I would love to see this one turned into a movie! Jazzy needs all the help she can get when she enters a Cookie bake-off, so she asks the professional campfire cook, who's also a grumpy single dad.

I adored everything about this story, from watching the way Jazzy cares for everyone, especially her patients. Roan as a dad, who's suffered a huge loss, will win you over immediately.

I'll be reading this one every December and can't wait to bake some cookies to have on hand for the next time! If you love the warmth and comfort of Hallmark movies, you'll adore this book.

Lori Wilde does it again!
This was a really cute read! Fun small town romance w/ great Christmas spirit! While I really enjoyed the characters I did find the epilogue a little bizarre and wish the book had some campfire cookie recipes.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for a honest review. I would like to thank netgalley, the author Lori Wilde, and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book!

Holiday Romance, Humor, Family,

Jazzy Walker, a shy Pediatric Nurse, with a positive attitude believes everything and everyone can be fixed. After being dumped by her boyfriend who isn't compatible with her personality, he becomes engaged to her childhood nemesis, Andi Browning. Jazzy decides to leave her home town and become a Traveling Nurse. But, before she leaves, Jazzy wants to come in 1st place and beat Andi in the Christmas Cookie baking contest. Jazzy enters the Dutch Oven Cookie Challenge. The problem is that Jazzy can't bake.

Roan Sullivan, Cowboy Rancher, single dad, and winner of a cooking contest meets Jazzy while his 4 yr. old daughter is in the hospital. Ron's attracted to the much younger Jazzy's bubbly personality and compares her to his deceased wife, Claire, who was the opposite and suffered from Anxiety and needed constant emotional reassurance.

Jazzy wants Roan to teach her how to bake which he declines to do so until he hears Andi Browning taunting Jazzy telling her she's going to lose. Roan decides to help Jazzy win the contest before she leaves town. But as they spend time together, Roan's not sure he can't let the love shy Jazzy go as he opens his heart up to love again.

Christmas, cookies and cowboys?! Say less. This was such a cozy read, it needs to be adapted to a Hallmark movie.

The banter, the vibes, the tension and romance were impeccable. I adore Lori Wilde and her season books are perfect to include in your celebrations. Nothing compliments the holidays better than a Lori Wilde book and this one is top tier. Highly recommend.

Fun return to Twilight, Texas. Here we have pediatric nurse extraordinaire Jazzy Walker. The twenty-three-year-old nurse is well known for her cheery personality and positive attitude. The cheeriness has taken a little bit of a hit lately, as her boyfriend was stolen by her nemesis, Andi Browning. Jazzy would like nothing more than to finally beat Andi at something, so she enters this year's cookie bake-off. The problem? Jazzy can't bake to save her life, and this year's competition also involves baking over a campfire. Her only hope is talking the father of one of her patients into helping her.

Roan is the single father of a four-year-old little girl. He lost his wife two years earlier and gave up the competitive cooking that they did together. Instead, he devotes himself to his daughter, Trinity, and his ranch. His first reaction to Jazzy's request is a resounding "NO!" but it isn't long before he gives in to her pleas. Roan doesn't understand why he is so drawn to Jazzy. She's too young, nice, and optimistic for a grouchy old guy like him (he's thirty-three). But there is something about her that makes him wonder about the possibilities.

I liked watching the relationship develop between Roan and Jazzy. Roan is hesitant because of the age difference and his reluctance to risk his heart again. Jazzy makes no secret of her attraction to Roan and willingness for a rebound relationship. Jazzy is on a three-week vacation from work, so she has plenty of time for campfire cooking lessons from Roan. I loved Roan's patience as he helped Jazzy overcome her confidence issues when competing with Andi. The more time they spend together, the harder it is for Roan to resist Jazzy. However, his fears have him waffling about how he treats her - first kissing her silly, then pulling away.

Though Jazzy initially proposes the rebound relationship, it isn't long before she realizes she wants more. She tries to bury her feelings, believing Roan is still in love with his late wife. This is harder to do as she and Roan give in to their attraction, and she starts dreaming of a future together. One of the things I liked about seeing Jazzy and Roan together was how she brought some light back into his life. But when the competition is over, Roan lets his fears come between them. I ached for Jazzy and wanted to shake some sense into Roan. I was happy when he saw the light, but Jazzy should have made him work harder to get back into her life.

