Deputy David Kane and Sheriff Jenna Alton are now finally married but have to cut their honeymoon short when a hurricane hits . Back in Black Rock Falls several murders have taken place and even with all hands on deck more bodies start to fall when Jenna and Dave arrive.

Kiss her Goodnight by D.K.Hood is the 15th book in the police procedural Alton and Kane series. A well written novel with skillfully drawn characters , tension filled ,tightly woven plot makes this a great addition to the series. Looking forward to reading the next one!

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review

Wonderful thriller, this series has been surprisingly awesome with every installment and does not disappoint. This would also work well as a standalone, I am always impressed by their style of writing and the way the books draw you in. The character building is strong and I always feel I am apart of the book.

What an action packed read this proved to be -
With a wedding, a hurricane and serial murder mystery!
It is enthralling right from the start
And never slows down at any part.

When a killer keeps kidnapped victims underground
Until he kills them, leaving their body to be found.
With identifying the victims proving difficult to do
It will take the team scrutinising every little clue!

What a gripping read is this crime thriller
The acts of the perpetrator are a real chiller.
Not for the squeamish, but so tricky it seems
For Alton and Kane working with their teams.

This is a series for those who enjoy crime thrillers
Where the case involves horrendous serial killers.
The team and events are skilfully brought to life
Along with the danger, the trouble and strife.

I can't recommend highly enough this book
And hope you'll be tempted to take more than a look.
For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review

Another fabulous read in this Kane and Alton series, can’t believe it’s book 15 already!
It’s a few days until Jenna and Kane’s wedding day, when the body of a young woman is discovered, she’s been beaten and raped.
The team get into action - with the added benefit of Ty Carter and Jo Wells’ FBI knowledge as they are in town for the wedding.
When a second body is discovered in the same circumstances, the team keep quiet so that the Sheriff and her deputy get their wedding day and honeymoon - but even that doesn’t go to plan.
I love reading these books and the characters seem like family.

I can’t believe this is the fifteenth book in the series featuring Detectives Jenna Alton and Dave Kane and it was another great read. It is never quiet for long in Black Rock Falls as Jenna and Dave realise when they are called out to the vicious murder of a well liked elderly local woman who has a close circle of friends at the local quilting group. Another member of this group is murdered and when Jenna and Dave are investigating a third death in the group they discover a member of their team unconscious and covered in blood at the scene. FBI officers Jo and Carter, who are friends of Jenna and Dave are called in to help solve the case. This is a fast paced, gripping and addictive read with plenty of twists and turns. I can’t wait for book number sixteen.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Kane and Alton book 15!

I love this series it's my absolute favourite, each book is as good as the last. We get to follow what happened with Deputy Poppy who quit suddenly and disappeared, although Jenna had followed her movements and saw she was using her bank cards she just had a bad vibe. When a waitress is kidnapped on her way to her car. Jenna and her team are on the hunt for her. But when a few days later a body is found in the local playground Jenna and Kane are getting a sense of deja vu, they searched for Poppy in the same playground. What is happening do they have a abductor turn killer in town?

I really enjoyed this instalment, esp the fact we got to follow Poppy . As much as I don't like her character (trying to interfere with Jenna and Kane) but i enjoyed following her story and watching it all playout. It was intense from beginning to end and i was happy that we finally got some answers about where the heck Poppy was and what was going on. I loved it.

It's strange now that Kane and Jenna are married I love them together but I also loved the secret romance, there is a lot less flirtation which I miss if I'm honest but that's a small thing really because i love them either way. It was great getting stuck into another case with all the crew it's so nice i feel like i know each character so well and on a personal level, i love the fact that information brought in from other books are mentioned throughout the series. Plus the prose is written so well that i find that i can really see the places being described and like i know them personally, esp the caves in the mountains the area's have been described so well in previous books that i could visualise them even without further description!!!

As always we follow the investigation along side the sheriffs department and it's great trying to work out who the killer was and i must say i had no clue at all even when we had the odd chapter from their POV. So for once i was guessing right until the end i love it! I loved the way Jenna and the team lead the investigation, it's fast pace with so many different avenues that are ventured.

all in all as usual I totally recommend this book and all the books before hand, you can read this as a stand alone but i don't recommend it! I love KANE AND ALTON and I will recommend them all day every day. this was great and written slightly different to the others in the series so it kept me on my toes throughout. 5 stars

Thanks Netgalley, DK Hood and Bookouture for the digital ARC of kiss her goodnight in exchange for my fair and honest opinions.

Another great addition to the series. I was kept guessing by the dark and gruesome murders. This follows up with a character that was introduced in the previous book so i would recommend reading at least that one first, if not all of them. Now I'm still not a Poppy fan but, I do think that she mixes it up a bit because all the other characters are more lovable. I thought the honeymoon was a bit much but it was still an enjoyable read that I didn’t want to put down.

I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

I can't believe we're at No 15 in the Detectives Kane and Alton series, each and every one is as good a read as the last!

