This is a bit in the slow burn slopes but watching them resist, give in, patch their past and plan for the future was adorable. And OMG that epilogue countdown is one of my favorites! It suits them so perfectly. Found it very different and original of him! I squealed and melted into a pile of goo!!

Piper and Sam were gold together! I loved that the story delved into the world of audiobook narration - what a fun situation! I always like when an author gets creative in the setting so this was totally new to me and so fun to learn about. I also loved that this is a brother's best friend trope and a second chance romance so we get to see what happened in the years since the couple broke up and how that break up affected the brother and the family.

Piper and Sam have been circling near each other but never quite overlapping for years (since the break up) so this story finally puts them in each others path and gives them some forced proximity goodness, some mega steamy dialogue, some real feelings, some professional ambitions that may contradict each other, and some small town goodness. The story was upbeat and fast, there were some heavy moments but the author helped make them easy to read and enjoyable. The steam was off the charts awesome. These two had chemistry, great banter, the story was smart, fun and something I recommend.

I hope this is a series because I'd love to see what happens with more of this fun family!

This book has a cute set-up. Piper, a struggling voice actress, is back in her hometown to help her family, as her mom is pregnant with her 11th (!) child. Sam, a firefighter who's also running for mayor, is her ex she can't stand—and her brother's best friend. Piper would rather avoid him, but their paths keep crossing.

Piper has the audition of a lifetime for a powerful audiobook producer—but she needs a partner because the book has dual narration. Sam volunteers to help. They broke up in high school seven years prior. Or, technically, it was supposed to be a break, but Piper didn't communicate that well. Sam ended up kissing someone else the next day because he thought they were over. Piper still holds this against him, but when Sam offers to help with her audition, she's desperate enough to agree. It turns out the audiobook is quite steamy...and spending time together brings a lot of old feelings back to the surface.

With entertaining banter, plenty of steam, and a huge cast of characters, this was a fun read.

I definitely am more in the friends to lovers camp versus enemies to lovers. This one, kind of tries to be both of those, and, weirdly, it works. Small town, big family drama drawing back together two former high school sweethearts. This is cute, smart, fun, and with good characters throughout.

I was immediately drawn to Talk Flirty To Me because it contains so many tropes that are just my faves: brother’s best friend, second chance, workplace-induced forced proximity, hot firefighters (is that an official trope? It should be) and, of course, the audio narration of a naughty book! Each of these elements works like a charm–especially when told through the snarky, charming, and often vulnerable characters of Piper and Sam. Throw in the loving, chaotic Bellini family, a local election, and career dreams on the line, and Livy Hart gives us a story that runs on all cylinders from start to finish!

But with Talk Flirty To Me, I came for the tropes and stayed for the really beautiful compassion that highlights interactions between all of the characters. Despite their messy past and layers of hurt feelings and misunderstanding, Piper and Sam want what is best for each other, even when they don’t want to admit it out loud. It’s a pleasure to watch their tense interactions turn softer with every meeting, until they manage to put aside what may have happened between them when they were younger in hopes of creating something new in the present.

For me, the spice level of this book is simply *chef’s kiss*-- the attraction and flirtation between these two before they finally get in could light the page on fire, and it only gets better from there.

Talk Flirt To Me is a funny, smart, sassy, sexy book that was truly a joy from start to finish.

This is the debut novel for Livy Hart. I really enjoyed the story, the characters and her writing style. I'm not usually a fan of contemporary romances but this one has a lot of great tropes and made me laugh and cry. Tropes include sibling's best friend, second chance romance, and only one bed. This book had probably the best epilogue I've read in a long time (maybe ever).

Such a fun debut novel. This is second chance romance with some other tropes throw in as well; best friend of brother and stuck at hotel with only one bed. Piper Bellini has returned home to help her family while mom prepares for her 11th child. Piper is trying to have a career as a voice actress and has had some success. She runs into Sam O’Shea at the town bar. He broke her heart in high school seven years ago. He was a senior and she was a junior. To encourage him to go on to college she pauses their relationship only to quickly find him hooking up with someone else. Yes there are lot of Ross and Rachel jokes of whether they were on a break.

Sam is back being best friends with her brother and trying to get in good graces with her family. The main set up is that Piper gets the audition of a life-time for a multi book deal but she has to have a male partner. Sam of course volunteers throwing them together. And of course spending time together stirs old feelings and things are going to get steamy. Sam is a busy guy working as a fireman and also running for town mayor.

I will say they both at times come off as being immature. They are only 24-25 and neither has had real meaningful relationship since they were together. Also you have to suspend belief that he is a natural at voice work. Sam is also young to be running for mayor and having his father grooming him to take over as fire chief. All that a side they are cute together. The story is told alternating from both POVs and of course they have to learn to communicate to resolve their past issues and move forward. I enjoyed Piper’s family dynamics and antics but found her brother’s self importance annoying. Overall a solid contemporary romance with heat, humor and minimal angst.

