This was such a sweet book! I loved the overall message about being yourself, not hiding who you are, and being proud of yourself! The vibrant pictures really draw you in, and the story pound at your heartstrings!

This book was adorable! I thought little Rainbow was so sweet and I loved how this book inspires children to think about our differences, our similarities and was makes us entirely unique! The illustrations were bright, colorful and adorable as well. I had a bit of a difficult time finding the rhythm of the book as far as the rhyming element went, which took me out of the story. Otherwise, this was a lovely story and important for representation.

I loved this picture! As someone who has dealt with having a unique name and being made fun of as a child, I completely sympathize. As a child I didn't appreciate the uniqueness of my name, but I definitely do as an adult!

I must say that the message is beautiful, but so is the artwork! Rainbow's eyes alone are mesmerizing. This is definitely a story I would read to my students.

My 7 year old really liked this book. She liked that the girl realised she was unique and learned to appreciate her uniqueness. The illustrations were really good and she liked that they were bright which linked to rainbows name. She also liked that it had a slight rhyme to it.

Such a sweet and uplifting story about acceptance and pride. My children are going to love this and I hope it will help them always understand that we are all unique in our our way

A heart-warming read with vibrant pictures that will help kids relate better to the text. Hidden rhyming words in the story make it more engaging and the main topic can lead to discussions about loving our uniqueness and being accepting of others and ourselves. Powerful messages for young minds!

This rhyming picture book tells the story of a little girl with the name Rainbow. When Rainbow introduces herself to her new classmates they laugh at her name which makes Rainbow upset. As the story continues she begins to realize that her name is unique and she should be proud of it because it is a part of her identity. I think this is a great book for teaching children about diversity and the importance of names in different cultures. It also teaches about facing adversity and being confident in who you are. I would recommend this book to teachers and parents of children in the 4-8 age range. I so appreciate Netgalley and the publisher giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

For so many of us, being unique can equally be both a blessing and a curse. It can take a long time for us to embrace our own quirky differences and the things that set us apart from the crowd.

For a little girl named Rainbow, her name is the source of much teasing and torment from her classmates at school. Rainbow learns to love her name and how it is a part of who she is. She goes home upset and wishes she had a different name. Cue Mom, who helps her daughter learn to love the name she picked.

Diggs has crafted a story that celebrates the person we are, how we are wholly connected to our name, and that we can love every part of ourselves, even the parts we didn't get to choose for ourselves. This uplifting book reminds kids to be kind to others who may look or dress differently, have a different culture, or just a very colorfully unique name. A reminder to ignore the teasing and the haters and to hold your head high, Diggs vividly colorful book is just as vibrant as the main character she has created.

This story was both entertaining and educational, which can be a tricky balance to maintain in a childrenโ€™s book, and I will be suggesting it to teachers whenever possible. Incorporating social-emotional skills and topics such as this into children's picture books is a tried and true way to teach an important life skill in a way that is fun. This would be an amazing addition for classroom libraries, counselling offices and more.

A girl named rainbow is about a girl who has a unique name and gets made fun of at school. She learns to be proud of who she is and to love her name. For all those kids who maybe not always love their name or are made fun of. An uplifting read.

My daughter really enjoyed this book! She has a unique name and I thought this might help her for when she started school. She seemed to really understand the message and saw that no matter what she should confident in her name too. I felt, personally, that sometimes the rhyming seemed a little forced, or just disappeared completely, so I felt it could have done without it and gotten the message across. But, it is still a definite must read for any child!

This is a sweet story about a girl named Rainbow who is made fun of for her unique name. She goes home to her mom upset and wishes she had a different name. Her mother helps her learn to accept and celebrate her unique name, and the next day Rainbow goes to school with her head held high.

My 4 year old twin girls loved the bright illustrations, and they were happy Rainbow made a friend at the end who also had a unique name.

A Girl Named Rainbow was absolutely adorable. Rainbow is an adorable little girl with a unique name much like her personality, full of beautiful colors. Her classmates make fun of her name and it steals a little bit of Rainbow's joy and makes her want to change her name. I experience this when I was a child as well. The name "Whitney" was not as popular in my small town as names like, "Jessica" and "Ashley". I hated my name and I especially hated when all my friends had school supplies with their name on them but I could never find any with my name or even the letter "W". As children sometimes even the smallest thing can cause insecurities and bullying. This book is a great way for children to learn to embrace their differences and love themselves no matter how different they are. I highly recommend this book to children who are struggling to love their uniqueness.

The only problem I had with this book is the images of the characters in Native American costumes. Yes it's fun for kids to play dress up but that is someone's culture. That is why I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5.

Great story of a little girl who is made fun of for her name. Through the story she learns her name is beautiful regardless of what others think. I think its a great book to teach children to respect others.

A Girl Named Rainbow by Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs. I love reading childrenโ€™s ebooks to see which ones I would like to buy for my almost two year old granddaughter. I think this is a beautiful story about everyone being unique and different. Other children can be cruel sometimes. Adults parents, teachers and caregivers need to teach children to be kind and teach children to be kind to others. This book does that.

As someone whose name is often misspelled, this book spoke to me. What a charming read about embracing one's uniqueness and loving your differences! I loved the vibrant and beautiful illustrations as well as the representation.

I LOVED the illustrations. Bold, with attention to detail (when Rainbow is sad, so are her slippers). I'm afraid the illustrations stole the show (or the story, in this case), but the story was nice too. It imparted a good lesson of acceptance and understanding. And of course, I loved the happy ending.

A Girl Named Rainbow is a cute story. I loved the message inside of being able to accept yourself and what makes you unique. The illustrations are bright and stunning, they easily capture the eye of any young toddler.

I also really liked the moment when it talks about Rainbow needing space. I think that isn't something that toddlers seem to understand quiet and it's important to talk about, so this could bring up that talking point for many families.

It has a lovely message and is short enough to keep the attention of the smallest reader.
