Personally I really struggled with this book. I liked the idea behind it. The idea of the book is definitely a book that I would choose to pick up and read but, I just didn’t connect with the writing. It made me feel like someone was trying to convert me to something. However, I did enjoy the pictures throughout.

Brief, insightful book on the nature of love and our central role in creating a more loving world. As a person who values compassion (and self-compassion), this book provided an opportunity for validation that true love matters. The book does an especially good job of distinguishing true love from the love sometimes espoused by the religious. I am grateful to see a focus on more universal and unconditional love. It's not easy, but when we learn to love more authentically, we make it possible for others to do the same (and we change the world in the end). Thank you, School of Life, for your best book to date. I enjoy reading them all, but this book is the best of the best.

This book centers around recognizing love is not just for the romantics or your other half but there are lots of forms of love.

It also delves into.explaining how we started as a pure loving soul to becoming jaded and cynical in this world that we lived in -- just like me.

Did it somehow affect me to be more 'loving' in this chaotic world? Yes - a little. Did it made.me realize why I am this jaded and cynical about love when once I used to think i can also be Cinderella or Snow White? Yes - but still more jaded and cynical and grumpy like Uncle Scrooge than loving.

This is a book that you can pick up for an easy read. A book if you are trying to figure out who you are now about love and how you became.like that. The way this book tackles this is not in a scientific and self-help books approach but as a big hugger approach in time where you need it most - reason that I like this book.

Thanks Netgalley for granting me the permission to read this book. This is one of those reads that I will always look back to reading when feeling love is at its rock bottom.

This book deals with how to create love in a loveless world rife with partisanship, cruelty, and paranoia. Defines love, distinguishes it from romantic love. Discusses attitudes that foster a loving attitude towards people and attitudes that hinder a loving attitude. Discusses love in the paintings of various classic painters, such as Rembrandt. Photos of paintings. Full picture credits. This book was a little abstract for my taste. It would been more convincing if it contained real life examples from modern life.
