Embarking on Norah Myers' visual journey through "Canada: From the Great Lakes to the Arctic Circle" was nothing short of a wanderlust-infused delight. As a fervent photography enthusiast, each turn of the page was a treat, a short but exhilarating 'trip' that transported me to the diverse landscapes and wonders of the second-largest country on our planet.

Canada, in all its vastness, unfolds before your eyes through more than 200 spectacular photographs. From the majestic Rocky Mountains to the modern urban sprawl of Toronto, and from the serene beaches of Vancouver to the wild allure of the northern territories, this book captures the essence of a country that seamlessly blends natural beauty with cosmopolitan grandeur.

The format, presented in a landscape orientation, complements the visual journey, allowing each image to breathe and tell its unique story. Myers' skillful curation of visuals, paired with insightful captions, adds a layer of depth to the experience, making it not just a photographic collection but a celebration of Canada's multifaceted charm.

As I flipped through the pages, I found myself immersed in the excitement of dog-sledding in Montreal, savoring the Polar bear encounters in Churchill, and basking in the modernity of Toronto's bustling streets. The book beautifully encapsulates the spirit of Canada, offering a glimpse into its diverse landscapes, culture, and the unique experiences one can encounter.

This is more than a coffee table book; it's an invitation to dream, to explore, and to appreciate the grandeur of our world. If, like me, you harbor a passion for photography and an insatiable wanderlust, this book is a must-have. I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful journey, and it only fueled my desire to traverse the landscapes Myers so eloquently captured.

In a world brimming with wonders, "Canada" stands as a testament to the breathtaking beauty that awaits those willing to explore.

This photographic collection of Canada is beautiful! The author has taken great care in selecting photographs that put Canada's best on display. This book is split up into the Atlantic Region, Central Canada, Prairie Provinces, British Columbia, and The North. I have traveled quite a bit through Canada (Manitoba to Nova Scotia) and love the beauty. The photos in this book reminded me of some of my visits like to Cape Breton Island. This book would make a great gift to an avid traveler. It would also be nice as a coffee table book or on display in a waiting room. Great book!

This is just stunning and a real standout among this type of book! Not only is the photography absolutely breathtaking, but there is just the right amount of information included--enough for context and to learn a bit, but not to much as to become tedious or overwhelming. The book is organized geographically, but covers a wide range of topics. There are pictures and information about cities, history, sports, animals, industry, architecture, and so much more!

Reading this added so many places to my list of things I'd love to see in Canada. This would be a great gift for anyone interested in photography, nature, or armchair traveling!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This was such an amazing book. I loved it from the very start. I didn't know much about Canada before I started reading this book. The pictures in this book were amazing they held such beauty and power. I thought the accompanying text was great and so informative. I learnt so much while reading this book. At times I forgot that I was sat at home reading this book. I imagined myself there experiencing each of the photos in turn. I definitely recommend this book for all those like me who love to travel from the comfort of our armchair. This book would also be a perfect read for all those who wish to travel to Canada and just can't decide which part to visit. I especially loved the section on northern Canada. It was also fascinating to read about how little an area is inhabited. It makes me wish I could go and live in such a beautiful place.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating a book that wonderfully depicts just how amazing Canada. It was a delight to read.

Featuring Canada, the second largest country in the world, Norah Myers’s book is a truly delightful pictorial publication. It highlights the natural beauty and culturally diverse country that extends all the way between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and north to the Arctic Ocean. Presented in a landscape format, there are over two hundred amazing photographs that include a brief explanation of each entry. The stunning beauty and culture of Canada are graphically captured in this stunning collection that shows the nature, wildlife, cosmopolitan cities amidst the vastness of Canada. An exceptional revealing book that accurately represents Canada and has a five star must have rating for travel lovers. With thanks to Amber Books and the author, for an uncorrected advanced reader copy for review purposes. As always, the opinions herein are totally my own and freely given.

Each section is briefly introduced with a little history and highlights of the area. Each large, full color photograph has a small caption providing the location and a short writeup of the photo. The photography is absolutely gorgeous. It made me really really want to visit Canada, especially Banff which has been on my bucket list for quite some time. This book is perfect for anyone who loves nature, travel, or just pretty things.

I read a previous edition of this book a couple of years ago and am just as impressed with this book. This would be a beautiful coffee table book for display in any home. I loved the photos and little snippets of information/history that went along with them.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This book is mainly a visual photography book with some stunning pictures of Canada, many I'd never heard of and could only dream of seeing.

There are some descriptions to accompany the photos and each area (the book is divided into four areas - North, South, East and West) has a few pages written about the history of that particular area.

