Enchant the Dawn is the second title in the Enchant series, and delivers every single spine chill I expect from this author or a vampire hero. As a long-time reader of Paranormal Romance, especially vampires, it’s become a given that the vampire character is all-powerful, with little hesitation in their actions. I was charmed early on by Dominic, who is a strong but young vampire who clearly doesn’t always think before he jumps in, and who shows vulnerabilities where he sometimes needs to be rescued. That struck me and perhaps endeared him to me a bit sooner than I expected. Oh, he’s sexy as sin and a force to be reckoned with… but those little touches of hesitation, of getting in over his head, made him a much more interesting character to me.

I adored Maddy. She’s stronger than she believes, and when faced with an entire world that she never knew existed she faces the challenges ahead if she wants to be in Dominic’s life. Yes, her acceptance of the paranormal may seem fast to some, but realistically, hasn’t the entire population of the world been exposed to the fictional paranormal world by now? Why would it take her weeks to realize that the pretend is the reality? At least, that’s how I chose to take her rather fast acceptance of the unknown.

Maddy and Dominic’s story is a fast-paced, steamy, intense, and action-packed tale that highlights the dangers of the world that Maddy is stepping into. We’ll run into witches, more evil vampires, and a revenge-driven villain. I enjoyed myself in this world with a romance that made me smile and a couple that felt right together.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Enchant the Dawn is book 2 in the Enchant series by Amanda Ashley and follows through with normal paranormal romance flair. I generally like Ms. Ashley’s books and I was not disappointed with this latest one. In this book Madison Bainbridge finds herself under attack and is rescued by a stranger that seems charming and kind. She feels the attraction almost immediately and engages in trying to know him better, but he seems to be rather secretive. Dominic Falconer is a young vampire that wasn’t seeking to meet Maddy as he’s in New Orleans on a very different mission. One that turns dangerous as his kind starts disappearing and now Maddy is in the equation to be used against him. This book features a whole gamut of paranormal life as it has witches along with the vampires and Knights of the brotherhood all engaged in spell casting. This book was not overly bloody and the thing I love the most was that in keeping with Dominic’s somewhat youthfulness he was not so alpha and big headed not to seek help to protect Maddy as needed. All in all, this made for a great read if paranormal romance is your thing and will be a great addition to your readers collection. This review was given on an ARC copy received from the Publisher in return for my honest opinion, happy reading!

I really, really enjoyed this book until the ending. The story and characters are very good. I loved the entire cast. I was disappointed in both the final showdown with the villain and the ending. The showdown was anticlimactic considering the lead up to it. I was expecting a great battle but didn't get it. The ending felt like an add on and didn't fit with the rest of the story.

Vampire romance set in New Orleans. Madison Bainbridge is saved from attack one night then Dominic disappears. Dominic comes from a family of vampires mixed with witches. He and Madison will have plenty of surprises to come before they can be together. With plenty of ups and downs as Madison gets used to a life of magic. Dominic has a few enemies including the Knights of the Dark Wood lead by a master Witch.
An exciting start but the pace of the story slows down a little in the middle. This is part of a series but is easy to read as a stand alone.
Thank you NetGalley and (Kensington Books, Zebra) for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

There is plenty of action and as adventure in this story, although be aware that it is part of a series. I did struggle a bit with the author’s writing style, but liked the plot. Maddy, the female main character was sweet, but seemed to have some very old fashioned attitudes towards dating and intimacy. Dominic, the male lead, is not the typical powerful vampire you might expect, but instead is easily and frequently overpowered by other vampires and enemies. To be honest, I found this a bit off putting. I loved Ava, Dominic’s great grandmother, though - she was a great character. The world building is excellent and quite original, with the ongoing battle between the knights and the two different types of vampires.

I love all Amanda Ashley’s books and this one is a love one too. I’ve been reading her books for years and when I need a little paranormal love I come to her.

This is a second in the series so be sure to read the first book Enchant the Night. I love all of the paranormal aspects and different creatures that are written but it also seemed a bit too much and took away form the main characters. If you haven't read the first book you would be completely lost which is fine since this is a second in the series but there wasn't much of a wrap up of the previous book. I understand that this is a romance but the romance came on really quick for me and I prefer a bit more of a slow burn. All in all it was a fun read and an interesting world it just wasn't everything I was hoping for.

