As a follower of this series I’ve waited ages for the new one to come out and it didn’t disappoint! Great follow on book in the series or equally as an introduction to it and would recommend to all. it’s an absolute page turner of a book and for once had me right until the last part for the “who did it” the only issue I have with this book is that they take too long to be released 😉

Another winner from this incredibly talented author. Readers who know and love Erika will enjoy spending time with her again as she skates dangerously close to the edge in her efforts to solve two murders. I loved the insights into the decidedly non-glamorous aspects of life in the police force as well as seeing Erika let down her guard a bit and accept help. She is a strong character and not always very likeable, and I think she is all the more real because of it.

Another masterpiece from Robert Bryndza, and Erika Foster is back with a bang! Erika is my favourite heroine and after a break she is back with a thrilling new case, new house and possibly a new boyfriend! The story is original and captivating, I had to finish reading in a day.

Oh yes! Welcome back DCI Erika Foster! How I’ve missed you!! This is the long-awaited book #7 in the Erika Foster series. It’s been a while since we’ve had a new book in this series, and whilst it is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone book! I’ve read all the previous books and have loved them, so I was very excited to hear of a new book on the horizon! Erika Foster is a fantastic character, Slovakian by birth but now working for the Metropolitan Police in London. She’s one tough cookie, but she’s had a raw deal when her husband, and fellow police officer, Mark is killed whilst on active duty. Erika’s managed to maintain her professionalism and, along with her loyal team, continued to solve murders, but in her personal life she seems desperately sad and alone.

The murder of a young woman in her own flat, just around the corner from Erika’s new home, is a particularly violent and gruesome one. There’s no solid evidence to work on, but slowly and methodically, Erika and her team work through a long list of suspects. Her team consists of characters we’ve previously met, and it was great to see Peterson, Moss and Isaac back! The case is a tricky one and there are plenty of characters that you’ll love to hate, or who are just too weird to not be guilty of something! The murder storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout, ensuring you put your hands over your eyes at the gruesome bits and have you chewing your fingernails in anticipation of what might happen for the rest of the time!

It really was such a pleasure to have Erika back in my life! I love her character and she will always have a place reserved in my top 5 of favourite female detectives! I particularly felt for her in this book, especially in her cold, damp house with no bed, but I loved the introduction of Igor and long may he be around to hopefully put a smile on her face and some warmth in her heart! The storyline was fast paced and had me hooked from the very first page. The author writes such fantastic crime stories, and I know I will clear the deck every time for one of his books! Whilst I have loved his later crime series featuring Kate Marshall, Erika Foster will always be my favourite and I’m so glad he’s come back to her! This is a great police procedural thriller, with plenty of twist and turns to keep you captivated throughout! Fabulous!

Thanks to Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Erika Foster is back, now a homeowner and still a detective. On a walk back home from dinner, she hears a scream and walks up to the home to find a woman who has just found her sister's dead body. The investigation is tough because there are many suspicious people but they can't manage to prove the guilt of any of them.

I thought this was a strong entry in a really good series. This author's Erika Foster and Kate Marshall series are must reads for me. They are always dependably good reads and I think this was one of the better ones. It was a good police procedural with an interesting enough main character who we have gotten to know well over the years without getting overly bogged down in personal life drama. Looking forward to his next offering.

As ever, another excellent story from Robert Bryndza which I couldn't put down.

We are back with Erica Foster and her team trying to solve the murder of a young woman found dead in her home a couple of streets away from Erica's new home. Erica was simply walking past when she hears a scream and goes in to investigate. This one has a strange twist in the start that makes you wonder where the tale is going, and your main suspect, well that isn't as cut and dried as it seems either! Gripping story with a very spine chilling twist to the end! Fab, and can't wait for more!!

Oh, Erika Foster how I’ve missed you. It’s been four long years, but finally you're back, with your no nonsense approach to solving the most horrifying crimes. Fatal Witness is the seventh book in a not too be missed series, and it may have been a long wait, but my god it’s been worth it, this one’s a cracker! The book opens with a chilling prologue, and from there on in I was well and truly hooked.

Erika is assigned to the brutal murder of Vicky Clarke, a true-crime podcaster. Prior to her death, she had been working on a new podcast episode about a serial rapist who preys on young female students staking out his victims in their halls of residence. Was Vicky killed because she was close to unmasking the attacker? Who is the deviant predator? What’s their motive? So many tantalising questions to keep us amateur detectives throughly entertained. Unsettling and disturbing, the actions of the all too human characters ensure the tension never waivers.

As in all novels in this series, it’s held together by the unflappable character of Erika Foster, who happens to be one of my favourite fictional crime detectives. Erika is believable, flawed, courageous and dedicated to her job. I was concerned that after such a long break I wouldn’t feel the same about this series, but if anything it reminded me of all the reasons, it’s one of my favourite crime series to read. Robert Bryndza is one of my all time ‘go to’ crime authors for a very good reason, his writing is sharp and to the point, his plots are well developed and veer towards the macabre. His books never feel repetitive or stale and they always make for an exciting, heart pounding read. Highly recommended.

I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. This is the seventh book featuring Detective Erika Foster and the series has lost none of its momentum it grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go until the end, another brilliant story from this author.

