Another thrilling, fast-paced entry in this enjoyable series. Kane, Alton and the rest of the Black Rock Falls gang are back, faced with a gruesome serial killer. This can be read alone, but don't deprive yourself of reading the rest of the series!

We FINALLY have a married Jenna and Kane 🥳🥳🥳. I can't believe we are this far along in the series. Excited to see what happens next in Black Rock Falls!

This one was pretty disturbing what the serial killer was doing to women 😳. I would say this far into the series they aren't really stand alone reads anymore. Too much has happened but the entire series is amazing

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of Kiss Her Goodnight. This is the second book I have read in this series. I was going to start the series from the beginning, and never did, but I should have. I think this is one series that really builds on previous books, so I was a little lost about who was who and the relationships. The story was good, but brutal and harrowing. I was bored at the start with the wedding and the honeymoon, but probably if I had read the whole series I would have enjoyed it more.

The story does indeed grip you from page one. The writing is excellent and keeps your attention. Though I like mysteries, I do not care for books with serial killers as the subject. Will pass on any further books by this author.

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC. Kane and Alton are two of my faves and this book does not disappoint. We return to Black Rock Falls, where we find our favourite team prepping for a wedding but of course this is Black Rock Falls and no event can go off with out a serial killer popping up! Very quickly the body count rises while the team scrambles to figure out who done it. Will Jenna and Dave make it to the alter? Will they find the killer before he can kill one of their own. A face from the previous book shows up again and I can’t say that they were likeable in this book. Such a great quick easy read. As always looking forward to book 16. You don’t need to read the previous books in this series to enjoy this one but I do highly recolmmend as the characters backstories will make much more sense … and they are all great books!

Oh wow I can’t say enough good things about this one!! I LOVED this one!! The wedding, the honeymoon…the murders…So good!!! I sometimes guess who the killer is but this one I had ZERO clue who was behind the kidnappings and the murders. Literally had me guessing until the reveal. Another fantastic entry in the series that has captivated me and many others!! Bravo D.K.!!

This is book #15 of the Kane & Alton series. Whilst part of a series, it can be read as a standalone book, although I would recommend reading the books in series order for better understanding of the backstories. We are back in Black Rock Falls, and unusually it’s summer and there’s not a scrap of snow and ice around! The storyline, however, will still chill you to the bone when it seems there’s another serial killer on the loose! It couldn’t have come at a more inconvenient time though with an important wedding in the town, but Sheriff Jenna and her loyal team work hard to solve the case.

This book does pick up on the cliff-hanger which we were left at with the last book. The storyline flows along well although, for me, it was a little slower at times than the previous books. I love Sheriff Jenna and Deputy Dave’s characters and think they still, after all this time, work really well together. Jenna’s team are all back to help out in this latest case, and I love how FBI agents Ty Carter and Jo Wells are still around to give their expertise.

The murders are, as usual, gruesome and violent but all in context with the story. The storyline twists and turns, providing us with plenty of characters to be suspicious of, and the author does what she does best in keeping the killer well under wraps until the end! I mentally accused every single character as I read, and yet still didn’t get it right! I was left at the end of the previous book disliking one of the characters (obviously I won’t say which one – spoilers!), and the author has managed to put me back in exactly the same position at the end of this one! I can’t wait for the next book in the series to see what will happen with this character! Would definitely recommend!

Book 15 in this amazing series and just as brilliant as the previous 14. Just as Jenna & Dave escape serial killer central for their honeymoon they get hit with a hurricane and have to get out quick and back to reality in Black Rock Falls. This series is such a rollercoaster ride but I can’t wait to read it but also can’t put it down so it’s over far too quick for my liking. Bring on book 16 I can’t wait. If you haven’t read this series or author do it, you won’t regret it as they are both superb.

5is book was sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley. This reads like a show on Criminal Minds or like a movie..it reads like true crime…at times, the book is gory, but I just read quickly through those passages…this author has woven an ingenious story of murder and intrigue. The characters…the main ones…are likable and real life like…there are, of course, the despicable ones that the reader hopes get caught. This is a series of which I have read only one or two…hope to read more…don’t read with the doors unlocked…don’t take lonely walks after reading…do t start the book at night because you won’t put it down.

PIcking up where the last book ended, D.K. Hood has Kane and Alton getting ready to be married... will they or won't they when an unidentified woman is found in town. Calling in their colleagues from the FBI, Kane and Alton navigate an interesting mystery - who knew there were so many serial killers in Montana, is one of the best lines - while also trying to pursue their personal relationship. I absolutely love this series, and look forward to each novel. D.K. Hood stays so true to the leading characters, as well as has developed one of the best supporting cast around. Thank you to Bookouture for an ARC of this book for my unbiased review.

Poppy Anderson is a very unlikable person - at least to me. When I discovered that she played a major part in this story, I was very disappointed. You could say that it soured me on the book.

The wedding talk was also a distraction. While I’m happy for Dave and Jenna, it got old very quickly. We can’t, we will, yadda, yadda.

The basic story, aside from Poppy, was good. This novel is well written and plotted in Ms. Hood’s usual style. She certainly has a talent for penning stories about serial killers. She comes up with some pretty devious plots. I will continue to read her books.

The killer was just plain sick. His “reason” for killing was pretty wacko.

I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for forwarding to me a copy of this book for me to read, enjoy and review. The opinions expressed here are solely my own.

