Yep, ya gotta love those tall, lanky cowboys!! I knew this one would be good and I wasn't disappointed! I have always loved Lori Wilde's books, so whenever I get the chance to read one, I don't hesitate!! This was a good one, right up there with all her other books. It was whimsical, funny, heart-warming, just a lot of fun. I highly recommend this one, whether you're a Lori Wilde fan or not. Even if you're, I bet you will be once you read this one!! Looking forward to reading more by her!!

Im disappointed because it was not quite what the synopsis led me to believe. The immature rivalry between Jazzy and Andi was so cringey. Jazzy’s eternal optimism was exhausting and very one-note as a character. Even her petty side wasn’t that petty. There were moments that it was so inspirational that I thought someone was going to start speaking in tongues and instead, the main characters have sex and give her her first orgasm. Roan is barely in his 30s and acts like he’s 50. The two of them together made bo sense at all.

This author is new to me, but what a book! I found the town charming, the characters believable & the "challenge" unique & fun! I was hooked in the first few chapters, due to Jazzy's sweet heart and caring demeanor.

Jazzy Walker is 22 and a pediatric nurse. She meets Roan, who is a widow, when his four year old daughter is in the hospital for a tonsillectomy. She is known for her positivity and seeing the good in others. He’s ten years older and barely meets my okay range for age gap romances. Jazzy decides to enter a campfire cookie competition because of an ongoing rivalry with a fellow nurse who has one upped her forever. Roan it turns out use to be a champion campfire chef. And he agrees to teach her.

The whole romance takes place in just a few weeks before Christmas. So it is going to be instant attraction. It is complicated by Jazzy being Roan’s first romance since his wife who was his high school sweetheart died. Roan is also concern about the age gap and that Jazzy has only been with high school sweetheart. The guy broke things off with her to be with her rival. The romance is sweet and they talk things out somewhat before leaping into intimacy.

This is the 13th in an ongoing Twilight Texas series by the author. In fact, the third book in the series was the romance of Jazzy’s dad and stepmother. Most of the books are holiday romances. If you follow the series and want to stay up on the characters you’ll want to read this book. (I’ve read a few of the series.) I liked the story but some of the phrases felt immature or at times cliche. Roan refers to his raging boner and later suggests she is confused in her feelings because he gave her her first orgasm. Eww. Honestly Jazzy felt more mature than Roan at times. Still a good romance set during Christmas time. I love Christmas and am obsessed with Hallmark movies. The cover of this book speaks to all of that and immediately drew me in.

That being said the dialogue, characters and even some of the scenes left me wildly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this was a DNF and DNR (do not finish, do not recommend) for me.

I really enjoyed this book. I love reading Christmas books all year round. Reading this one was fun. It had laughter, starting over new from failed relationships, and fun. I really loved Trinity, I thought she was too cute. I am grateful that netgalley let me read this in exchange for an honest review

The Cowboy Cookie Challenge is a romance about a woman who enters a cookie contest and gets a local widow to help her learn how to campfire cook. It is a nice quick read with likable characters. Personally, it did not really work for me, I am not sure if it was Jazzy's always positive attitude or the villain's never-ending quest to ruin Jazzy, but it just did not click. I did really like Roan, he comes across as sincere and just a really good guy. I wish they would have included some recipes for the cookies they made. Overall it is not bad for a cowboy-themed romance.

Entertaining, sweet and the perfect Christmas read. Second chance at romance for both H and h.
I really enjoyed the cookie contest aspect and the competitive spirit of the heroine. I always enjoy a visit to this town.

I will give an honest viewpoint , I couldn’t read this whole book. This is the first time trying a title from this author but I just couldn’t get into the storyline and I did not connect with the two main characters. I mostly skimmed through the rest of the book. Jazzy and Roan are a terrific couple. Jazzy is a funny, caring and loyal pediatric nurse. Roan is a dedicated single dad. The writing is phenomenal. t was interesting learning how to bake cookies in a Dutch Oven over an open fire. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. In the small town of Twilight, Texas, Andi consistently bests whatever Jazzy does, including becoming engaged to Jazzy's high school sweetheart. When Andi goads Jazzy into entering the Christmas charity Cowboy Cookie Challenge, Jazzy knows she's going to need help - she doesn't bake and has no idea about campfire cooking. When she finds out that one of her pediatric patient's dads is a campfire chef, she hopes she'll be able to convince him to help her. The dad, Roan, is a widower and not interested in helping. Once the campfire baking starts, the relationship gets steamy -- another great story from Lori Wilde that I highly recommend.

For Christmas in July, this should be in your list of to be read books. Roan and Jazzy are a great couple to fall in love with and they fall in love while working to compete in a cooking contest that ramps up the sizzle in heat.

I loved this sweet romance. Jazzy was the pediatric nurse treating single dad Roan's daughter. Jazzy has a positive and bubbly personality that some mistake for weakness. Roan is drawn to her and she is drawn to his steadiness. When he reluctantly agrees to teach her how to bake on an open fire, their relationship grows. It is not without hurdles and both must work to battle their pasts. This would be a perfect holiday read but can be enjoyed anytime. I read this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jazzy is a person, who always has a positive attitude. There is only one thing she hates, loosing and she did lost few times to Andi, who stole her boyfriend. Now she can win cookie competition, she needs help and that person, will not help her.
Roan is a single dad, when Jazzy asks him to teach her to make cookies on campfire, he says no, but that changes.
Enjoyed reading this book, loved Jazzy personality.

Really steamy sexy sparks, too. Jazzy has such a positive outlook and bubbly personality that makes her a very engaging and delightful character. She’s not a caricature. She explains that she became a real optimist after a serious childhood illness gave her perspective. So she’s a character to enjoy.

Roan is a hunky rancher whose wife has died leaving him with a 4 year old daughter. Aside from being a hunk, the way he puts his daughter first is endearing as are many of his other traits.

It was a bit bizarre that Roan drove to and described Jazzy’s house early in the book, at 31%, and then at the middle, at 62%, he has to ask her for directions and describes the house again.
Then at 61% they stop at the pharmacy and at 62% he offers to run to the pharmacy for her. Not a big deal but it was somewhat jarring, although, and this is important, I read an uncorrected proof so the discrepancies might be fixed in the final version.

This was a lovely and ultimately sexy tale. Lori Wilde can always be counted on to give us this kind of a treat! I would unreservedly recommend this book.
