I am in love with Talk Flirty to Me!
This book is so cute and engaging. I could not put it down until I've finished it. The plot of second chance is something I really enjoyed, and I think that the writer creates and develops the story incredibly well. Both Sam and Piper are real and intense characters. During the book, they grow so much and see what is really important in their lives. I also loved the audiobook part, when they start working together reading the erotic romance - which is really steamy - I could not stop laughing with their reactions. Also the entire Bellini family is so adorable, I would love to see more books about the other brothers and Nonna. This is a book about love, relationships, forgiveness and new beginnings. And I really recommend it!

"Here's the thing about broken trust: it doesn't matter what happens the next month, or even seven years later. Every little breach from the moment of the first break feels bigger than the last. It's a virus that lays dormant, waiting to flare up again."

What You'll Find:
✔️Romantic Comedy
✔️Second Chance
✔️Brother's Bestfriend
✔️Slow Burn
✔️Dual POV

Piper has returned home to help with her mom's pregnancy and care for her younger siblings. She's hoping some time away will help her refocus on her career as an audiobook narrator. When the audiobook deal of the century lands in her lap, she decides to face the ex she hoped to avoid by working together. Soon the chemistry is not just in the story lines they narrate. Forcing them to face their past.

Talk Flirty To Me was a really fun read. I had no idea this was a debut and thought it was quite well written! I was pulled in from the start. There's a edge of anticipation, leaving you on the edge of your seat, guessing what happened in their past. Piper and Sam start this story with a banter that will keep you turning the pages, and then lead you to some serious chemistry. It slow burns into some great heat that I was here for! But also dives into some feelings and emotion too.

There were little things I didn't love, more personal hang-ups than anything. And while there is some good narrating scenes, I secretly hoped for more heated ones. All ME problems. Overall this story has all the feels, with some great humor, big family side characters, and even some angst and emotion. Would recommend checking out on release day if this sounds like your jam!

Piper Bellini, a struggling voice actress, is back home to help her family when her mother is pregnant with her 11th child (BIG FAMILY, lol). But, being back in town has her dealing with being around her ex-boyfriend from high school Sam O’Shea.

Piper and Sam’s breakup wasn’t pretty, mainly because Sam was best friends with Piper’s older brother and their breakup caused a rift between the boys that has taken years to mend.

Piper doesn’t want to cause friction between them again, and the best way to do that is to avoid Sam at all costs. Something that becomes harder to do when Piper has a fantastic job opportunity but needs Sam’s help to get it.

Livy Hart’s debut novel is a sweet, funny rom-com about a couple finding their way back to each other after years of miscommunication and realizing the love has always been there.

The novel is not without its problems like any book. It took a bit for me to really get into it, and there were times when Piper, in particular, drove me nuts. But by the 40% mark, I was happy I stuck with it and enjoyed myself. Sure it’s a bit predictable, but that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of the read.

I will keep an eye out for Ms. Hart’s future books. I’m sure we’ll get more fun reads from her.

Review: Talk Flirty to Me by Livy Hart
Genre: Romance
Rating: 5/5 stars

Tropes:
- Brothers best friend
- Second chance romance
- Enemies/Exs to lovers
- Close proximity
- Shared bed

Synopsis: Talk Flirty to Me begins with Piper Bellini, an aspiring audiobook narrator who moves back to her small town in Massachusetts to help her mother who is pregnant with her 11th(!) child. There, she encounters someone from her past whom she would rather not run into, her brother’s best friend and the ex who broke her heart seven years ago, Sam O'Shea. Sam is now a hunky firefighter who is running for Mayor.

When the opportunity of her dreams opens up, Piper can hardly contain her excitement. An open casting call from some of the biggest producers in the business. The catch? They’re looking for a man/woman duo to read. Sam, who recently rekindled his friendship with Piper’s brother, is looking for a way to get back on the rest of the Bellini clan's good side, especially Piper’s mother and city counsel woman, Catherine. What better way to get in their good graces but to help out Piper and get a winning endorsement from her? But when they discover the book is a steamy romance novel, can they keep it professional? Or do the old flames of desire return for a second chance at love?

