I had to dnf this book.
This book was so Not for me it singlehandedly had me back in a reading slump.
I really don't want to rude or harsh but there is a number of things that was just getting me out of the story.
The numbers next to names, the obsession with Falconer, this weird ass war between the two vampire "species" (but all they are is just from different countries).
No, as much as I love vampire books this is just all too..... something.
On top of that the writing and sentence compositions were so jarring I couldn't focus at all.
I'm sorry if this is too harsh.

Written by Amanda Ashley, Enchant the Dawn follows Maddie and Dominic as Dominic hunts the hunters hunting his vampire people. I hope that made sense.

This is a vampire romance, with lots of short steamy scenes, and honestly, it is just meant to scratch that particular itch. The writing was fine, but honestly, the hunters felt unnecessary and that they didn't add a whole lot to the plot.

Not only that, but everything felt forced and then, magically, baby is here and everything is absolutely fantastic! This definitely didn't leave me wanting for more, but if you are looking for something that is a happy, semi-tame vampire romance, this could be a good fit for that particular bill.

I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dominic, one of the good kind of vampires, is sent to New Orleans to find the evil Dark Knight who has a vendetta against his family for killing the Dark Knight’s father. There he meets Maddy-saves her from an attack, in fact.

Maddy is a human who has no idea what she is getting into when she starts to date Dominic. He himself has no idea the mortal danger he’s put Maddy in. Mixed up in a preternatural battle, can Dominic save Maddy while battling the forces of evil?

Dominic is a hunk- tall dark and handsome. He is initially a happy content guy until thing heat up. Then he becomes The Protector. Maddy seemed to me to be too laid back about finding out Dominic’s great-grandmother Ava is a witch and that Dominic himself is a vampire. When she finds out the former, it seems she only needs a day and a night full of nightmares to process the info. I would have thought there would be a bit more drama there. And the final battle between Dominic and the Dark night is pretty non-epic, lacking in drama as well!

All that said, it is a nice story, the world building is pretty easy to follow and the pace flows. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Ananda Ashley never disappoints with her books! I love getting to know the next generation of Falconer men and their women. Dominic and Maddy was a great read. Is Lily getting a story?

2/5 stars

This is not for my age group. I’m 24 and I was hoping that it was just a bad cover giving 90s or early 2000s vibes. The writing felt very dated and I wasn’t a fan of the characters.

Maddy and Dom's romance. Hard to put this one down! Vampires and witches, oh my! Lots of heat and adventure kept the story clipping right along. Highly recommend this one.