The cookie competition and rivalry between Jazzy and Andi were critical to the story. Andi was very unlikeable, and the more I learned about their history, the less I liked her. Andi's constant bullying of Jazzy was one of the motivations for Roan's decision to help Jazzy. I liked Jazzy's growing confidence and how Roan's support helped Jazzy let go of her hard feelings. I had fun watching Jazzy improve her skills while still being her somewhat klutzy self. I laughed at the happy accident that gave her the recipe she needed for the contest. The contest itself was a nail-biter. Several twists affected the outcome. Andi's actions didn't surprise me at all.

I enjoyed the secondary characters of Trinity and Charlie. Roan's daughter was adorable, and I understood his protectiveness after what he'd been through. Her love for her daddy was evident, and I liked how she made Jazzy part of their circle. Jazzy's best friend, Charlie, was great. He knows Jazzy very well and does his best to rein her in when she needs it. He is there when Jazzy needs him, whether it's dealing with Andi or heart-related issues. I also liked seeing characters from earlier books, including Jazzy's dad and stepmom.

A somewhat predictable, yet enjoyable Christmas romance. Lori Wilde has a formula that works and she follows it perfectly in this feel good book.

Jazzy Walker just wants to win one competition over her nemesis Andi Browning. From Girl Scout cookie sales to karaoke contests, Andi has won everything since grade school, even stealing Jazzy’s boyfriend Danny and getting engaged to him. The Christmas Campfire Cooking contest can be hers if she can just convince former Campfire cooking camp and local rancher, widower Roan Sullivan to teach her to bake on the campfire. Pediatric nurse, Jazzy cared for his daughter in the hospital after her tonsillectomy, so she thinks he owes her a favor.

The Cowboy Cookie Challenge is a sweet and spicy romance with lots of cheer and Christmas spirit. Jazzy and Roan are such perfectly flawed, but endearing characters and the storyline is beautifully written. The book is a great read for a snowy night with a cup of hot cocoa and some holiday cookies, of course!

This is a Christmas Cowboy Romance, and this is the 13th book in the Twilight, Texas series. I loved the romance in this book. I loved the characters so much, and the little girl in this book is just so cute. I also loved the little bit of Christmas in this book. I have never heard about campfire cooking cookies, but I love that this book had so much campfire cooking mixed in with the two main characters getting to know each other. I really enjoyed this book so much. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Avon Books) or author (Lori Wilde) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This book was fair. I skimmed a bit of it because it did not hold my interest. Jazzy’s constant perky personality became annoying quickly.

A cute holiday romance with likeable characters and a adorable 4 year old little girl.
Jazzy is a perky pediatric nurse trying to get over her best friend becoming engaged to Jazzy’s now ex-boyfriend. Roan is a single father to a 4 year old. HIs wife passed away 2 years ago and he is still trying to get over her loss.
The story is full of Christmas spirit.
Definitely a touching Christmas romance read.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Rancher and celebrity baker Roan agrees to help nurse Jazzy learn to bake campfire cookies for a local competition. Despite an attraction between them, Roan is concerned that his four-year-old daughter will grow too attached to Jazzy. Besides, Jazzy is planning to leave town in a few weeks for a new job. Can she and Roan resist the feelings growing between them?

I loved these characters as well as the intricate plot. Jazzy's relationship with Roan's daughter was adorable. This novel is a sweet, sensual, heartwarming holiday romance.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Are you in the mood for some holiday cheer? Then pick up a copy of The Cowboy Cookie Challenge by Lori Wilde. This small town romance is replete with campfire baking, Christmas delights and a cute as a button four-year-old.

Jazzy Walker loves her job as a pediatric nurse. Nursing the hospital's youngest patients brings her lots of happiness. Jazzy is quite mature for her twenty-three years and she proves it over and over again with her positive attitude. Unfortunately, Jazzy's arch nemesis is also a colleague, and she goes to great lengths to cause havoc in Jazzy's life. The town's annual cookie challenge is the latest circumstance Jazzy has been goaded into.

