The cover pulls you in with that cute pig on the front. This is the seventh book in the Amish Candy Shop Mysteries. It can be read out of order although to get the most out of the series I suggest reading in order.
Thanksgiving is Bailey King’s busiest holiday weekend. Swissmen Sweets, is providing desserts for Harvest, Ohio’s first village-wide Thanksgiving celebration. All is well until an unexpected guest falls dead at the table. Bailey is on the case to keep a good friend from going to prison. I love this series.

I’m the continuing story of Bailey and Swissmen’s Sweets, we’re getting ready for a town wide thanksgiving dinner, but with a guest few (if any) are excited to see- Margot’s mother, the retired judge has come to town. With the past animosity between the Amish and the Judge, no one is in for a pleasant holiday.

As with most of the books in this series, I enjoyed reading the story. Though these stories can sometimes feel a little slow, I enjoy my time in this world- it’s sweet, wholesome, and even though there tends to be a murder, there’s always a happy ending and some type of hope for the future of our characters.

Peanut Butter Panic by Amanda Flower is the seventh mystery in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. In Peanut Butter Panic, it is Thanksgiving time and Bailey King, candy shop owner, is in the middle of her busiest time of the year when she is recruited to help Margo get the town square set up for the Community Thanksgiving dinner. When someone ends up dead during the dinner, Bailey, amateur sleuth that she is, finds herself on the case.

I love every book Amanda Flower has written and the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series is in my top five favorite series of all time, so I am happy to say, Peanut Butter Panic didn’t disappoint. This mystery pulled me in from the very beginning and I loved being able to follow along with Bailey as she hunted for clues. The characters in this series are some of my favorites and I always look forward to seeing what they will get up to in each mystery. I liked the fact that Margo was a main focus in this mystery, I’m used to her being an important background character, but this time we got to learn a little more about her and get a peak into why she is the way she is. I have always loved the Harvest setting and I liked getting to see if at Thanksgiving, it sounds like somewhere I would love to visit. I love the mysteries on this series and I would really recommend them to anyone who loves cozy mysteries. I can’t wait to see what Amanda Flower has in store for Bailey next!

Another great book by Amanda Flower! I'm new to the Amish Candy Store series, but have already checked out the earlier ones from the library. The characters are believable and struggle with real issues (relationships and family), I love the Amish town, and appreciated the respect and curiosity the author gave the Amish people.
In Peanut Butter Panic, there is a Thanksgiving Town Celebration that Bailey is heavily involved in. A visitor is murdered while there, and Bailey begins to investigate. A great holiday read!

Bailey and Jethro are back! But is Aiden? Peanut Butter Panic has Bailey and Jethro spending more time together, while Bailey is trying to figure out where her relationship with Aiden is going. Meanwhile, Margot turns over the Harvest Square Thanksgiving preparations to Bailey when she has to pick up her formidable mother, the former judge Zara, from the airport.
Zara surprises everyone by bringing home a considerably younger fiancé. From there on, we are drawn into solving another mystery with Bailey and her cohorts
Another excellent addition to Flower’s Amish Mystery series. There was one major flaw in the third to last sentence before the epilogue, which I hope will be fixed before the book goes to print. Otherwise, an enjoyable cozy.

This cozy mystery series is always such fun to read! Bailey King and her Amish grandmother co-own the candy shop founded by Bailey’s grandparents. Since Bailey’s parents chose not to stay within the Amish community, Bailey was raised outside of it. As a professional chocolatier, Bailey’s found her place in helping her grandmother at their shop, Swissman Sweets in the small town of Harvest, Ohio. Because of past events, Bailey now has a national TV show, bringing more business to both the town and the sweetshop. A communal Thanksgiving feast is scheduled, with the major Black Friday selling weekend to follow. But trouble is brewing in town and this time, the town organizer, Margot, is involved. Sadly, there’s a death at the feast and Bailey is asked to help solve the case, based on her past experiences. There are several wonderful returning characters, including Jethro, the famous polka-dot pig. Just a delight to return to Harvest and see what is happening!