I was so excited to hear that Erika Foster is back! Having read all of Robert’s previous books, I had high expectations and wasn’t disappointed. Meeting all the characters again, after a such a break, was like greeting old friends. Truth be told, Erika has her flaws and the reader can find themselves frustrated with her choices - but it is this that makes her all the more realistic as a character. The plot line was, if I’m being honest, a little more predictable than in the previous books but I’m not sure if this is because I’ve read more thrillers than most and thus am more able to anticipate where the author is going. The ending left a few loose ends, especially with Erika’s personal life and relationships with colleagues, and I look forward to where those are going.

One more thing: Worthing is in Sussex, not Kent! A minor error but one that stuck out to me as a Brit. I feel that a copy editor should have picked that up!

Overall, a great instalment and I can’t believe I’ve got to keep waiting for the next….

This is the seventh book in the Detective Erika Foster series by author Robert Bryndza. This is another series I always look forward to and to be honest anything else written by the author. The plots are always intriguing and fast paced with excellent characters and this latest offering is more of the same.

While on a late night walk near her home Detective Erika Foster discovers the brutal murder of true crime podcaster Vicky Clarke. The case falls into Erika’s lap and once she starts investigating discovers Vicky had been working on a new podcast episode about a sexual predator. The predator preys on young female students around South London, staking out his victims in their halls of residence before breaking in at the dead of night. Erika also discovers that Vicky’s notes and sound recordings were stolen from her flat at the time of her murder , which leads her to believe that Vicky was close to naming the attacker and was murdered to stop her announcing it.

But when the body of a young Bulgarian student doctor is discovered in the same building, the whole case is thrown upside down and makes Erika question everything she thought she knew about Vicky and what happened.

This was an entertaining read that had me gripped, great characters and a plot that goes along at a break neck pace. Another excellent read by one of my favourite authors.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

When Detective chief inspector Erika Foster hears screaming coming from the house she’s passing, she is immediately, instinctively in work mode. When the lady on the inside of the house tells her she’s just found her sister dead in her apartment Erika calls it in.

Erika and her team then have a job to work out what happened to the young woman’s sister and how she came to be so brutally murdered. As the results of DNA and the forensics start to come in, things become clearer and as well as a murder it seems there is a missing person who needs finding that can answer the questions the police need answering.

Will Erika and her team be able to solve the murder before anyone else gets hurt?

As soon as I saw this book I had to read it. Being a huge fan of the authors work and having read the previous Erika Foster books for me it was a must read. So when I got it I dropped everything and read it immediately.

As always with these books I was hooked from the first page. It is fast paced with things constantly moving forward with plenty of twists in the storyline to keeper you hooked. I love Erika’s character, she’s a tough cookie but fair in her work with a quite well hidden softer side.

If you love a good detective murder mystery you should 100% read these books. They are some of my favourites.

I give this Book 1,000,000 Stars! SO happy to have another DCI Erika Foster book to read. A long time coming but worth the wait. I love this series and the characters. This book is outstanding. I can’t rave enough about it. Erika is on a walk when she hears a scream. A podcast writer has been murdered. The evidence is very scarce. I did not guess who was doing the killing. Mr. Bryndza is at the top of his game with this book. I truly hope we don’t have to wait a long time for Book #8. Thanks to NetGalley, Raven Street Publishing and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

I love the way the author gets into the action straight away, that is to say, the murder. Then the plot thickens when Erika gets involved. A police based crime novel that keeps you reading because you want to find out who did the murder. Totally gripping, I recommend it highly. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of the book.

A true crime podcaster may have gotten a little too close to the truth. Detective Erika Foster is out for an evening stroll when she stumbles over the body of Vicky Clarke. Clarke has been hard at work on a new podcast about a serial rapist attacking young women in London. Her notes and recordings have mysteriously disappeared, leading Erika to believe that Vicky may have uncovered the assailant’s identity. But things take an unexpected turn when a young doctor who lived in Vicky’s building is also murdered. Bryndza is such an outstanding writer, I don’t know why he isn’t a household name

I was excited to see what I know is a much anticipated next book in Erika Foster series from Robert Bryndza, I discovered this series after actually starting the Kate Marshall Nine Elms series from this author and realizing he had another in progress series. I have been reading these books throughout the pandemic as I am always a fan of female detectives and murder mysteries/serial killer themes. I loved that Fatal Witness wove in an emerging trope related to true crime podcasts (a trope I really like as a fan of true crime podcasts and books) and returned readers to a strong female lead, a well developed and fast paced mystery (I read this in one day!), and to a mystery that did keep me guessing without disappointing me with the resolution which can happen for me with some mysteries,.
I want to thank Raven Street Publishing for the copy of this book on NetGalley, I was so glad to support this author as this series and the Kate Marshall books have been a welcome escape of the past three years.

I’d like to thank netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I am a big fan of Roberts’s and was so excited to see another Erika Foster book finally out! She is back in top form. When a woman is found murdered near her new house, things of course aren’t really what they seem. Trying to track down evidence when it’s all been removed and finding out this woman was a true crime podcaster on the verge of solving a crime merge together when a huge change in the case shocks the team. I couldn’t put this one down and hope there will be more.
