The third installment of the Triple Threat series by Irene Hannon, Body of Evidence is one of my favorite reads of 2022! Forensic Pathologist Grace Reilly is being targeted after discovering a suspicious item during an autopsy that was becoming a strange pattern.

As Grace struggles to put the pieces together, she takes her concerns to Sheriff Nate Cox. While unsure that Grace's hunch will turn into anything, Nate does acknowledge the threats against Grace's life and he works to help make sure Grace stays safe.

I could not put this story down! I loved every twist and turn. And while I started to puzzle out the answer about 3/4 of the way through the story, I loved the way everything unfolded. The story was gripping, unique in it's approach to solving a crime.

Another great read by Lynette Eason! This mystery kept me guessing up until the last minute. Mystery mixed with love and faith. I highly recommend this book!

This is a good book of mystery and suspense from Hannon. The plot is developed well. We come to know there is a killer at work since we read some of that person's thoughts. We don't know who the person is or how the unusual murders are done. I appreciate Hannon bringing in a new method of murder, seemingly almost undetectable. I also appreciate the heroine, Grace, thinking through the unusual situation well enough that she knows what expert to consult. The villain was not a surprise as we are kind of set up for it but Hannon did a good job of hiding the conclusive information until near the suspenseful end.

There is some romance in this novel between Grace and the sheriff. I was happy to see that it was very well done. While we are reminded of its presence, the romance remains in the background while the murders and investigation are still going on. The romance is not rushed nor inappropriate.

This is a good novel for readers who like a tenacious heroine in a rather unusual profession. The faith aspect is present but rather subtle. While this novel is part of a series, it read well on its own. Characters from the previous novels enter this one, adding to character interest but not essential to the plot. Hannon has not lost her touch for crafting engaging fiction and I'll be looking for her next one.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

This was a really satisfying story and a great ending to this series! I liked the first two books in this series--they weren't my all time favorites, but I really enjoyed them--and I had high expectations for this book: I loved it! Now, I had the same problems with it as I had with the first two books in the series, but this one is my favorite out of the three.

tw // vomiting (including discussions of and descriptions of the smell), infidelity (not detailed, but a heavy part of this book), assault, Grace is a pathologist, so there are some pretty graphic descriptions of her job, including her sawing into a skull, weighing a liver, etc.

This book was super well-rounded, which I really like. The pacing is really well done: it kept my attention the whole time and I was hooked to see where the story would go. There was also more development for the characters: Grace and Nate were better developed than some of the other characters written by Hannon that I'd read. Their internal monologue was consistent and made sense with the plot line, which sometimes doesn't happen in Christian suspense fiction.

There was once again a lot of physical attraction between the two main characters, but it was less than the other books by Hannon I read, which was good (some of the other descriptions are . . . A Lot). There was definitely quite a bit of noticing, and there were some spicier innuendos (one scene where one character mentions on the phone that they are about to go change and leave, and the other finds that information very interesting, and they make a joke about it, Nate sees Grace's "curves" under her shirt and thinks that he needs to go take a cold shower, among others). The two characters do have insta-love, but not in an annoying way.

One thing about this book that I wasn't a huge fan of was the strict male and female divide: Nate's testosterone was mentioned multiple times, which was a little uncomfy, and there other such observations: women's intuition, a man's strength, and stuff like that, which I'm not a huge fan of. Nate is immediately very protective of Grace, almost as soon as they meet, which is supposed to be a marker of his manly protectiveness, which is also a little . . . sus for me.

By far the best part of this book is the suspense plot: it had the best plot out of Christian suspense fiction that I've read in a while, and it kept me guessing all the way up to the end. The ending was really well foreshadowed, with the appropriate stakes and the appropriate responses by the characters. There were just enough red herrings to keep the mystery complex, but without making it confusing. The ending wasn't rushed, and everything tied up in a satisfying way. I was really afraid that the plot was going to go one direction that is overused (at least in my opinion) and it didn't go that way, which made me really happy. There were some chapters from the perspective of the antagonist, revealing more information as the story went on, which I really liked, because it added to the foreshadowing.