ENCHANT THE DAWN is one of those books that you will want to read over and over, just for the astonishing escape it provides - not to mention the romance that will have your heart tripping over itself.

As a fan of Amanda Ashley's books, I was really excited about this one. It sounded great and ordinarily I get sucked right into her stories. That wasn't really the case with this one. There seemed to be a LOT of unnecessary details, at least in my opinion. And that's not to say that this story is bad or anything. If you push yourself past a lot of things, the story is decent, but the main conflict was over almost too quickly. It just seemed to be too much and then not enough. I don't know how else to describe it. There is a lot of action and adventure. I did like some of the interactions between some of the side characters and the main characters. And some people may absolutely love it. But for me, I just didn't. I don't know if I will continue with this series yet, I haven't quite decided. I may try the next book and see if I feel differently.

3.5 stars ENCHANT THE DAWN is the second instalment in Amanda Ashley’s contemporary, adult ENCHANT paranormal, romance series. This is twenty-five year old, vampire Dominic Falconer , and Madison Bainbridge’s story line. ENCHANT THE DAWN can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading book one ENCHANT THE NIGHT.

SOME BACKGROUND: Twenty-five years earlier, vampire Quill Falconer, killed the leader of the Knights of the Dark Wood, a brotherhood of warlocks whose goal is to rid the world of the blood sucking vampires.

Told from third person perspective ENCHANT THE DAWN picks up twenty five years after the killing of the last Elder Knight, and the Knights of the Dark Wood are seeking vengeance for the one that they lost. Unable to locate the vampire responsible, the Knights discover that Quill Falconer’s vampire son Dominic Falconer is currently living in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Knights are determined to get their revenge targeting our story line hero. Dominic Falconer is protected by his great grandmother Ava, a powerful witch who knows a thing or two about revenge herself, and with her magic, Ava intends to protect a young man who is determined to protect the woman he will love.

Meanwhile, a young woman is saved from an attack by our story line hero, a young woman with whom Dominic will fall in love. Enter Madison Bainbridge, a woman who is about to discover a world of supernatural creatures, creatures whose powers she knows nothing about. What ensues is the building but struggling romance and relationship between Dominic and Madison, and the potential fall-out as our couple are target by more than one predator, targeted for sins of the past.

There is more than one magical creature looking for our story line hero. From the Knights of the Dark Wood, to a warlock desperate for his freedom, to a female vampire whose lust for the Falconer blood knows no boundaries including past alliances and sins. Dominic is determined to woo the woman that calls to his heart, a woman who will quickly learn there is something more in the world in which she lives.

The relationship between Dominic and Madison is a slow building romance. Dominic struggles to reveal the nature of his beast, fearing Madison will not accept the man he has become. Madison struggles with the truth about the man with whom she is falling in love but quickly realizes it is the man that she loves, not the monster within. The $ex scenes are passionate but mostly implied.

The secondary and supporting characters include Elder Knight Gregory, warlock Jasper, Dominic’s great grandmother Ava Langley, vampire Claret, Madison’s parents, as well as the return of Dominic’s parents Quill and Callie Falconer.

ENCHANT THE DAWN is a detailed and complex story of revenge and obsession, magic and power, love and forever. I recommend reading book one as the events of the current time are as of a direct result of the events of book one. The premise is intriguing and entertaining but something was missing –there is more telling than showing; the characters are interesting and energetic; the romance is subtle .

When a mysterious man rescues Madison Bainbridge from a random attack, she sees only his broad shoulders, his gray eyes, and his kindness. But as she gets to know him, Madison realizes that he’s keeping secrets. Vampire Dominic Falconer wanted nothing more than a few weeks in New Orleans. He didn’t expect his intense feelings for Maddy, or for his enemies to take advantage of the situation.
This was a great vampire paranormal romance filled with interesting characters, and a plot that kept me interested until the last page. Madison was a very likeable heroine, although she was a little naïve, at times. Dominic was the alpha hero, who was into protecting Madison at all costs. The romance seemed a little convoluted and quick. This story included vampires, witches and spellcasting. There was mild violence, which mostly included biting. I recommend this story to readers of paranormal romance. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books/Zebra for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

Amanda Ashley brings danger and suspense to her second book in the Enchant series, Enchant the Dawn . Set mainly in and near New Orleans, Louisiana, readers meet Dominic Falconer who rescues Madison (Maddy) Bainbridge when she is attacked in her parents’ home. Maddy recently lost her job and is staying at her childhood home while her parents are on an extended world vacation. Dominic is a young but strong vampire sent to New Orleans with his great-grandmother, a powerful witch, to learn where the new headquarters of the Brotherhood is. They wish to speak with the Elder Knight.

