A great excerpt that makes you want to read the rest of the book, but with such a short excerpt it is hard to have a good idea of the full graphic novel. I loved the imagination of it, the tone and the dark humour... but does it keep going throughout the book? If it does it's great, I mean the first thing I did was chuckle and wanted to share the joke. I definitely want to get my hands on it, but at this stage, after only those few pages offered, it's not enough for me to say if I would recommend or not.

I've read the exerpt and I'm intrigued! It was really captivating right from the start and I can't wait to read the full story. The art feels like home to me as it resembels a lot of Indian art so I am even more excited to read it. All the best! 💙

It was great to view the excerpt for this book and I wish I was able to read the remainder of it already. It would have been nice to see at least one full part of the book in this excerpt to have more context for writing a review. With vibrant, colorful illustrations, interesting concept, and easy to follow text bubbles it will be interesting to read once the whole book is out. Although I was not able to get fully immersed in the lives of the characters in this book from what I could see in the excerpt, I have hopes that it will be a great, modern take on the work of genies most know so well. Thank you to NetGalley, Deena Mohamed, and Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, Pantheon for this excerpt.

With thanks to NetGalley and the author for access to an excerpt in exchange for an honest review. The story concept is intriguing, and I'm VERY excited to see more when I can - the illustrations are gorgeous.

Hard to review as it is only a 26-page excerpt, but the quick read left me intrigued. The illustrations.are bold and colorful. I'll look for more from this title once it publishes.

Hard to review this because it was only a few pages, but I really liked the art style and premise of the book. I am always fascinated by how storytellers modernize ancient stories. I will certainly be checking it out once it comes out!

Intrigued by the excerpt. I'll read the rest of this once it comes out - but I think it felt a bit misleading to only get 20 pages through Netgalley. I would not have requested this if it was made clearer that it is only an excerpt.

I liked the story, innovative and strange, I was surprised after several pages, can wishes be bought, this is what the story deals with, and wishes have degrees, the story begins with the third degree wish, which surprised me because it has side effects.
I liked having an Arabic story with subtitles on netgalley even if it's just excerpts.
I appreciate the author's effort and look forward to reading the entire work.

Wow I am so intrigued! Want to read the rest as soon as possible!!!! The story seems so interesting. And dark! The art style is fun too!
Thank you, Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, Pantheon for the excerpt.

This is the smallest preview and unfortunely not enough to give feedback on. The premise is interesting and have potential but I knew that already from reading the description. Would love to actually read it once it gets published.

I just read an excerpt, but this was a great story! I loved the storytelling and the art and graphics were beautiful. I can’t wait to check the whole story out

Even thought I read only a short excerpt, I can tell the story is going to be great, funny but also thoughtful. The illustrations are beautiful and I’m really excited to read this novel once it’s out.

A lovely preview, absolutely, but only just a preview - I can't review it, I only review complete books.

A beautifully illustrated graphic novel - just stylized enough to show individuality, but the different characters remain clear. I especially loved how the genie itself looked when it came out of the can - such a cool idea!
The framing of the first story was original, and a cool read - done as an advertisement. The magic system itself is very interesting, and I look forward to reading more of this in the future. Highly recommended. My library system will be purchasing this title.

I really liked the ideas that were glimpsed at in this preview. Modernizing the magic lamp into beverage cans, which in turn have various levels of quality, is very clever. The way the usual monkey's paw of the users' wish was turned into a PSA was a lot of fun, too! The story and art mesh well together, giving the reader something both familiar and different, and I liked it very much!