Review: I am OBSESSED with Livy Hart’s debut novel, Talk Flirty to Me. This book is the perfect combination of plot, romance, and a bit of spice and gives you all the feels. I would like to order my own Sam please! I also had no idea until after I finished that this is Hart's debut novel. She writes like someone who has been doing it for years! I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more from her in the future!

This story is told with dual POV, which I am finding I really enjoy with romance novels. Getting to know what is going on in both characters’ heads really enhances the story. With Talk Flirty to Me, this really helped the reader understand both of their interpretations of the past and what went wrong in their relationship. In a fitting call out to Friend’s, we discover the destruction of their teenage love was due to a misunderstanding of “on a break” vs “breakup” situation.

Hart writes characters who are so relatable and easy to connect with. I absolutely adore Piper and could see myself in her character. She takes on everything for everyone else but has a hard time asking for help for herself and when she has problems, she will withdraw and hold in her feelings. Piper never wants to be a burden for someone else or get in the way. Sam is also easy to love. He’s a guy who wants to do all things. Of course he can be a fire fighter, and the mayor, and sure! Let’s add in this project with Piper on the side. Doesn’t hurt that he’s a tall drink of water either!

While there was a large theme of miscommunication/lack of communication to the book, it was so well done that it didn’t feel like that trope. Instead, we have characters who are so relatable in their feelings and why they’re holding something back. They actually do a great job in communicating some things right away (like his mayoral candidacy and him wanting her to put in a good word with her mom) and a realistic job in the things they don’t tell right away. It is also a major part of Piper's characters growth in learning how to express herself. If miscommunication trope was always written like this, I think I would actually become a fan.

When it comes to their relationship and chemistry, all I can say is Hart writes tension so thick, you can cut it with a knife. The scenes where they read steamy passages from the book while still not wanting to cross that line are soooo good. Livy has a way of writing that makes you FEEL what the characters are going through. You experience the utter heartbreak of a 17 year old and the hurt she still has all these years later. The desire and wanting what you can't have and the yearning for the impossible. The tension and chemistry between Piper and Sam is nearly tactile. The back seat of the van scene? Incredible. When we finally got the spice, boy did she deliver! Our man Sam knows what he is doing.

What I really appreciate in this book is how great of a story we have outside of their relationship as well. There is a great plot that develops with their audiobook project, his run for mayor, and her family drama. This book does such a great job in making these all feel realistic as well. The drama from both of their home responsibilities feels like something anyone could have (okay, maybe we won’t all run for mayor, but we can relate to taking on too much on our plates). This book was such a fantastic combination of plot and love story!

Hart kept the writing strong to the end, with an Epilogue that was so touching I started tearing up. I loved this book so much and can’t wait to read more from Livy Hart!

Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC. for allowing me to read this arc.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book gripped me from the synopsis. Firefighters. Audiobook narrators. Steamy scenes. Second chance romance. Yes! The synopsis was definitely written for me. I really connected with the writing, so I will definitely be picking up another read by Livy Hart in the future. The chemistry and the steam was also there in full force. I have definitely read steamier books in general but the build up between the two characters was everything! You could feel the tension and chemistry from the start and it is STRONG! I loved it.

The only thing that prevented me from not giving this book 5 stars was because of one aspect of the story in general. I do not think this is a spoiler since it is talked about very early on in the book and not really a plot twist. The synopsis says that this story is a second chance romance between Sam and Piper and how they record steamy romance audiobooks together. That is not really what this book is about.

The book mainly focuses around Sam and Piper's reconnection as Piper moves back into town to help her family, while Sam runs for Mayor. The audiobook storyline is really just in the background. The times when they are recording these books is heavily glossed over for most of the book. So I think that the synopsis in general is very misleading and lacks what this book is actually about. I think if the synopsis was better this would have been 5 stars for me because I would have been going into this with proper expectations, rather than going in thinking that this was about two people reading steaming audiobooks.

This book grabbed me from page 1. Piper wants to break into the field of recording audiobooks. Until that happens she moves home to help her mom who is pregnant with another sibling. The trouble is, once she moved home she runs into Sam - the high school love who broke her heart - everywhere. Even her own home as he and her brother (traitor) are besties. Sam has a lot on his plate with being a firefighter and his desire to become mayor. Due to circumstances outside of Piper's control, Sam reads with her for a dream audio book deal.