Love this series!!! Bailey and her grandmother own Swissmen Sweets, a candy shop in Ohio. The characters are very well developed. Solid mystery. You'll be kept guessing. Another excellent book!!! What a fun mystery! The story was great, lots of mystery and thrills along with the characters. Rally enjoyed this book!

This Amish series is one of my most favorite cozy series' to read! I just love Millie (even though her presence is minimal in this book) I'm ambivalent about Bailey. As for this newest installment? A fun little read! I loved getting to know Margot and her background a bit better. No surprises in this one, but it paves the way for future plot lines so I'm happy about that. Worth picking up!

This is the seventh book in the series and I have read them all. While I love this series, I must say that I love this book more than the last. There was plenty of action between both the Amish and the Englisch, with both pointing fingers at the other side. And Bailey has more on her plate this time than usual, with wanting to help her grandmother before the woman wears herself out completely, and decide just exactly where her and Aiden's relationship is going. But it all takes a back seat to solving the murder, and when it all comes together, it's because of a strange event and a clue that might never have ordinarily been found.

I love the characters in this one, including the addition of Leon, who though young, makes you want to put an arm around him and bring him into your home to live. I felt that he's lost in more ways than one, and I hope that in future books we find him coming into a better life. I also thought it was a hoot about our little pot-bellied pig friend Jethro being a celebrity on his own, and even as a subplot it was fun to read.

When the ending comes and the murderer is revealed, I had a feeling all along, but I wanted to see how it played out. Bailey is up to her usual sleuthing best, and she puts it together nicely and while it left shocks all around, I felt that it was handled realistically and well. The author is very good at setting scenes and putting the clues out there, and bringing everything together just as it should be.

All in all, I did enjoy the ending and like how it gives us something to look forward to in the next book. Highly recommended.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The mystery was well done and I like how the characters change and grow from book to book. It was interesting to learn more about Margot and why she’s such a stickler for perfection. However, Bailey and Aiden’s relationship is getting tiresome. They either need to get engaged or Bailey needs to move on.

Amanda Flower has knocked it out of the park again with this book. Bailey always gets involved whenever there is a murder in town. I was totally blindsided to discover who the murderer was. The author held my attention from page one to the end of the book. We see some of the same characters from the previous books in the series and it feels like a family reunion. I highly recommend this book and I was was definitely not disappointed.

It is almost Thanksgiving and the start of busy season at Swissmen Sweets, the candy shop Bailey King runs along with her beloved Amish grandmother. Busy as she is, she is also helping Margot Rawlings organize a Thanksgiving celebration for close to seven hundred people both Amish and English. Margot is usually well-organized, it a bit tough to deal with, so Bailey is surprised when Margot is flustered because her mother Zara is coming for a visit. Bailey soon discovers why – Zara is a former judge who was known as being harsh, especially when it came to sentencing the Amish and she is equally harsh on Margot. Time hasn’t changed Zara – nor has having a much younger boyfriend, Blaze Smith. When Blaze dies shortly after they announce their engagement, there are plenty of suspects including Margot and some Amish men Zara sentenced to jail years ago. Zara wants Bailey to find the killer but what she uncovers will shock many people.

“Peanut Butter Panic” is the delightful seventh book in Amanda Flower’s Amish Candy Shop Cozy Mystery Series. I love this series – especially the candy shop and Amish/English setting. Bailey is a great character – devoted to her Amish grandmother but wanting to expand the candy shop in ways that her grandmother may not approve of. I also love the supporting characters – both human and animal, especially Jethro the pig who made me laugh many times while reading the book. And then there is Margot – we learn so much more about her in this book and in many ways she is a more sympathetic character by the end of the book – her mother is one of the nastiest people I’ve come across in a cozy mystery. The mystery itself is well done with just the right amount of suspects and some surprises along the way including the identity of the killer which really did take me by surprise.