There were some comments that made me not enjoy this book was much as I would have (Grace has an intense security system on her house in rural Missouri, and the author describes it as a security fetish??????? WHY USE THE WORD FETISH), but overall the plot was really interesting and overall, I really enjoyed this book!

Blackmail, betrayal, and murder combine for a triple threat in this third book in the Triple Threat series. Forensic pathologist Grace Reilly just can’t shake off the suspicion that something isn’t quite right about recent deaths of elderly residents. Hearing her concerns, Sheriff Nate Cox begins to agree. But can they find the murderer before Grace becomes the next victim?

Escalating threats—and romance—ratchet the tensions up, up, and up . . . all the way to the I-didn’t-see-that-coming end. A terrific end to the series, but also wonderful as a stand-alone. Body of Evidence is a must-read!

I loved the suspense. Grace notices something odd in a couple of autopsies. It starts things off. The danger escalates. Soon Grace's life is in danger. As Grace and Nate interact, Nate finds something he's been missing. I liked how Grace and Nate's relationship progressed. It was believable and interesting. It didn't advance too quickly even though they flirted outrageously at times. I also enjoyed how Grace and her sisters interacted with each other. I enjoy series that focus on a different sibling in each book so that you get to know them all better over each book.

There was a lot of mystery over who the villain was. I appreciate when it isn't totally obvious. I wish there had been a little more on why the person chose that path. That was the only part I struggled with. All in all, it was a great read. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I love that I thought I knew shortly into the mystery who the murderer was, but that I was so wrong. Well played red herrings are so appreciated. The solution didn't come by popping a new or obscure character into that role at the last minute, also greatly appreciated. The story included some sweet romance, but it did not overpower the suspense element. While it is the third book of a series, Body of Evidence works well as a stand-alone read. I highly recommend this book, and am grateful to have received a complimentary copy from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own. Irene Hannon is an author that I often recommend to those who enjoy romantic suspense.

I have to say that I always enjoy the books that this author writes, and this one was no exception.

Grace is a forensic pathologist who is particularly keen-eyed about some anomalies she has spotted and when she talks to Nate, the new Sheriff, about her concerns, he takes her seriously. It doesn't hurt that he is a nice guy and there are sparks between them either!

Something I really like about Irene Hannon's books is that they are mostly suspense with a romantic thread, not the other way around. Her characters are strong and real and you want them to succeed. The romance side of things isn't syrupy-sweet which I appreciate also.

I have to admit that I had no idea who the "baddie" was in this book, until the author revealed it, so well done!

4.5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Revell.

This isn’t the first book I’ve reviewed for Irene Hannon. And by God’s grace . . . it WILL NOT be the last! I literally got 1 ½ hours of sleep last night, because I could not put BODY OF EVIDENCE down.

Grace Reilley is a gifted forensic pathologist who brings moral conviction, brilliant intellect, and bull-dog determination to every case. She’s got a sense of humor, and she’s also quite easy on the eyes, as they say. It’s a combination that’s hard to beat. And she’s going to need every bit of it to plumb the depths of the bizarre rash of deaths that are occurring in rural Missouri.

Former Army SpecOps soldier Nate Cox is doing his best to learn the ropes of his new position as Sheriff. He, too, is puzzled by the sudden rise in deaths. Once is peculiar; twice is coincidence. Three times is a pattern. And a deadly one, at that.

As Grace and Nate pool their resources, it’s evident to both that something more than professional courtesy is in the air. And the more convoluted the investigation becomes, the closer they are drawn to one another. But when Grace becomes more than a nuisance to the mastermind behind the deaths, she becomes the next target in the grand scheme of it all.

And this killer is playing for keeps.

Irene Hannon brings all of her story-weaving craftsmanship to bear in this, the third installment of the Triple Threat series. With fully developed characters, plot twists and enough red herrings to stock a pond, you will be riveted to your reading corner until the last page.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for my open and honest review.

Body of Evidence is the third and final book in the Triple Threat series. The collection followed the Reilly sisters in their various professions, all centered around law enforcement. This story focused on forensic pathologist Grace. She’s convinced a series of deaths in the older community are not coincidental or natural. Persuading Sheriff Nate Cox takes persistence, but once he sees her point, Grace’s life is on the line.