Both Maddy and Dominic are likeable, but flawed characters. While Maddy evolves during the course of the novel, Dominic doesn’t have quite as much growth and development as I expected. The chemistry between them is almost immediate and adds another dynamic to the story. I want to connect with the main characters in a book, and Maddy and Dominic were both relatable. However, I thought Maddy’s acceptance of the supernatural came too quickly. While other characters vary in depth, Claret actually had the most character growth over the course of the novel.

Despite this, there’s plenty to like in this urban fantasy and paranormal romantic suspense storyline. It has the right amount of romance and unique twists to the paranormal. I was quickly turning the pages to discover what was going to happen next. Readers learn early in the book who the antagonists are, so there isn’t a lot of mystery around that. The danger and suspense arise from their actions, and that is the plot driver along with the budding romance.

One thing that stood out to me was that Dominic was not always the rescuer. With his inexperience, he sometimes gets in over his head and needs help. This provides a different aspect to the normal alpha male narratives that are so common. I was surprised at several points in the story and this kept the tension level high throughout the book. I liked the plot development and the dialogue was engaging. This story is fast-paced and the writing flowed well. Other threads woven into the novel include death, family, right versus wrong, revenge, and the power of love and forgiveness.

Overall, this was an intense, action-packed novel with suspense, romance, and plenty of danger. If you desire an entertaining paranormal romantic suspense novel involving witches, humans, wizards, and vampires, then this series is one to check out.

This was an okay read but it was heavy on characters that were unnecessary and just bogged down the story.

The main issue was dealt with way too easily and then several more chapters happened which further bogged down the story.

This is the start of a series but I won't be continuing it just wasn't for me.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a wild and thrilling adventure! Enchant the Dawn truly enthralled and delighted me every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for more when presented with bewitching characters, sizzling heat, and a mesmerizing journey. What is there not to love when you are carried away on the wings of mystery and left enthralled with each wicked twist of fate as it leads to something too exquite to describe?!

One moment of weakness led Maddy to her greatest adventure imaginable. Nothing could have ever prepared her for what life would bring to her door much less into her heart. That singular moment changed more then just Maddy's life. Dominic found that he would never be the same again. He would not view life in the same mundane way or imagine his future to hold only the usual. Will Dominic dare to step out of his designed path and grab hold of what his heart desires, or will Maddy allow fear to hold her back from something too wonderful to imagine?

Dominic was such a normal, humble person coming from his well-known family. I loved this about him. All he wanted was to do whatever he could to help those around him. He didn't ask for anything in return, but when he stormed into Maddy's life, he knew there was no going back. Maddy struck me as such a sweet, down-to-earth person who just wanted to build a life she loved. When she found Dominic, she knew he would be important, but she tried not to hope too much for fear of disappointment. Her big heart paved the way for a brilliant future if she was brave enough to grab it and hold on tight.

Amanda Ashley blew my mind with her beautifully fascinating world full of lethal darkness and brilliant light. Her characters were fiesty and loveable, and I can't wait to find out more about them. She has created an addicting world that will have you begging for more as you lose your heart to its secrets and your mind to its possibilities.

This is a sweet story of romance with plenty of danger added. Dominic is a powerful vampire but he gets into plenty of trouble and often needs rescuing. Ava, his great great grandmother was the star of the book to me. She is powerful and attentive. She keeps her family in line and strives to bring them happiness.

This was a book I had to force myself to finish. The plot was slow and plodding and at times impossible to believe. The hero to be wasn't really one..he was ambushed and hurt several times and seemed to be very stupid. The grandmother was the real savior here. The heroine was whiny and annoying.