This was a really fun and steamy second chance romance with a great storyline! Piper and Sam are ex high school sweethearts. They had a heated break-up when Sam got caught cheating while the two were 'on a break' ('Friends' fans unite).

Now the two are thrown together again when Sam agrees to go to a voice-over audition with Piper, and they get the gig. What Sam and Piper didn't know was that they'd be signing on to dub an audiobook of a spicy romance.

There are so many amazing things about this book! The banter between our main characters is fantastic, and Piper's amazingly large family (10 brothers) almost all under one roof gives so many comedic moments. Sam's distress over trying to get back in the good graces of her family, who he used to be so close to, is so heartening to watch. And watching the two of them try to deny their feelings for each other while reading spicy dialogue is just the definition of a good time.

I loved this one a lot, and am excited to read more from this debut author!

This book is Livy Hart's debut novel and I absolutely devoured it. It was a quick and easy read with a cute second chance romance, a best friends brother trope, sort of a hate to love trope and the one bed trope at some point in the book all rolled into one. It was, to be quite honest, one of the most well-written adult romance books I've read this year.

Sam and Piper were both really interesting to read about. They both had their moments of stupidity, mostly during their teen years which we can obviously blame on their youth. But some of the things Piper says and does was a little immature at times, especially when it came to getting Sam to continue recording the audiobooks with her. And Sam, the overachiever that he is (I totally relate to this), was also a little hasty in some things. Their romance was definitely there, the chemistry believable and at times electric. But I feel like the absolute chaos surrounding their families kind of overshadowed their romance a tiny bit. Not that I didn't love Piper's family, I did, Kat, Jane and Caleb and Nonna stole my heart, but I feel like they had a little too much 'screen time' so to speak.

Again, I loved the book. The fact that it was easy for me to read and I actually could relate to both the main characters was another bonus. I just wish the book had been either a little longer or with a few scenes cut out so we could properly see the relationship between Sam and Piper develop all over again.

When Piper returns home to help her mother with her pregnancy and other siblings (we are talking GIANT ITALIAN FAMILY HERE), it is inevitable that she will run into her ex-boyfriend Sam. Sam was Piper's brother's best friend, until their relationship ended and Caleb chose Piper's side, and the two recently reconnected.

Piper, a voice actress, is desperate to audition for an audiobook gig, but the problem is, it has to be a pair. As in, she needs a male partner. Sam offers to step in and help. Running for mayor, Sam needs Piper's city council woman mother's endorsement for his campaign. And when the two land Piper's dream job, they learn the book is an erotic romance novel, meaning they must narrate steamy lines in Piper's small soundproof closet together as old feelings resurface.

No problem, right?

This book is so wonderful. I loved every second of it (except for the second I imagined having as many children as the Bellinis and then I nearly had a stroke). I have recently come to realize how much I love the sibling's best friend trope (I personally believe it is superior to best friend's sibling, but that's just me). Piper and Sam have such fantastic chemistry. And there's something about a second chance romance, when that former attraction and all those feelings are just right there at the surface from the get go. *Chef's kiss*

Make sure you get this book! You don't want to miss it!

It felt like a 90s rom com, the perfect mix of humour and heart to distract from (waves hand around emphatically) all this.
I really enjoyed Livi’s smart humor. She is seriously talented and has a way with her words. I felt myself smiling through the whole book. If your looking for something that is light and funny that will make you believe that sometimes it takes a second chance to find true love, this is your book.

I wanted to like this one - I felt like there was so much potential, but it got dragged down by (in my opinion) over-stressing the family element, and not highlighting the romance elements enough. Or maybe it's the marketing. Market this as "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"-esque, but not as a dirty talking romance with almost no dirty talk.

The premise of this book was very cute and I do like a second chance romance + a brother's best friend trope but there were a few things about this book that did not work as well for me.
Piper Bellini is unemployed and mired down with college loans. She's a struggling voice artist and when she gets a chance to audition for an amazing opportunity, she's super excited...except that there's one catch. She needs a partner to audition with her. Enter Sam, her brother's best friend, her high school ex-boyfriend, firefighter, mayoral candidate.

Sam and Piper broke up in high school when Piper told Sam she needed a break (cue the Friends reference) and Sam, just days later, was caught in a very compromising position with a friend of Piper's. (I can hear Ross Gellar yelling "WE WERE ON A BREAK!") .