This whole series has been a masterpiece. Three very different sisters, all facing unpredictable danger. The thing I liked most in all three, is that unpredictable part. I read a lot of romantic suspense, and suspense novels. I watch cop shows. And in each case, I couldn’t see how the story would play out.

Irene Hannon is excellent at weaving a solid mystery into a sweet romance, and that was definitely the case with Grace and Nate. As the two worked on the investigation, their relationship began change and watching Grace follow her sisters into love was wonderful.

I recommend Body of Evidence and the whole Triple Threat series.

I received a copy from the publisher via Netgalley. The opinion is my own.

Body of Evidence may be the third book in the Triple Threat series by Irene Hannon but it is the first book in the series that I have read. What a great compelling read it is too. Forensic pathologist Grace Reilly sees a connection between some unusual deaths in a rural area of Missouri. At first she has trouble convincing others of the connection but once she does the story moves at a fast pace.

The plot is well written with the story building up as it progresses. Danger also increases as the characters come closer to the truth. Sheriff Nate Cox and Grace work well together in this story. The characters and the plot are so believable.

Having not read the first two books in the series yet I still had no problems following the characters or the plotline. It read fine for me with no issues. However it does make me want to read the previous books. Highly recommend Body of Evidence to all but especially to those who enjoy Christian inspirational romantic suspense.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

Irene Hannon has been one of my favourite romantic suspense authors for many years. Each book she writes, I love and is full of great suspense and fantastic writing. Body of Evidence is the third book in her Triple Threat series. All 3 books are fantastic.

One of the things I love the most about Irene Hannon’s writing is they multiple perspectives she uses. I find it really interesting that you get to hear from so many different perspectives including the bad guy (without truly knowing who the bad guy is). It is such a fun and unique style of writing.

Of course, I absolutely love the romance side to her stories as well. Grace and Nate have such an interesting story which I loved.

It was fun to see Grace’s sisters Eve and Cate and hear a little about their lives. I loved both of their stories so I’m glad they still have roles to play in this book.

If you haven’t read the rest of this series yet, you are missing out. I love the whole series and I’m sure you will too. I can’t wait to see what Irene Hannon comes out with next.

I really enjoyed this third and finally story of the Triple Threat series. Dr. Grace Reilly is the youngest sister and is living away from her family and hometown of St. Louis in a rural area of Missouri. Grace, a forensic pathologist, finds some discrepancies in autopsies of some seniors whose deaths appear to be natural causes, but Grace is not convinced they are. Nate Cox is a new sheriff in town and listens to Grace's suspicions. As she digs, researches, and runs test, someone is trying to scare her away. Nate and Grace are attracted to each other, and this adds some added zing to the danger that escalates as she gets closer to finding answers. Nate does his own investigating and interviewing suspects and estate lawyers in this small town and surrounding counties. This interesting story is multilayered with a great mystery, suspense, and action. Great characters and secondary characters make this a realistic story of faith, forgiveness, love, and patience. We get visits from sisters, Cate and Eve, as they continue their sister get togethers. I have enjoyed this series and recommend it for those who enjoy Christian romantic suspense and family relationships. I received a complimentary copy from Revell Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts are mine only.

While this is part of a series (the final book), it can be read as a standalone novel. The mystery was engaging, and numerous clues keep the reader guessing. There's a bit of romance, but the suspense angle is definitely the star.

Body of Evidence by Irene Hannon is the third in the Triple Threat series. While the entire series is a must-read, you can probably jump in with Body of Evidence and keep up. The series focuses on three sisters, and this is Grace Reilly’s story. Hers is probably the most fascinating out of her sister’s stories in that Grace is a forensic pathologist. She took a lot of grief from her sisters in past books for choosing to hang out with dead bodies on a Saturday night rather than go out with, you know, the living.

Grace takes a job in a rural county and starts to see a pattern develop when a few elderly people die. She suspects foul play, but there isn’t enough conclusive evidence. She meets Sherriff Nate Cox, who believes her. Sparks fly between the two as they try to prove that something nefarious is happening in their small town.

