A charming, emotional romance centered on two people whose lives are unexpectedly thrown together due to illness and love. It's heartfelt without being overly dramatic, and the characters feel genuine and relatable. The medical subplot adds depth but doesn’t overwhelm the romance. A warm, hopeful story about finding connection against the odds.

DNF'd because the writing style didn't work for me.
Thanks to Grape Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Unlikely Match had a fun premise—enemies-to-lovers in a shared office space, startup drama, plus a serious health storyline to add some weight. Jules was quirky and strong-willed, and Tom was your classic cold CEO with a hidden soft side. Their dynamic had its moments, and there were definitely a few spicy scenes that fans of the genre will enjoy.
That said, the tone felt a little uneven—sometimes super light and flirty, other times heavy with the medical stuff—and the shift didn’t always land smoothly. It just wasn't really for me.

This heartwarming story from Laura Bradbury appealed to me because my husband has received two double lung transplants. The struggles that Jules has with being sick enough to receive a liver transplant, but well enough to survive the procedure had hit very close to home with my husband going through the exact struggles. I love the sincere and gentle way that Thunder looked at Jules from the beginning. Definitely tugs at ones heartstrings. I would love to see more transplant romances from Laura in the future. Thank you to Laura and Netgalley for this advance readers copy.

this book was a 4 ⭐️ for me i couldn’t put it down. I loved how jules didn’t let her illness define her. And ughhh i can’t tell you how much i loved Tom !!!
thank you netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an arc !!

I didn’t enjoy the style of writing and found the dialogue slightly forced, however it was a good read

This book has been on my Netgalley shelf for years and I haven’t picked it up. No shade to the author or the book, I think my taste has just changed and I’m not the right person to review it anymore.

I really enjoyed this book. It was so different to your normal regular romance novels which was such a lovely change.

An okay read with some interesting ideas, but the execution falls a little short. The pacing feels a bit inconsistent, and there are moments where the story drags on unnecessarily. The characters have potential but aren’t fully fleshed out, which made it hard for me to connect with them. Overall, it’s a decent book if you’re looking for something light, but it doesn’t leave a lasting impression.

This book was so close to being a five star read. And in the first part I was so sure that it would be. The tears I cried, the joy and sadness wrapped all in one assured me this book was gonna be amazing. But the second part just didn’t live up to the first. It felt tamer, slightly sloppier and just not what I would expect from the characters LB built in that first part.
The story was intriguing and the character well written. I felt really connected to Jules throughout her journey. She’s stronger than anyone could ever be and so realistically written that I feel as if many will find comfort in her character. Tom was the sweetest, purest Angel bf that anyone could ever ask for but don’t deserve. His rocky childhood, trauma and all made him into the most caring, considerate person.
I loved seeing both their characters develop and love seeing how the flaws they possessed was intertwined with the story. The plot was face paced and took little effort to get into, the writing was easy to o follow along and don’t we all love a bit of spice?😏
Hate her family, they can suck it.
The epilogue???? Weird. I’d prefer to not remember that😂😂

I have started and stopped reading Unlikely Match. I was excited about the premise; however, this one was a miss for me. I will not be reviewing this book on my social media.

Mmmm...didn't love this one. I felt bored for 80% of the book.
I know that I don't usually expect much out of rom-coms, but this wasn't giving me anything. I felt no connection to the characters, and I didn't even really feel the connection between them.
I think I would recommend this if you are just looking for a quick read, but don't expect anything earth-shattering.

Unlikely Match by Laura Bradbury is a perfect fit for readers who crave a steamy and emotionally intense workplace romance with a strong focus on themes of organ transplant, loyalty, and the complexities of human connection, as well as those who enjoy a healthy dose of wry humor and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers storyline.

This book was wonderfully sweet and full of hope. It was gentle and kind, romantic and beautiful. I highly recommend this.

As someone with a chronic disease, it's rare for me to want to read a book about it as we all live our medical issues day in and day out. However, I fell *in love* with Unlikely Match by Laura Bradbury.
Jules bright, successful and pierogi-obsessed. She's young and accomplished, running a travel start-up with her bestfriend in subsidized office space. But, the space is shared with another startup. Enter: Tom, the CEO of the startup they have to share space with. He's all about the hustle, not so bright colors, and isn't the most social. Jules isn't exactly thrilled about sharing her space with a "tech bro" like Tom. But as they start to peel back the layers, she realizes there's more to him than meets the eye. And before she knows it, Tom is way more important to Jules than she'd ever admit.
But, of course, there's a kicker. Jules is battling a rare liver disease. She needs a transplant. And she doesn't want Tom to know.
I usually swoon over the MMC but in Unlikely Match, I fell hard for Jules and her sheer determination not to let disease run her life. I found myself rooting for not only Jules and Tom but also their future together, hopefully free of disease.
Big thank you to NetGalley and Laura Bradbury for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an extremely cute romance that has a very deep and serious undertone. The FMC's experience dealing with a rare autoimmune disease (PSC) has the potential to weigh the entire story down, but is handled really well in the context of the story. While it's a heavy topic to have be such a major part of the storyline, there are also bright spots of relief that help the story flow and keep it on target to the HEA that the two MCs truly deserve. Each of the MCs have a lot that they're working though personally - and I really appreciated the role that mental health and therapy played in each of their journeys.
Read this story if you enjoy:
> Slow Burn Romance
> Workplace Romance
> Enemies-to-Friends-to-Lovers
> Opposites Attract
> Mental health/chronic illness rep
I was quickly hooked on this story - with the dynamics between the two MCs - but also with the surrounding cast of characters. There are a lot of well defined, nuanced characters that make up this story and support the MCs on their character arcs. I also appreciated the Author's Note at the end. This is obviously an extremely personal story and the author did a great job weaving her experiences into this set of fictional characters to raise awareness while telling a wonderful story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC to read and review. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Once starting this book I could not put it down! I work in the medical field and always love a good medical story. I loved the slow burn and enemies to lover throughout this book and it is one that I would highly recommend

I was hoping to love this book as I also have a chronic illness, but I think it got too close to home for me (even though my condition isn't the same as in the book). Still, I love seeing disability and chronic illness representation in books, and for that, I wish this book would become number 1 on Booktok, but I don't think it will. If you have a chronic illness, I urge you to at least attempt to read this book. I am planning to read this book again in the future when I am not feeling so vulnerable. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for sharing this book with me <3

This was definitely a twist on the enemies-to-lovers trope! I love the twist of her needing a transplant and the workplace steaminess that happens. I'll definitely be reading more of Bradbury for her dark humor!!

This is a truly beautiful story about illness and love that is written in a spectacular way. the enemies portion of this book doesn’t hold back which I absolutely love. I feel like a lot of the time the enemies to lovers trope isn’t written right and that is absolutely not the case with this book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to read an inspiring love story.