I really enjoyed reading the information printed and some of the photos took my breath away.

This book is filled with over 200 color photographs showing off the width and breadth of Canada in a spectacular and stunning fashion. Photos are accompanied by truly interesting information, about the history or current eras.

Although I know there is much to see and experience in such a large country, I feel like I have been on a whirlwind tour--in person.

Not only is the scenery beautiful, but some pictures show indoor markets, an ice fishing hut, and other personal touches that give the book a homey feel. As well as shots of the Northern Lights and sharply rugged peaks that must be difficult to capture.

I know so much more about my neighbors to the North than I did before!

5/5 Stars

The coffee table book "Canada" by Norah Myers contains over 200 vivid photographs of Canada accompanied by detained and knowledgeable captions. The vast natural scenes are soothing. Much of the architecture featured is amazingly trendy. And the human culture presented feels familiar and quite welcoming. Between the national parks., wildlife, history, and fascinating (if occasionally dark) history, I would really like to plan a vacation to Canada to see these sights in person...

I thank Norah Myers and Amber Books for both opening my eyes to the beauty of Canada and also graciously providing a temporary electronic review copy of this book.

Another entry to Amber Books' nigh-flawless picture volumes, this covers that there Canada in all its glory. If you've never been to Banff and looked at the top of Cascade Mountain and thought it close enough to touch, if you've never seen a country as bonkers for a sport as daft as ice hockey, if you've never seen a pristine plate of poutine – or even if you've done these things – this picture book is for you. Snappy captions, the briefest bites of history and the glorious imagery – it's all compelling and most appealing, and/or a prime little tourist souvenir bought at home. One of the two editions will be shaped like a wodge of old 6x4 photo prints and the other will be for the coffee-table in hardback, so choose as befits your budget and intentions. But don't ever worry about the worth of the purchase.

An absolutely stunning book. If you just want a good book for your coffee table or would love to pore over the magnificent pictures of this beautiful country, this is the book for you.

We have yet to travel to Canada, which is on our bucket list, but this book has shown us so many places that you would not ordinarily find on your usual travel sites. I love that it is not pages of writing and a few pictures here and there. Well done on capturing the wonders of Canada for all to see.

Thanks to Netgalley, Norah Myers and Amber Books Ltd for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

As a Canadian, born in Nova Scotia, living in Toronto for more than 30 years and I've seen a fair bit of Canada, I thought it would be fun to see some pictures of Canada.

This book is a collection of full-colour pictures but also short facts to go along with the pictures.

The book is split into five sections:
The Atlantic Region - New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland
Central Canada - Ontario and Quebec
The Prairie Provinces - Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba
British Columbia
The North - Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon.

Some of the pictures were really nice ... but others seemed amateurish and had no point and better ones could have taken their place.

While the author states that Ontario and Quebec are Canada's two largest and most populated provinces, she lumps them together into one section. Being the largest provinces, I would have thought that they would have warranted their own sections, especially given how different Quebec is in many respects from the rest of Canada. Yet, British Columbia got its own section?!

The pictures in the sections seemed randomly placed. In the Atlantic Region, for example, rather than starting at Newfoundland and making her way westward, the author bounces back and forth around the provinces which I found distracting. There are a lot of pictures of Newfoundland ... there's nothing wrong with Newfoundland but it seemed to have been her focus in that section. And where were the pictures of Peggy's Cove or the Cabot Trail?

I have never had the privilege to travel to Canada. There are so many beautiful places I long to explore and experience for myself. Until I am able to make that trip, this book was a great tool to whet my appetite. The pictures are stunning and provide a thorough visualization from all across the country. Short descriptions with each photo let me know what I am looking at, which can be helpful when trying to formulate a plan.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

Whether you are an arm chair traveler or enjoy looking at beautiful photos this book is stunningly beautiful. Canada - From the Great Lakes to the Arctic Circle is full of over 200 photos of the neighbors to the north. The book is sectioned into regions; Atlantic, Central, Prairie, British Columbia and the North. My time in Canada has been limited to Toronto, Niagara Falls and the beautiful National Parks near Calgary like Banff and Waterton. But my must see list includes so many locations in Canada this just whet my appetite more. The cities are pretty but the natural beauty and landscape are beautifully captured. I want to see the animals, northern lights and places on both coasts. Small blurbs give descriptions or locations. I think this book would be enjoyed by anyone who has visited or is planning to visit Canada. It is great as a souvenir or coffee table book. Thank you to NetGalley and Amber Books Ltd for a temporary eARC in exchange for an honest review.