Aaaanyway, so these two basically broke up because they were bad at communicating which, they were high schoolers so I can cut them some slack. But cut to 7 years later and Piper is still holding a grudge against Sam, who due to all of these events, has basically been forced to avoid her entire family and his best friendship with Piper's brother ended because of Piper. I didn't really love this part of the storyline at all because quite frankly, I get that Piper was upset over Sam making out with one of her friends mere days after they broke up but she also dumps Sam with no rhyme or reason, doesn't explain ANYTHING about how she's feeling or why she's ending things. She just says it's over and that's it. Basically, these two were understandably immature high schoolers but in 7 years, I expected some wisdom and growth and maturity that comes with distance and age and it felt like Piper had very little emotional growth.

This is even more weird because Piper moves in with her parents to help take care of her many siblings (she's the only sister out of 11? kids) and her mom is pregnant again. Oof, that was a lot to handle. I am glad that the end of the book has Piper realizing she has a habit of hiding her true feelings and making decisions in Sam's best interests without actually ever consulting him about it. I don't love when 1 MC makes decisions in the best interest of the other MC without talking to them - it feels very high handed and patronizing.

I don't say this often but in this book, I actually ended up liking Sam, the MMC, more. Was he perfect? No. But he was willing to fight for the relationship and meet Piper halfway and it took a long time before Piper seemed to get on board with that and accept her share of what went wrong in their past. And I think her actions causing Sam to be completely ostracized by her whole family and basically end his best friendship with her brother was heartbreaking and I wish Piper had taken some more onus of all of that.

All in all, I love this particular trope but the execution missed a bit for me. However, I liked the author's voice a lot and would definitely read her again.

How I loved this book, let me count the ways.
Piper is back in town staying with her family because her mom is having her 11th child. She is hoping upon hope to not run into her ex, Sam, but of course that hope turns to dust the first night she goes out. Seeing Sam again brings back so many memories, and not all of them good.
Sam is Piper's brother, Caleb's best friend. The fallout of what happened between them all those years ago put a wedge between them too. They just recently started talking again and making up for lost time. Sam wants to bury the hatchet, try to be civil and also make amends with her family because he needs a favor.
When a big opportunity for Piper comes up, the only person there to help is Sam. Sam knows nothing about audiobook narration, but that doesn't matter because they chemistry these two have makes up for that in spades. Sam can't say no to Piper, especially when he knows this is her dream, but he's tryng to juggle too much and something is about to fall.
There were misunderstandings that happened when they were kids, I could relate tremendously. While it isn't one of my favorite reasons for a fallout, I absolutely adored Piper and Sam as grown ups trying to navigate the family, work and relationship pressures. Trying to give each other space as well as open up to the one person that broke you years ago. It's scary, but these two, Sam especially, have my heart. I raced through this book because I didn't want to come out of the feels I was in. I can't wait to read more books by Livy Hart!

This was second chance romance, slow burn, and a smidge of enemies to lovers all rolled up into one delightful story. I love how Piper and Sam came back to each other after the miscommunication from their past. It was great to see them as adults. Piper also comes from a huge Italian family and her and her siblings, parents and Nonna were so much fun. What was also great is the fact that this book centers around audiobook narration and it was cool to look more into that field. It was basically a book within a book and it was wonderful. Sam and Piper were both flawed at points, but really grew by the end of the book. The tension was absolutely blissful and the spice was even better. Highly recommend this one and I loved it so much!

“Anything can be a weapon if you believe in yourself” — and with that I was in, ready to be friends with Piper and read her story. Former lovers turned enemies after a bad breakup (full of misunderstanding!) meet again years later and need each other’s help. Piper and Sam reeled me in as we read along to see how they will deal with being in each other’s lives again, and work together. Some challenges to overcome, certainly, but they are open with each other about a few things — no big “lie of omission” about motives to stick around and really throw things off in a formulaic way. And they work up to it for those other challenges. Some great spicy scenes along with some difficult, emotional ones. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll spare the details, but wow, the last quarter of the book? Rollercoaster! Completely unpredictable! Drama! Can’t put this book down drama! I thoroughly enjoyed.

Is this the book you want to read? Yes, yes it is. A second chance romance, sparks flying, a horde of siblings, and a hotel room on a stormy night with just one bed.

you guys. what a wonderful start to may. i am genuinely in shock by how good this book was. when i found out it was two people reading an erotica audiobook i was sold. BUT IT WAS ALSO A SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE. BROTHERS BEST FRIEND. PINING. ONE BED TROPE. COMFORT TROPE. ITS ALWAYS BEEN YOU. FOUND FAMILY. DUAL POV. MUST I GO ON??

i thoroughly enjoyed this book! my only qualms were that i wish we got more scenes of the audiobook tension bc *chefs kiss* so good. but i really loved the characters and the plot and everything about it i would highly recommend if you need to get out of a reading slump!