Yee-ha! Finally we see Dave and Jenna tie the knot! surprisingly they had a honeymoon, unsurprisingly it wasn't exactly plain sailing. I admit to having a tear in my eyes reading about it. I have to admit it seem to be the natural progression of their relationship but here's hoping it doesn't change their work practices.

I have to ask would you like to live in an area that is known to be a serial killers playground? If your answer is yes then Black Rock Falls is the place for you, not even a slice of pie from Aunt Betty's Cafe would tempt me. It seems to have a broody eeriness cloaking it even in the better weather. On saying that it does have some of the best law enforcement officers in Montana, Dave was a special forces officer, Shane Wolfe who was his handler, not to mention their best connections FBI agents Carter and Jo.

Literally before the big day there's a female body found in a playground dressed in a nightgown with a mask glued to her face, not only that but a number on her back. Now we all know that Jenna is like a dog with a bone and can't leave it alone. Soon after another young female is found again with a mask and a number neither girl has any traces of DNA and before we know it we have the 3rd victim.

I really don't want to go into the plot too much, I don't want to put any spoilers out there but suffice it to say there's consequences if you don't follow the rules, so be prepared.

I know both the author and reviewers say #kisshergoodnight can be read as a standalone and it can but my personal preference is to get in from the beginning, it's the wealth of information and details about long standing characters that I think you need to understand what makes them tick. Needless to say I'm ready for the next instalment.

Thanks to the author D. K. Hood, #Netgalley and Bookouture for my ARC. All opinions are mine and mine alone.

This series is well developed by the time I have started it, as this is book 15. I needed to read the start of the book pretty slowly to fully grasp the characters and the relationships, but once I had, I couldn't stop reading.
Hood is a highly recommended author, and I can see why. The plot flows extremely well and I thoroughly enjoyed being kept along for the ride!
I have come to really love the characters too so will definitely want to read the next installment after this one!

Sheriff Jenna Alton and Dave Kane are finally ready to tie the knot but their plans are in jeopardy when a woman's body is found in the town's playground. Meanwhile, other women live in terror in underground caves...
Kiss Her Goodnight is the 15th book to feature Kane and Alton.
The main plot thread started in Pray For Mercy and was a loose end that I was eager to find out what happened next. Poppy was kidnapped three months ago (in the last book) and has been held underground by a merciless killer. She attempts to use her police training to encourage opportunities for escape. But has she got the emotional strength to cope with his twisted logic?
The subplot of Jenna and Alton's wedding will appeal to fans of the series like me who have been waiting! Their wedding almost doesn't go ahead and then their honeymoon goes spectacularly wrong. There is an added tension as they negotiate their personal feelings and professional lives: it increases their vulnerability but also their resolve.
Other members of the team step up in the investigation to allow Kane and Alton some personal time. There is some forensic detail and the torture of the victims is not explicitly described which leaves it to the readers' imaginations. Poppy's character arc is interesting as I didn't like her much in the last book but now we want her to triumph over the depraved killer.
Kiss Her Goodnight is an entertaining thriller.

This author is in a class by herself. Just amazing. Delivering book after thrilling book packed with suspense, gripping page turners that you just can't bear to put down. Each book in this series is better than the last and this one is just wow. Make sure that you finish all your chores before you start this one as I guarantee you will do nothing else once you start reading. Just wow.

In this book, you finally see what happened and what is happening to the female deputy from the previous book. How the man who took has made it look like she has left to another State and her checks are going there as well. The way the author has written that part is really scary for I wonder if that really happens.
Here even though there is a body discovered at the beginning Jeanna and Dave are still told to get married and leave for their honeymoon, which they do but even that is eventful. Once back they are back into the case and another body is discovered. When I believe it is the third body is found when they find dirt under her nails marching local areas where caves are around but which cave and where. They must hurry their search because now someone else has gone missing she from the dinner. Here when you start thinking you are getting to the end, you’re not still a way to go, and a lot of action and suspense a wait. A wonderful story once again with very good characters and like the other books very much worth the read.

I loved the action and entertainment from the villain. He made the book very exciting to read. The other characters I thought did a good job as well. The Sheriff Jessica and Kane are pretty good when it comes to the investigation of crimes in their town. There were a number of characters to try to keep track of at the very beginning. It was hard for me to remember who was who as they were introduced later on in the book. I thought that the book had a young adult theme to the book. The book is a page turner.

Get ready for another twisty, roller coaster ride with reading Kiss Her Goodnight!
Another great story in the Detectives Kane and Alton series. So many things happening and going on to the point of one saying what else is going to happen?!?!
The main characters as always are engaging and likeable. Well, except for Poppy….I’m not sure about her at all. She’s a bit devious and sly in so many ways. She needs to be watched out for!
Definitely recommended series. You will certainly never get bored and will want to keep turning the pages to the very end.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the privilege of reading this book for my honest review. All opinions and thoughts expressed are my own.
