This was a sweet enemies to lovers romance. I liked it a lot, but it wasn't perfect. I enjoyed the journey of it, though.

3.5/5 ⭐

I laughed a little, I cried a little, I learned a little.
Tom and Jules could not be more different but are somehow perfectly imperfect together.
Loved the development of the characters from beginning to end. Would totally read sequels with Tarun and Alan or Tessa and Dr Abebe.

Laura Bradbury is one of the kindest people! I was so honored to be able to read this one! Oh man, this book was full of so much goodness. The way that Laura incorporated her own experiences as a transplant survivor made this one even more realistic and impacting. I was rooting for the MC from the very first page, but seeing her connect with Tom even in the middle of her trials was beautiful. I wont spoil too much for anyone else, but PLEASE go read this one!

A really enjoyable romance. I liked the dynamic between the two main characters and how they both had their own insecurities that they worked on together. I love how it looked into how not all families understand or care about you when you are unwell. A solid 4/5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Laura Bradbury for the copy of Unlikely Match. I would rate this book 3.5/5 stars. I thought the whole premise and storyline were overall good. I thought the medical aspect of the story was really well written, tugged at my heartstrings, educational, and really detailed. The other aspects of the story felt a little disjointed, in my opinion. I couldn't really consistently get behind Tom and Jules' chemistry. It was on, it was off, it was on again...a little wishy washy for me. I also could not stand her family. They were AWFUL and hung around WAY TOO LONG. There was not one redeemable character in the lot and she should have ditched them way earlier in the story. Despite the terrible family, I thought the story was good. I was glad to have read something that allowed me to learn about organ transplants and wasn't just total fluff!

I loved this book to a different dimension. Such a heartwarming and swoon worthy read. I have always been a fan of stories with terminal illness. But this one might be my favourite of all. The protagonist of this story is Jules, who is a patient of terminal liver disease and in need of transplant. Her counterpart, Tom, who works in the same space as Jules. This book is a slow burn and enemies to lovers, and I'm so in love with these tropes. And they were beautifully done here. The pace was perfect. And Laura hooked me with her writing and characters really fast, I finished this book within a few years. One of the best reads of this year. 5/5

Can't wait to read more from the author.

I didn’t think I was going to enjoy about this book but I throughly enjoyed it and will definitely recommend it. I’m so glad Jules had a strong support with her friends.

I really got into a big reading slump and didn't want to touch any book at all. I finally managed to get out of it and finished this one. Glad I finally did.

Interesting rom-com experience for me. Wasn't expecting it to be so much about the rollercoaster of rare liver disease, but I was entertained and found out a lot more of this topic. The banter between two main characters were delightful experience. I loved the nicknames for each other. ""Do I really need nickname?" "If you're going to call me Tyrannosaurus Tom, yes""
Somehow everything felt real and alive and hurting at some point. A lot did happened in the story, but it is life and it isn't easy in any means. Am I right? "Only way to learn how to live again is to... live."
Oh and it felt funny when there was Latvia was mentioned, a bit randomly, because I am from Latvia. I guess thanks for mentioning it. :D

Somehow the ending felt a bit flat for me, I wanted full on Jujube and Thunder but it cut short. (I was hitting pillow for it :D )

Really thank You for the experience and knowledge of this topic!
Thanks NetGalley !

The "I hate him but I want to fuck him" energy is strong with this one 🌈

I love how flawed and realistic these characters are. How they're all awkward especially with Tom's golden retriever energy! You wouldn't think he'd be a sweet and awkward guy after that first impression of him!

This book has equal amounts of heart-warming and heart breaking, with a couple of side characters that I definitely felt like throttling 😂😂

Pick this book up! You won't regret it 🤩

I really loved this story. Jules and Tom had the best enemy chemistry from the get-go, and it was very refreshing to see a heroine whose challenges were through no part of her own. The ending just killed me. So, so good.

A beautiful unfolding of a love story with so much depth.

Unlikely Match is a deep plunge into the nitty gritty of a terminal illness with the hope of a transplant. I typically don't cry while reading, but found myself, on more than one occasion, wiping away tears.

When I crack open a novel, my hope is always to see life from a different point of view than the one I live, and this book held to that standard. Since living through her own transplant, Laura enables the reader to truly understand the feelings and emotions.