Thanks once again to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review "Kiss Her Goodnight" by D.K. Hood.
Here we are on Book #15, and the roller coaster ride just keeps getting wilder and wilder. As one character notes, "welcome to psychopath central", Black Rock Falls where the hits just keep on coming.
This one starts off with a body and a wedding, and things get hairy right from the start. The body is an unidentified female who's been recently killed in the most brutal of manners - and right off the bat (pardon the pun) Jenna and Dave (along with Jo Wells, Ty Carter, Shane Wolfe and company) know they might be heading into another killing season. But first, good things happen - and then they go horribly wrong.
Ms. Hood has managed with this one to introduce us to a new psychopathy - a killer who might just be happily married with children, and manages to keep his family in the dark while continuing his spree.
The pace of this one is just as hectic as usual, and along the way we are further educated in the ways of serial murderers, thanks to the incredibly gifted Jo Wells, whose profiles are always on the mark.
The question of the day is: will we ever find out what happened to Poppy?
The book never lets up in intensity, as the bodies begin to pile up - but suddenly something changes completely, allowing the team to finally get a handle on the perpetrator - and the hunt begins.
Highly recommended, but strongly suggest you read the previous books in the series to truly understand what's happening in Black Rock Falls.

Kiss Her Goodnight (Detectives Kane and Alton Book 15) by D. K. Hood was an okay read with a fair mystery. I was not gripped by the story, and there was too much information on the wedding at the beginning that pulled me away from the actual mystery of the story.

I will read more from this author, but this addition to the series did not hold my interest.

Loved this book it was such a great read. I love that Jenna and Kanes relationship has finally progressed, I look forward to following it in future books. The story was great too, I started the book at bed time and couldn’t put it down, I had a very late night! I highly recommend this book, the whole series actually. It totally deserves 5 stars.

Loving this series…..The pace is steady, the plotline is gripping and i was hooked after a few chapters. This is one of those books you can't say too much about as I would spoil it for potential readers. There were times when i was on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put the book down. I highly recommend you read all the books in this series.

The book fans have been hoping for! I love the dynamic between Dave and Jenna. It's realistic. There is a lot of action and suspense in this one. And a re-emergence of a character you love to hate. The mystery is dark and full of twists.
Picking up a book in this series is like visiting with friends. It's a dynamic cast of characters that fans are invested in. It's also a series that new readers can pick up at any book and have a satisfying read.
The end left me smiling. It also has me anxious to see what kind of trouble a certain character is going to try to stir up. Things are also set up in this book for some interesting developments that could throw our beloved characters into complex situations. I can't wait for the next one! Especially after that author letter at the end. Well played Ms. Hood.

Oh wow, back in Black Rock Falls and it’s, once again, amazing to follow this great duo Jenna and Dave. Of course they could not discover the baddies on their own and they have their wonderful team to depend up on.

It has been quiet in the small town, but it never stays that way for a very long time. It’s a paradise for killers or I might even say serial killers and nobody is happy when a victim turns up, but this culprit has a very bad timing. Well, bad in Jenna’s schedule anyway. She had something totally different planned. Will she go through with it and leave the case in her team’s capable hands or will she decide otherwise?

The killer however does not seem to show any signs of stopping what he is doing and he leaves the police force with more questions than answers. Even with the help of FBI agents Carter and Jo they still struggle to come any closer until suddenly there is a breakthrough and it’s all hands on deck.

Time is crucial, as always…

Jenna is not easily scared and with Dave having her back, she is capable of doing things she might not have done without him. She counts and relies on him, but she does not want to him to be overprotective. She wants to show him she can be her own person too.

This time it’s not only a vicious killer who is life threatening…

Another fantastic story with bone chilling bits, but with room for love and happiness too. 5 stars

Thank you

I am back in Black Rock Falls for another dark, intense and terrifying addition to this fantastic series. Home wrecker Poppy Anderson plays a pivotal role in this book and it is not what I was expecting. The Killer is collecting women and he has been doing it for a long time. I had no idea who the killer was until the big reveal. The Killer and his reasons left me chilled to the bone. Another MUST READ in this gripping and very addictive series and I can't wait to read more.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

The story time line is set three months after the last one ended and I think initially I was the only fan that didn’t want Jenna and Kane to be a couple, anyway I’m still undecided, the story like always is tense and fast paced and the reemergence of Poppy is going to cause some tension and headaches for Jenna and the team in the next book. A five star read.

Well it is back to Black Rock Falls and serial killer central! I really do enjoy this series. I cannot believe we're at book #15 already! Black Rock Falls is a magnet for psychos, serial killers, kidnappers and crazy people, but it's also home to Sheriff Jenna Alton, her now husband Deputy Dave Kane, Medical Examiner Shane Wolfe, deputies Zac Rio and Jake Rowley, along with FBI Agents Carter and Jo Wells.

I was super excited to catch up with the cast of characters. Dave and Jenna are now happily married (finally!) and away on their honeymoon when a hurricane hits and it is a race to return to safety back in Black Rock Falls. With the clock ticking, several murders have taken place and everyone is working hard to solve them as more bodies start to fall when Jenna and Dave arrive. This time the killer carves a number in his victims backs and kills in order leaving them naked and on display in town. The murders are gruesome, along with psychological and physical torture.

This could be read as a standalone ... but don't! You would miss so much! If you enjoy Lisa Regan, Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot, you will enjoy this for sure. Fast-paced and suspenseful as only DK Hood can deliver. As usual, there are a few questions I’d love answered but I’m sure she has something up her sleeve. Perhaps we find out in the next book?

Special shout out to DK Hood, NetGalley and Bookouture!
