Margot Noble needs and break. Unfortunately, her breaks came at the wrong time when she decides to have a one-night stand with a handsome stranger named Luke. Little does she know that Luke is the new hire from her brother while she was out of town on a marketing trip. Hello HR conundrum. The realization is made more difficult by the sibling rivalry that exists between her and her older brother. Now, she must try to be a professional boss while denying the chemistry between her and Luke...
Told from alternating POVs of Luke and Margot, this was a fun (steamy) read set in Napa Valley. There was a lot of frustration with the main characters not being honest from the get-go, but overall, the setting and characters were easy to fall into. Anytime Jasmine Guillory writes something, I read it! She usually has diverse characters set in my favorite place (the Northern Bay Area) with a lot of descriptions of food. 90% of the drama could've been solved in a few moments so overall a 3.5 rounded to 4. I liked it, but just being nit-picky about the conversations that should have happened with both MCs and their families and the climax was just meh.

Jasmine Guillory is a very popular author, one whose books I didn’t think I liked that much. Her latest, Drunk on Love, has proved me wrong. This story is about Margot Noble who owns and runs an inherited winery along with her brother. She meets a charismatic younger guy while visiting her favorite bar in Napa. Luke Williams is looking for a fun temporary job after quitting his high-pressure tech position in Silicon Valley. The chemistry between them is undeniable and they end up spending a hot night together. Little did either of them know they would meet again the next morning as Luke was the newest employee of Noble Winery and Margot was now his boss.

Was this book predictable? Sure, but it was also charming and so enjoyable. Margot was feisty and Luke’s character was sexy and loveable.

Forever will adore the characters and worlds that Jasmine creates! And no one can do food/wine/dessert descriptions like her.

This was just an okay story to me. I didn't really connect with either characters. No spark leapt up to me. I did like the winery story though and the setting. I just wish it was a bit more.

I am a huge, huge Jasmine Guillory fan and normally devour her books as soon as I can get my hands on them. This time, life got away from me and I'm reading this one a few months later. In her latest romcom, we meet winery co-owner, Margot, who has an amazing night with Luke, who's recently moved back to the area. But the next day, before Margot has even decided whether to call him again, they discover that Luke is Margot's new employee, working in the tasting room and hired by her brother while Margot was away meeting with buyers. The two have an undeniable connection, but the small age gap (Margot is 6-7 years older) and their boss-employee relationship are hurdles for the pair.

Guillory excels at writing truly likable leads that seem like people you want to be friends with or in a relationship with. Max of Party of Two was my favorite book boyfriend for a while, but now Luke may have stolen the crown. Honestly, there's seemingly nothing wrong with him and I wish I could have him all for myself! This book had a natural progression and a fun setting. It feels more like Guillory's original series, before While We Were Dating and By the Book--a few characters even make a brief cameo--and I am here for the return.

Thanks to Berkley for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book will be another hit with fans of Jasmine Guillory's characters and stories. With thoughtful, well rounded and deeply written characters, this not your usual romance, but a deeper and more satisfying story of finding love.

Another fun and well-done romance from Jasmine Guillory. I really enjoy the way she weaves her characters' lives and how she has them grow throughout the books.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

Jasmine guillory does it again! I was a bit worried when she ended her previous series since I’d invested in all the characters, but turns out she can start a new one just fine. The premise of employer employee romance was lovely and this one just rocked.

CW: family tensions, death of a loved one (past), toxic relationship (past, side character), racism in the workplace (past)

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

-m/f contemporary romance
-age gap
-one night stand
-work place romance
-forced proximity
-insta attraction
-forbidden romance elements

This was such an enjoyable read. I adored Margot and Luke's dynamics. How we saw them become friends, not just lovers. how neither truly hid their attraction for the other as they figured out if this was something more than a hot one night stand. How this book didn't shy away from the work place dynamics as Margot was Luke's boss for awhile.