And now the sparks fly! Will they work through the misunderstandings of the past to rekindle love?

This was such a cute read! I fell for Sam the first moment I met him. If he was real, I would totally buy all the audio books he narrated. Piper was an incredible character and I thoroughly enjoyed my insight into her life. Her family sounds so chaotic and hilarious, and their interactions were some of my favorite parts of the story.

The book was a little cliche, but I loved it anyway.

Piper bellini moves back home for work because she’s broke she goes into a bar and bump’s into her ex Sam O’Shea who she broke up with in high school and he’s her brother’s best friend but her brother took her side when they broke up but piper needs sam’s help for her dream job narrator for audio books but this is for erotic romance but they soon have trouble hiding their feelings for each other and keeping their hands off each other
I couldn’t put this book down it highly recommend

Talk Flirty to Me could be the best RomCom I've read all year! Livy Hart knocked it out of the park with her Talk Flirty to Me. Hart had me cracking up laughing out loud with some outstanding banter between Sam and Piper! I absolutely loved the storyline between Sam and Piper that I seriously could not put it down and stayed up WAY past my bedtime reading. This is the kind of novel that has you setting your alarm an hour before you have to get up so you can read in bed to get more chapters in!

Piper and Sam are ex's who find themselves in the most awkward situation possible narrating a steamy audiobook in close quarters! The angst in their characters storyline starts to cross over into their own storyline and the rest is history! I knew it was going to be good when Hart references Ruby Woo and Target Jeans in the first chapter of her book, but what I love most about our heroine is she developed Piper into a STRONG, independent and family oriented female lead! She's not flighty, she can hold her own and above all...she is kind and loving to all!

Livy Hart has become an instant purchase for me moving forward...if you love Tessa Bailey or Abby Jimenez's writing, Livy will most definitely join their ranks in your heart too! I was about 6 chapters into my advanced reader copy when I went ahead and pre-ordered it because I already knew before I had finished it, I would want to re-read it again! 10/10 Must Read

Talk Flirty to me by Livy Hart

The author is new to me so I went into the book with an open mind but I really didn't expect not to connect with the Piper Bellini and Sam and I really tried to do so but there was too much going on. So with that being said I give the book a 3.5 star review.

The two used to be a couple in high school but broke up and this caused a rift last 10 years. Ever the loyal brother, Caleb, stayed away from his BF so when she comes back home after losing her job Sam is invited back to a family dinner. From there both Piper and Sam agree to a voice audition for books which goes well until it interferes with his quest to be Mayor and his firefighter job.

There's just too much back and forth between the H/h , family drama especially Sam's dad, crooked politics and a lot of other drama. I really hate leaving under 4 stars reviews.

Talk Flirty to Me is about Piper Bellini, eldest and only daughter of a family of chaotic brothers, and her high-school sweetheart Sam O'Shea, the best friend of her oldest brother.
Piper and Sam tried out relationship territory in high school for two years. The entire thing might have worked out perfectly, seeing as he is also her brother's best friend, but it all ended in a tragic misunderstanding. Piper is a year younger than Sam and therefore, he graduated when she started her last year of school. She asked for a break right after Sam received all his letters from the universities he applied for.
Both of them were heartbroken about the end of their relationship, because, as they both reveal throughout the book, they have been madly in love with each other then. The entire Bellini family – or let's say Piper's older brother Caleb Bellini and both her parents – held a grudge against Sam since the break-up happened. Piper left the city and became a voice actress; not a very successful one at that. But her mother is now pregnant with the 11th Bellini child and Piper comes back home to help and support her family. With shock, she has to realise that her brother Caleb and Sam made up for the past and just about became best friends again. In consequence, Sam is a potent part of Piper's life once more.
Sam O'Shea became a firefighter and this very year wants to apply for the election of the town's mayor. Seeing as Piper's mother is part of the city council, he wants to get on her good side again to raise his odds of winning. Since Piper just caught the job of her dreams and needs a male lead along with her, Sam sees his opening. He'll help her if she will help him to get in the good graces of her mother again.
Obviously, a lot of talking has to be done. It doesn't get any easier once the both of them discover what kind of audiobook they'll be producing… Along the way, Sam must reorder his priorities and reorganise the people he holds dear. Piper needs to see the reality for what it is and open up to the world and the people around her.
They might find their one true solution to living to both their full potentials in each other.