Unlikely Match is more than just a romance between Jules and Tom, it is an unfolding of how to remain living in the face of dying.

One of my fav books of this month. It is all the best parts from the Love Hypothesis and The Spanish Love Deception rolled into one.

The disability/chronic illness rep was beautifully done.

The book jumps right into the plot from the very first page. This is an own voice narrative, and it was fascinating (if I can use that word) to see how a person with a disease that is not overtly visible manages to deal with the world around them.
I would not claim to be in those ranks, but there have been moments when people make assumptions about my life as if I had a choice in some matters. I am sure I might have inadvertently done the same to someone else. Imagine such a scenario and dial up the debilitating back story, and you will have the life of Jules Kelly. She is trying to run a company that she founded with her best friend while trying to just stay alive. Her problems seem so vast and all-encompassing that I marvel at any person who manages to continue to maintain their regular lives while handling this.
That is only one aspect of the story; the other is the romance angle of sparks flying from the very first argument. I am a fan of this trope done well and must admit that I liked the way it played out. Both sides made assumptions about the other, and some are bigger than others.
Jules wears bright clothes and cherishes her non-conforming entrepreneurial spirit, while her opponent is a man who dresses in a monochromatic fashion and likes to stick to the set ways. Their choices are explained in better detail as we get to know them better.
I liked the pace of the narrative and found myself deep into the story a few chapters in because of the way the author chose to tell it. I ended up reading it in one sitting, mostly because I could. It was just the right sort of story for the time, and I appreciated the depth and pain hidden alongside the fluffy meet-cute (albeit with a few hiccups). It is not very explicit, making it even better.
I have not read any books by the author before but would recommend this to others who like this genre. I must say that the people on the cover did not meet my exact imagining based on the descriptions, but that almost hardly ever happens.
The ending was expected but still satisfying, which is what I always hope for in romantic titles.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is based on my own reading experience.

This book was unique, creative, heart warming, and swoon worthy! We got grumpy vs sunshine, enemies to lovers, a workplace romance all in one book. I really liked the happy personality that Jules had, and it was fun to see her relationship with Tom change drastically throughout the book. First they were enemies, then they were together, then they were in love, then they broke up, and finally they got back together. I think it was smart of Jules to break up with him when she did because they had an attachment that blurred her actual feelings for him and her gratitude for his decision to save her life and donate part of his pancreas.

I would recommend this book to anyone searching for a happy book with an emotional journey and a guaranteed HEA.

I received this book a few months ago but just started reading it. I literally finished it in one night! This book is so good! I loved the story with Jules and Tom, it is an enemies to lovers and transplant romance. Jules, who has been suffering from PSC for five years, needs a kidney transplant when the reader is first introduced to her. She and Tom share a workspace (both own two different companies) and they don't get off on the right foot, but Jules recognizes something from the moment they meet she admits Tom begins to bring some life back to her. Jules goes through so much and mentally has to prepare for a life unknown; we get a sense of who she is at the beginning of the book, and then we see how she and Tom change in the second half of the book and how those changes affect their relationship.

One of the things I loved about this book is we get to read more about someone who is dealing with an incurable disease. The author, Laura Bradbury, takes the reader along on Jule's health journey. We get to experience the ups and downs of someone who has to have an organ transplant, and the after-effects once someone has received a new organ. Mental health is another theme in this book, not only for Jules but Tom as his back story. I am giving this book five stars, I laughed and cried it made me feel all the feels at 2 a.m.

If you enjoyed The Fault in Our Stars and Five Feet Apart then this book is right up your alley. Lovable characters, unique but emotional plot with a fairly predictable storyline, I still really enjoyed this book!

I have to say, I didn't know what to expect when reading this book but I actually REALLY enjoyed it! It has so many swoon-worthy tropes like enemies to lovers, opposites attract, close proximity, and office romance all rolled up into one! Like WHAT - that's awesome! There is lots of chemistry, lots of emotions and lots of tears. It's not light, but it's oh-so-good!!! This book made me happy, feel all the feels and laugh out loud. It's not my favorite book in the world, but it's truly such a good one! I would certainly recommend!