This was just a great set up, your hot one night stand from the night before ends up being your employee. These two burned hot and I just loved Luke. How much he respected Margot, saw something in her, and was just gone on her and had no embarrassment in hiding it. I adored his strong friendship and how close he was with his mom. He was just a genuinely nice guy who completely adored Margot and her drive to make her business better and prove herself. They were a great match.

This was a solid 3-star read. Jasmin Guillory always writes likable characters and low-stakes conflict that make her books sweet and easy to read, but the lack of major conflict in this one made it a bit boring for me.

I’ve enjoyed Jasmine Guillory's other books, so I was excited when I was given access to an arc copy of Drunk on Love. This book was a quick read, but the romance felt a bit lackluster for me. I also was really bothered by not only how predictable it was (though, I suppose a lot of romance is predictable) but how the story seemed somewhat, repetitive. I’ll still read her other books since she’s a good writer, but this one just didn’t hit home for me.

Thank you to Netgalley & Publishers for allowing me access to an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Another super cute and enjoyable read from Jasmine Guillory!

I've always enjoyed Jasmine Guillory's books and this one is no different. I loved the Napa Valley setting and the winery as the centre of the romance. Luke and Margot are absolutely adorable and I loved seeing the way their relationship naturally unfolded with one another. I think it was a solid romance!

Delightful and entertaining love story. I had so much fun reading the book and meeting these characters.I recommend to everyone reading romance novels!

The first half of Drunk on Love was fantastic. The scenes between the two main characters were steamy and charged with emotion. It was the little things like the stolen glances in the tasting room and the details about Margot’s robes that really built up the tension between her and Luke. Also it’s always nice to see romance leads who are Black, so kudos to Jasmine Guillory for providing the necessary BIPOC representation that romance and women’s fiction desperately need. I also enjoyed reading about Luke and Margot’s experiences in their respective fields, giving that they are both Black.

However once they got together, Luke and Margot’s chemistry began to falter. The conflict between them felt very forced, the Avery fake dating storyline was strange and the discussion about how everyone was upset Luke was considering going back to his old job felt out of place. Overall though, I definitely enjoyed reading this book!

Although the characters were likable and the story overall pleasant, some of the book was far too predictable. Many romance novels are formulaic but I found myself getting frustrated with how much this one was. I could almost time out when the characters were going to argue and makeup based on how many pages were left. It was an easy read and had a very sweet happily ever after. But I wish there had something more interesting in the character development.

Jasmine's books are hit or miss with me because they are pretty redundant; however, I have to say this one was a semi hit for me. It had more of a story line that was believable (to an extent). I also like that it has nothing to do with her other books (the series) because it seems less forced

have been a longtime fan of Jasmine Guillory’s writing, and Drunk on Love only reminded me why I love her work! A steamy romance set in Napa Valley, Margot and Luke’s chemistry was undeniable, and I absolutely loved how they meshed together so well as characters.⁣

This is a quick, feel-good read that will have you curling up in a fluffy robe, craving a nice glass of wine as you fly through the pages!

I will read anything Jasmine Guillory publishes! I literally squealed during parts of this book - so good!

This book was only OK. It started out with a fun premise: slightly older woman (Margot) and a slightly younger man (Luke); she's the co-owner of a vineyard and he's one of the workers in the tasting room. When they first get together, Margot doesn't know her brother (and co-owner of the vineyard) hired Luke, but she finds out on Monday morning and realizes they can't let their one night interfere with work.

So far, so good. But it doesn't get any better. The sexual tension is there because both Margot and Luke are upstanding people who don't want to cross lines, but that is it. The larger conflict comes from neither one of them wanting to let other people know about their relationship. I couldn't understand that being the issue. It just doesn't make sense to me that two adults should care that much about what their families think about their dating habits.

As usual, Ms. Guillory's characters are likable and fun. Napa Valley and a family vineyard (Black-owned, too!) was a great setting. I think the story was a little weak, though, and that is why I am only giving 3 stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