Is it good or bad that at one point I was so caught up in the antics of Jethro the pig that I momentarily forgot there was a murder? I'm going with good. It simply shows how focused main character Bailey King could be in the face of, well, I won't share because I want you to enjoy them as they happen, but will say in the face of some funny but pulse raising events. Heck, she even manages to elude some attack turkeys. Nope, don't ask. Not telling. You really, really need to read this book.

In any case, back to the murder. If it wasn't bad enough that Margot, organizer of Harvest, Ohio's Thanksgiving festivities, is upset by the visit of her overbearing, self-focused, and, well, terribly unlikable mother, Zara, but her mother's much younger boyfriend is murdered at the event. Who did it and why? Was it daughter Margot, already distressed by her mother's unexpected visit? How about one of the Amish who suffered because of the harsh punishments Zara doled out as a judge? Or, hmm, maybe someone from Blaze's own past? How will Bailey sort it all out while getting up to make candy for the shop in what amounts to the middle of the night for most of us, babysitting Jethro, juggling her media presence, avoiding the sharp teeth of Zara's little dog Gator, making future business plans, investigating the murder, and trying to sort out her own relationship with Aiden? There are even some genuine booby-traps she has to avoid.

Nope, not telling, but you'll enjoy the ride. Not only is Bailey likable but her family and friends are, too. They're people we'd like to know and spend time with. I love how sensitive Bailey is to the Amish community, for instance, an affection that isn't always readily returned, but it shows her caring personality. Aiden, the love interest, shows an emotional, caring side of himself, too, and, well, his mother seems to be a lovable force all her own. Read this one. You'll love it. Number 7 in Amanda Flower's longer running series to date, "Peanut Butter Panic" is a winner. I hated to see it end.

We all know that Margot has a way of getting things done in Harvest. Her goal is to make Harvest a main tourist attraction. She has a way of bossing people and getting things done. This time around Margot is putting on a community Thanksgiving meal. The only fly in her ointment is that her mother has decided to come for a visit. Margot's mother is no friend to the Amish of Holmes County. Once a judge who was extremely tough on Amish lawbreakers, not too many people are looking forward to seeing her. When her special friend dies from an extreme peanut allergy Margot and the judge enlist Bailey to help find out what exactly happened.

We get to catch up with all of the characters we have come to know and love. Of course Bailey can't keep herself from investigating the death. But she is also worried about her relationship with Aiden. Everyone assumes that they will marry soon, especially Aiden's mother. But Bailey feels like they are growing apart. I hope that isn't the case, because they really belong together! Charlotte is just as curious as Bailey and I totally can see her with her own series solving murders. Of course we can't have an Amish Candy Shop mystery without Jethro the pig. He's up to his usual capers and makes for a couple of funny scenes. The mystery takes a couple of twists and turns before it is solved and keeps the reader guessing. I love that there is always a recipe included at the end of the book. This one contains the Buckeye recipe that Bailey uses in the story. I've made Buckeyes for years and can vouch that they are YUMMY! A great addition to the series, grab your favorite hot drink, snack and blanket and curl up and enjoy!

This is the seventh book in the amish candy shop mystery series. I absolutely adore Harvest, Ohio and all of the characters in these books. They are incredibly well written and the characters are well thought out.

Margot Rawlings Is throwing a Thanksgiving celebration for both the English and Amish at the town square. Everything is on track until she finds out her mother, Zara, a judge who has actively harmed the Amish community will be attending. Zara arrives with much younger boyfriend Blaze Smith and reveals that they are getting married!! The news is quickly replaced when Blaze suffers an allergic reaction to something he’s eaten and dies on the spot.

Did Blaze eat something he was allergic to or was he slipped something in his food? It is up to Bailey to help find the answers before Margot ends up as the main suspect!!

I have enjoyed the adventures of Bailey at Swissmen Sweets for awhile. This one centers around Thanksgiving and a huge dinner that Margot is organizing. We finally get to know more about Margot. The mystery has some twists and Bailey of course is involved. Her relationship with Aiden is becoming tiresome. I have mixed thoughts about the ending.

This is a wonderful cozy series. Even though there are multiple characters, no one gets lost. All of the characters a fully formed and fabulous right down to my favorite Jethro!