what to find in this book:
- mutual pining
- brother’s best friend
- secret relationship
- second chance

CONCLUSION
This book really shows how important it is to have a net of arms of the people we love ready to catch and steady us. We get to see the hardships of both Piper's and Sam's perspectives, allowing us to understand what went wrong the first time and what is holding them back now. Their choices, desires and the complete collections of their other emotions is part of why I fell in love with this book.
The chapters weren't too short or too long and the language was perfectly understandable. It was easy to get into the book – it sets off right in the middle of it all, more or less. This was a page turner at its finest, and the fact that I read this in one day speaks volumes! 5⭐

Piper Bellini is a voice actor that just cannot catch a proper gig to set of her dream job. Sam O'Shea is a firefighter currently hoping to run for mayor.
What do these two have in common? well, they are exes...
It's been 7 years since "The Incident", and now they're in close proximity again, hoping to help each other in their dream careers. but the hardest part? keeping their feelings out of it...

i thought this to be an incredibly sweet story 🥺 for two people who haven't seen or spoken to each other in 7 years, after "The Incident", their conversations held maturity and the perfect amount of bantering.
it's a second chance romance with the brother's best friend trope, a little bit of past miscommunication aswell but that gets quickly resolved (think Ross and Rachel)

the setting of the story was just perfectly done. i adored the idea of a m/f romance narrating atmosphere, along with the family relationships and shenanigans. i'm always wary of tropes regarding the brother and the romance being forbidden but this wasn't at all like those type of stories and i rather enjoyed every single characters

first time i can say that an exes story fully gripped me and had me rooting for them both. Piper and Sam were meant to be and i thought it to be easily seen through Sam being your typical caring cinnamon roll and Piper throwing others needs above her own. together we saw growth and beauty from them

i honestly can't wait to read more from Livy Hart's future work :)

This book has been provided by Netgally and Entangled Publishing for an honest review. All of the thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have one question after reading this book. Is Sam O'Shea real and can I meet him? I would very much like to be his Piper.
Let's start at the beginning. When I first saw it on entangled publishing instagram story I loved the cover and the title. That intrigued me enough to look it up on Netgally and I was immediately hooked.
As I was reading I fell more and more in love with these characters. From the snarky comments and comebacks to TENSION THAT YOU CAN CUT WITH A FEATHER. Oh my, the tension had me fanning myself and the spice was just as fulfilling. It was clear from page one that even tho they had past hurt and misunderstanding to work trough, the connection that they always had could not be ignored. And I was just waiting with baited breath for that moment of explosive pasion to happen and was not disappointed AT ALL. I actually had to send my friend a picture of me blushing over how steamy they were. The rest of the family was just as entertaining and real feeling. From loving parents and those not so doting to sweet grandmother and loud younger siblings. It really showed how complicated relationships can get when you mix friendships and lovers and feeling like you have to choose between your sister and a friend who is like a brother to you. The guilt of feeling like you broke that friendship up. Connor's and Sam's bromance as the family jokingly puts it was such a sweet thing to have and I love that in the end Connor is the one that talks to Sam and shows him what he truly wants(Piper obviously). I don't want to spoil it for you with actual plot points, I'll leave it up to you to read and see but this book is a rare 5 star trough and trough. I am definitely going to read it again in a few months.
And Livy Hart, I hope you write more books because you definitely have a fan in me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this beautiful story that truly touched my heart and soul.
I don't usually rave this much as there is a small number of books that a mood reader like I connects this much with, but this book certainly deserves it.

Talk Flirty to Me is my new favorite adult rom-com, it's definitely on my top five list of 2022!

I absolutely LOVE Piper and Sam and their second chance romance! I love reading from both POVs and hearing both sides of how it fell apart for them the first time. I related to Piper so much and her big Italian family!

