Thank you, NetGalley for this free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I listened to the book while reading it months ago. I did DNF it after getting to the second chapter. I think it was just how the story was going at the time. It felt like I was missing parts of the book. I would love to listen to/read this book again, hopefully, my review will be much better a second go around.

This is the kind of satirical dystopian literature I expect from contemporary authors. I loved the satirical humour and the narration. The characters are fun to observe and the plot is chaotic. Though the plot felt to be a bit all over the place. The ending felt abrupt too, but then I thought of 1984 and maybe it makes sense?! Definitely worth a read.

I love a good sardonic dystopian & this one did not disappoint…. It also contained just enough realism to be unnerving. No complaints!

Thank you so much Netgalley & the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA),

Comedy dystopia is not something I’d normally be drawn to, but this book caught my interest and I’m glad I gave it a go. A short read (or listen ) but thoroughly enjoyable for something a little different. A really engaging and funny read that gets you thinking. Will definitely be an author I will look to read more from, and maybe a new found genre to explore too.

This book wanted to be way smarter than it ended up. A pretentious read that wanted to be clever and make smarmy pop culture references about modern life under the guise of a sci fi dystopia.
Wanted to be Swift meets Orwell but ended up swiftly being discarded.

Read this book in two parts - actually months apart which is nothing to do with the book, more about my availability for reading.

That said, I was able to pick up where I'd left off, still enjoying the story line, remembering the character's foibles and completely invested in the almost like here world.
To me that's the sign of a good book.
It's a parody done well and the audiobook inflexion is full of feeling, humour and sarcasm.
A good read.

I don't DNF books very often, but I just really couldn't get into this one!

I think maybe listening made me miss some of the key plot points, but I just really struggled to appreciate the satirical nature.

First of all thank you so much to the publishers and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to listen and review this audiobook. This was my first audiobook and I was not disappointed. First of all, the book was narrated really well by Tristan Wright and the characters were well played. The book itself was well detailed and I could picture the plot and current events while listening. I love fantasy/dystopian novels and this one definitely had well written elements of these genres. The plot was intriguing and the characters were likeable. At first I was unsure where the plot would lead but this built up intrigue. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook book and will definitely be recommending this novel. My favourite part of the plot would, overall, be the build up to the ending. It did not feel rushed yet a lot happened. The epilogue was a nice finish to the book. There was no unnecessary information that dragged out the novel. In fact I think it is a perfect size, has a steady and medium pace and is a binge-worthy read. You should definitely look out for this book, it's worth it!

Interesting satire of political PR. While it is obviously fiction, this book makes one think, "Could this really happen?" It's an entertaining, but sometimes frustrating depiction of a PR professional's struggle with being exceptional at his job making the president look good, while trying to be a decent human being. It's a tough job.

My thoughts…
LOL! This was such a fun companion during my commute. I laughed out loud so often. I enjoyed the satirical look of working for the “government.” It reminded me a bit of “Veep.” A dystopian version. I was entertained by the theme of finding “work-life balance” and “self-care” but to the extreme that made it more realistic. If that makes any sense. Adam Bender, I’ll be looking out for more of your books. Oh, and the narrator was absolutely spot-on!

This book certainly grabbed my interest from the beginning.

It is a darkly funny look at The Leader and his campaign and promises, how the country is run, and all of the PR and media spin that goes into keeping the government looking good.

At times (ok, I'll admit, most of the way through), I was questioning if this was really satire, since it seemed so real at times!

The narration was easy to listen to and the narrator had such a rich voice, it was a real pleasure to listen to.

Definitely worth a listen.

Hilarious political satire. I wasn’t sure how I’d like this book because sometimes it is overdone and you don’t really have to push it that far since we have all lived it. What must it be like for someone to have to try to make it all look OK? Timely, if nothing else.

have mixed feeling about this book. I like the futuristic sci-fi part of it. But the other part about the president "Our Leader" and Woozler's director (his version of Twitter where they wooze instead of tweet), is just plain craziness!

The narration of the book of was great, and I liked it.
I found Adam Bender's writing interesting and I would like to read another book by him.

An excellent read that sometimes strikes very close to reality. Fun and engaging I thoroughly enjoyed Utopia PR and highly recommend it. A nice blend of humor and action and all around a quite enjoyable book, I look forward to reading more book from Adam Bender.

Thanks to Netgalley and Adam Bender for allowing me to listen to the audio in exchange for a review. The concept of this book was intriguing and the satirical take on todays political landscape was the main draw in my wanting to read this . It's the kind of book that when you set out the plot plainly, it sounds too far fetched to mirror real life but as the book progresses, comparisons are unnervingly easy to make.
The storyline moves swiftly and never drags and the characters have a very American PR way of communicating (exaggerated and full of buzz words) which I found added even more to the humour. Solid speculative and dystopian writing, read by an engaging and easy to follow narrator. This book isn't going to make you feel good about the world we live in but it might make reality a little more amusing!

A good little story. Good sense of humor an well written, if a slightly predictable plot. The narrator did a great job, though i'll be getting this as a book for my store and hand selling it that way. Thanks
