice, but it seems like this boat is rolling across the Atlantic instead of rolling across the lake. What saves the story are the illustrations of the animals both child and parent. They are soft and cuddly and make you want to pet them. For me the book doesn’t work but for some families it well.

Why the World Needs Love is a sweet book about Love and the importance of love in the world. I don't think anyone would argue that the world is a better place with love and that there would be less conflict in the world with more love and caring. In this book they learn that love comes in different forms ; love for your mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents, cousins and other people. There is talk of how much you will enjoy things when you do them with someone you love as well as how love will make you feel better and happier. The illustrations are cute, large and vibrant. The animals show human emotions in the pictures and that made me smile. Each two page spread has a lovely heart-warming rhyme and adorable animal illustrations reminding us that love is all around us. An overall sweet book to share love with reader and listener. I am looking forward to reading this book to my grandchildren.

This is a lovely addition to any reading corner, especially for the month of love. My youngest who is 5 years old, enjoyed the story but especially loved the illustrations which are whimsy, and sweet featuring loads of different animal families which prompted all kinds of exciting conversations.

Oh my gosh, what a beautiful book with an even more beautiful message. Love is the answer!! Showing a child that love comes in all different forms and displaying that in pictures is brilliant because that will be etched in their minds for years to come. I loved all the pictures of adorable animals and their babies. I wanted to rip out the pictures and frame them for my niece's bedroom :) Definitely a gift-worthy book for the child in your life.

This book is just pure art!
There are beautifully rhyming poems that resemble tiny stories, and then there are the most beautiful realistic and life-like drawings with so much cuteness and beauty in them.
I absolutely loved the text and the message of love being all around us, but I am even more in love with the illustrations.

Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks kids, Gregory E. Lang and Lisa Alderson for the opportunity to read this beautiful picture book. Love is all there is; that is what we should teach our kids and this is why it is important that children read and absorb books like this one. ( I am reading this book with my 9-year-old son.) To teach children how to love and be loved in the right way is the best education a parent can give. In this book they learn that love comes in different forms ; love for your mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents, cousins and other people. And this love should be shared because the best things in life should be shared. “A life full of love is a gift.” This is the perfect book for the whole family; the writing is beautiful and the illustrations are wholesome and heartwarming. In short this book feels like a warm hug.

Told in rhyming poem on each page, this book encourages kids and adults alike that love is the most important thing of all. I really liked the art that has a baby animal with a larger animal, especially the gecko. “Why the World Needs Love” would make a wonderful gift to a loved one. While I enjoyed the art and message, I didn’t have been feelings about the writing style.

The illustrations are gorgeous. Very colorful and perfect for kids. That part is incredibly well done. And the message of the story is really beautiful. But it ends up feeling hollow without the fact that God is love. Love, the emotion based on the stuff makes us feel glad or cheers us up when we're sad like the book says, is fleeting and flimsy. It's not solid or sturdy. Not without God, whose love is constant and perfect. If you add that, then this makes sense. But if you base on the fleeting stuff, it doesn't really work.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free copy in exchange for this honest review.

Beautiful photos of animals adorn every page adding a warm feeling to this book about love and how everyone needs love from family and friends. My one year old loved looking at every picture getting a giant smile on her face at each one. This a book I could see reading to her over and over.

Such an important message for young ones. A necessary theme that cannot be shared enough. And I wholeheartedly agree laughter is the purest form of love when it’s just bursting out of you. Well written and fun, with sweet illustrations. This is a one to be cherished and read again and again. After all, love is what everyone needs.

I read "Why We Need Teachers" previously and I loved it. So it makes sense that I love this as well. And this book is focused on platonic love and support that you gain from people around you, telling you that even when it's hard, you keep going for love. And of course, the illustrations of many animals are fun. I think this is a good book for children to read. We all need a little more love and kindness in our lives.

Why the World Needs Love is an incredibly sweet book! The illustrations are soft and beautiful. Kids need to hear that they are loved by so many people...from parents, siblings, other family members, friends, teachers, etc. The message of this book is for kids to recognize and understand that love is all around them and that no matter where they go in life, they will always be loved. I read this book to my daughter and will read it to my 3rd grade students soon because it is the perfect social emotional/growth mindset book. Why the World Needs Love is a book that all children need to have access to!