I love this series, so of course Body of Evidence hit my wish list as far as a “must-read” story. The mystery took me a while to unravel, and I love Grace’s spunk. My favorite scenes are when she gets together with her sisters. Their camaraderie is quite entertaining.

If you are looking for a fast-paced and enjoyable book to kick off your fall, look no further than Body of Evidence on October 4th.

I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

MISCHIEF, MAYHEM & MURDER!

Award-winning author Irene Hannon is known for writing dynamic romantic suspense novels. Her latest release, Body of Evidence, is full of mischief, mayhem and murder. Her plot is centered around forensic pathologist Grace Reilly who serves in rural Missouri. She notices a strange pattern in the autopsies of senior citizens and takes her findings to Sheriff Nate Cox. From the moment she starts suspecting an unusual death of the first victim, her life is in danger. That is the moment when Hannon begins her magic and weaves a compelling story that will keep you reading all night!

What I like best about Body of Evidence is that Grace and Nate are excellent characters. They are both flawed but readers will quickly know they will be perfect for each other – if they can just work through some things. Also, I like that Hannon uses the suspense in the story to drive the romance. Another element I like is that they both have close relationships with their families. I highly recommend this enjoyable mystery!

Body of Evidence is the third and final book of the Triple Threat series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I always enjoy reading series in order so I don't miss any of the back stories. The series follows three sisters and they are all mentioned in each book.

Grace is a romantic, and she is also a workaholic. And in her line of work as a forensic pathologic, it's not so easy to meet someone. Then she meets the new sheriff, Nate, who happens to be an eligible bachelor, and sparks begin to fly. Grace senses that something isn't quite right when reviewing a couple of previous deaths. She and Nate work together to determine if there was foul play. They are also trying to figure out who is targeting Grace and why.

I liked the characters in this story and felt like the mystery was well developed. I highly recommend this book (and the whole series) to anyone who enjoys a Christian romantic suspense.

Unfamiliar with this series, I checked the first two out from the library before reading this one. I discovered that they can stand alone if you want--although the character development is obviously richer if you read the whole trilogy. All three kept me flipping pages and wondering if I'd correctly ID'd the villain or if I'd fallen for a red herring. Great series!

I follow the GoodReads rating system (3=good, 5=phenomenal + want to re-read several times) not the Amazon one (only 5 is acceptable.)

Body of evidence is a twisty tale that had me wondering whodunnit right until the end. This is the third book in this series and they just keep getting better and better.
Grace is a forensic pathologist who is more comfortable with the dead than with her social life. Until she meets sheriff Nate Cox. He’s everything a girl could want, but there must be a catch.
As they get thrown together on a case that switches directions faster than a jet fighter, Nate sets out to gain her interest. His dating life has become routine and the spark he feels with Grace is worth pursuing. Now he just needs to keep her alive.
I enjoyed the perfectly paced growth of the relationship between Grace and Nate. The balance of suspense and romance was spot on. I loved this book.
I received a review copy from Revell through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Irene Hannon has become one of my favorite authors of Christian romantic suspense. Her books have an engaging plot with just the right combination of suspenseful tension and clean romance. I really enjoyed this book because this story has several subplots that were serious, yet tastefully done. I felt that I had read a great story and had nuggets of truth that I took away from it too.

I liked seeing that the victims in this story received the justice they deserved in making the those who had wronged them answer for the crimes that were committed against them. Grace Reilly ended up being my favorite sister of the three Reilly ladies. A forensic pathologist with a love of truth and pursuing a case, even when threatened and doubted, had me admiring Grace more and more as the story progressed. Sheriff Nate Cox was very similar to Grace because he pursued leads and went after even the smallest lead to investigate this case. He was just the man that Grace needed in her life because he understood her need to find answers and teamed up with her to see it happen.

This is the third book in the Triple Threat series, but can be read as a standalone. I recommend this book if you like similar authors such as Dani Pettrey, Dee Henderson, or Cara Putman.

Thank you to Revell and NetGalley for a copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