Roan Sullivan is a rancher, single dad and professional campfire chef. Jazzy took excellent care of his daughter when she was ill, and as a result, he agrees to help her prepare for the annual cookie bake-off. Teaching Jazzy to bake over a campfire evolves their newly formed friendship into much more. Overtime they fall into lust and love.

The charming book cover and book blurb is what drew me into this swoony romance. Jazzy and Roan are a likable couple and their sexy times are quite passionate. The secondary characters are interesting and added a lot of personality to the story. If you have an inkling for an age-gap romance with a bit of angst, you will enjoy this book.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher by NetGalley.

Ready for some Christmas romance with cookie baking? Lori Wilde has both of those in her newest novel in the Twilight, Texas series, The Cowboy Cookie Challenge in which effervescent Jazzy sees handsome single father-cowboy, Roan, across a crowded barroom and though the rest isn’t history, it’s close to it.

Although once best friends, Jazzy Walker and Andi Browning are now competitors, mostly on Andi’s side. She needs to constantly beat Jazzy. Wasn’t sleeping with Jazzy’s boyfriend enough? No, now she wants to beat Jazzy at the latest cookie challenge where she has the upper hand as she’s won it so many times in the past. But this year, Jazzy is determined to win, especially if she can get Roan Sullivan to teach her the ins and outs of baking cookies over an open fire.

The Cowboy Cookie Challenge has Christmas, a cute kid, and cookies. What more could you want? Well, for me, a better male main character because, despite the fact that he’s 10 years older than Jazzy, Roan’s waffling drove me crazy, feeling more like the behavior of a 23-year-old than 33. I would have loved it if he would have responded to Jazzy’s sunshine with a little of his own, come out of his shell, let his hair down. In the end, he really needed to do a grand gesture for his really bad behavior. It didn’t come. A disappointment.

Jazzy, on the other hand, was a great character. Optimistic, sweet, sunshine, and caring yet with a maturity that came from a childhood filled with sickness. Jazzy, you can do better than this guy! Wait until he grows up! 😉

This was fun but not the best it could have been compared to Lori Wilde’s usual offerings.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Cowboy Cookie Challenge. I love Lori Wilde's Twilight, Texas series and we've come full circle with Jazzy Walker. I remember her being the little girl in The First Love Cookie Club which was an absolute delight.

I loved Jazzy in The Cowboy Cookie Challenge. I loved her positivity, her ability to forgive and to see the best in people. And Roan, his desire to protect and put his daughter first is very admirable. And speaking of his daughter, Trinity was adorable. She stole the show.

If you're looking for a heartwarming holiday read, I recommend The Cowboy Cookie Challenge.

The Cowboy Cookie Challenge by Lori Wilder is a romance but is far from serious. Jazzy is a pediatric nurse and everyone’s favorite. Just that day she had caught a man who was about to pass out from the stress associated with being in the hospital with his daughter, who had her tonsils out. He was still recovering from his wife dying in a hospital several years earlier. She was in the bar telling the story to her friend, Charlie, who worked in the emergency room, when who should walk in but a gorgeous cowboy who turned out to be the dad in question. She went over to check and see if he was OK and asked him out. She always thought she could fix everyone. He told her he didn’t go on pity dates. Just then her ex and his new fiancee walked in and made her feel terrible. She always lost to Andi, even Danny. Right then she decided that she was going to enter the Dutch Oven Cookie Challenge, just to win something. Could she bake? No. Did she know anything about Dutch Ovens? No. It turned out the dad, Roan, had been a champion. She went to beg him to help her. He told her no but did tell her he and his wife had made some videos and he could repost them on YouTube so she could see them. She did and it was a lot harder than it looked.

Jazzy and Roan turned out to be good pair. It took some getting over hangups: Roan thought the age difference was too great. Jazzy really was sunshine in a human body: such a positive attitude. Roan was a mature man who had learned a lot in his life. The were well-written characters who melded well with one another. The plot was what one would expect of a romance plot, but there were a few twists and turns. The cookie challenge and the whole situation with Jazzy’s competition with Andi, or maybe it was the other way around, made an entertaining diversion in the story. All in all, it was a good read. Positive and light. Not to mention, hot.