The story is realistic, relatable, and heartfelt. I really liked the inside monologs Piper would have, the sexy banter and the oh-so-hot tension. The spice was strong with this book!

Super cute and fun read! I highly recommend it.

I finished this amazing book in three days, though it would have been one if I didn't have kids to take care of. I loved Piper and her dedication to her family. Coming from a large family, with lots of little kids, I can see how easily Piper could get wrapped up in it. I loved Sam, and how apparent his love was for Piper from the start. The miscommunication gave me all the Rachel/Ross vibes, and lots of laughs. The steamy scenes and sexual tension were spot on for me. The ending was *chef's kiss.* Would definitely recommend!

Finished The Book

Genre: Contemporary, Romance

Themes: Second-Chance Romance, Family, Friendship

Summary: Piper needs a partner to narrate an audiobook with her; Sam needs someone to convince Catherine (Pipers mom) that he is a good candidate for Mayor. If they put their painful history behind them, and help each other it will be a win-win situation, right?

When I received the email that I was accepted to review a copy of this ARC, I literally screamed. I was so excited to start reading, and it did not disappoint!

PIPER

She’s a firecracker (fitting, if you know you know), she’s hardworking, funny, family orientated, and she’s everything that I look for in a main character. She was flawed, and made mistakes, learnt from them, and grew.

SAM

Husband material. Cares about his community. Extremely hilarious. Me whenever Sam says something witty, or funny: [Insert gif that you'll be able to see on my Blog, or GoodReads Acc]

The chemistry between Piper and Sam is off the charts. Through the roof. Let’s just say there’s a reason why Sam is a firefighter [Insert gif that you'll be able to see on my Blog, or GoodReads Acc]

This book was perfect, and I need a physical copy on my shelf! Wait until booktok gets their hands on this read!

My eye is drawn to her the way it's drawn to flames in a hearth. You can't sit in a room with a fireplace and not acklowledge it or feel the ambient heat. Sometimes Piper spits pure fire, specifically when she's talking to me. Other times, when I see her interacting with others like I did today at Catherine's party, it's something softer. Warmth"

I am a SUCKER for brother's best friend stropes, and make it second chance? I was so excited to get approved for this ARC.

Piper Bellini and Sam O'Shea are back in each others lives, years after a disasterous breakup. Piper and Sam's high school relationship was perfect until it all came crashing down after one of them called a "break". A huge misunderstanding, an upset family, a hurt brother/ best friend, and many years later, Sam and Piper have no choice but to deal with their past and present feelings while narrating an erotic romance novel together.

I ADORED these two. If you're a fan of banter and angst, you will love this book. Despite a brother shutting them down, a caring mama, and years past issues, these two manage to find their way back to each other. You will fall in love with the big Bellini family, with their chaotic antics and big hearts, they're such a big part of this book.

Talk Flirty to Me is one of my favorite books ever! I loved the premise of Piper getting the voice acting gig of her dreams only to find out she needs a male lead to audition with and her only option is her high school ex-boyfriend, Sam (also her brother's best friend!).

Both characters are delightful. Love a firecracker heroine and a hero who's totally gone for her. Their banter is off the charts. Every single line ratchets up the intensity between Piper and Sam. The sexual tension, especially locked in a sound booth(!), is sizzling. But more than that, Sam and Piper's backstory gives them a view into each other's real selves, and allows them to see past the barriers they've constructed around their hearts.

This story also has big-family vibes with such meddling and loving supporting characters.

I can't wait to get my hands on the next Livy Hart book! Thank you Netgalley & Entangled Publishing for providing me the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was a fun, light romance! Second chance, brother's best friend, and lots of steamy scenes! I was hooked on the premise from the beginning, but I wish we'd had more scenes of them recording the audiobook. And I would have liked a bit more emotional depth and connection between the leads. The parental conflict (especially Sam's with his father and Piper's with her mother) also felt a bit underdeveloped and I would have liked a better understanding of the character's motivations. Overall, I enjoyed the read, but some things were missing for me. But, the writing and voice were so engaging and I look forward to reading more books from Livvy Hart! Thank you Netgalley & Entangled Publishing for providing me the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
