Jasmine Guillory Seems to be a can’t miss author. Every book I have read by her has been terrific. I think it is because she develops her characters so beautifully. They all seem like we could be friends. I did also love the setting of this book. It was so easy to imagine, since I live near one country. Even if you do not live in wine country, I am sure it is easy to envision. A winery is a very romantic setting.

I enjoyed this romance about a night stand turned employee romance. The setting of a Napa winery sounds so nice. The book was a middle of the road for me. I liked Margot and Luke individually but together, I didn't see so much depth. Margot's internally thoughts were very repetitive and made the book drag a bit in the first half of the book.

I enjoyed the dual POV and narration did a great job. Thank you @berkleyromance @prhaudio for a copy of the book.

An intoxicating and sparkling new romance by New York Times bestselling author Jasmine Guillory.

Margot Noble needs some relief from the stress of running the family winery with her brother. Enter Luke: sexy, charming, and best of all in the too-small world of Napa, a stranger. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and Margot is delighted that she lucked into the perfect one-night stand she'll never have to see again. That is, until the winery's newest hire, Luke, walks in the next morning. Margot is determined to keep things purely professional, but when their every interaction reminds her of the attraction still bubbling between them, it proves to be much more challenging than she expects.

Luke Williams had it all, but when he quits his high-salary tech job in Silicon Valley in a blaze of burnout and moves back to Napa to help a friend, he realizes he doesn't want to tell the world--or his mom--why he's now working at a winery. His mom loves bragging about her successful son--how can he admit that the job she's so proud of broke him? Luke has no idea what is next for him, but one thing is certain: he wants more from the incredibly smart and sexy woman he hooked up with--even after he learns she's his new boss. But even if they can find a way to be together that wouldn't be an ethical nightmare, would such a successful woman really want a tech-world dropout?

Set against a lush backdrop of Napa Valley wine country, nothing goes to your head as fast as a taste of love--even if it means changing all your plans.

MY THOUGHTS:

Margot Noble spends the majority of her time at the winery that she runs with her brother. However, one night she literally let her hair down and enjoyed a beautiful one-night stand. Leaving that in her memories, she plans on focuses on the busy winery. She is glad that they will have a couple of new hires as she and her brother are pretty much overworked. Imagine Margot's shock when she discovers that one of those new hires is none other than Luke Williams - her one-night stand.

Business first. In fact, with no plans on crossing any lines Margot is determined to ignore the strong attraction that draws her to Luke. Luke has his own concerns. For one thing he left his high-paying job, in part, because he felt the diversity there was of a token nature, not because of his talent and skills. Luke doesn't know how to tell his mother, as she was always so proud of his education and his job. So, for now, he plans on spending a few months in Napa and enjoying his time working at the winery.

Luke is in the same position as Margot when it comes to the sexual pull that he cannot deny. However, with the career failure that he feels and the temporary nature of his stay in Napa, he doesn't see anything further happening between them.

This heartwarming and often steamy romance by Jasmine Guillory was a delightful read. The characters were wonderful, and their feelings were relatable. I love that they initially found one another and the journey that it took for them to find their way to forever happiness. With a beautiful setting, warm characters and a happy ending, Drunk on Love was a true delight.

Many thanks to Berkley and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Jasmine Guillory does not miss - this book was just as good as her other ones. Sexy, funny, and warm. I absolutely love her writing and her characters.

Jasmine Guillory does it again with another fun loving book! Drunk on Love. Margot Nobile and her brother Elliot run their family's vineyard Nobile Wines. Although the job might sound fun and charming, it is anything but for Margot who is working herself ragged. When her friend dares her to talk to a handsome stranger at a bar, Margot doesn't realize the chain reaction she's starting. Little does Margot know that Luke is the newest employ her brother has hired at the winery. So after an incredible night together, Luke is truly the last person she expects to see when she walks into work the following day. As the two try to deny their crackling chemistry things start to get hectic at the winery with Margot's big event just around the corner.

There is something special about the way Jasmine Guillory crafts her characters. I have yet to read a book of hers where I haven't fallen in love with the primary and secondary characters. I was fortunate to also get access to the audiobook courtesy of PRH Audio and the narration is always stellar too! My one caution about this book is that the romance between Margot and Luke felt younger than some of the other couples Guillory has created. Even their obstacles felt a bit young (or am I just getting old?!). It all felt incredibly surmountable even from the beginning for me that I struggled at times to not just shake them into adulthood. Ultimately, I enjoyed this one and feel so grateful to have now read two NEW books by Jasmine Guillory in 2022. If you haven't read By The Book I also recommend it!

Thank you Berkley Romance, Penguin Random House, and NetGalley for the free copy and to PRH Audio for access to the audiobook! I am really enjoying reading and listening so much this year!

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reading copy! I loved this new release from veteran and popular romance writer Jasmine Guillory: it brought steam, chemistry, sweetness, and was thoughtful about modern issues in the workplace and our relationships with our jobs. Margot inherited half of a Napa valley winery to co-manage with her wine making brother, after her uncle died. But managing a winery with her brother is challenging, so one night she has a one night stand with a young guy in town, Luke, to blow off some steam. But turns out, Luke is a new employee at her winery after leaving a stressful job in the tech industry. Can their steam translate to a long term relationship with all these challenges? I think that the power in Guillory’s writing is that she really gets and can showcase the beautiful intimacies of falling in love. Eating together, falling asleep together, driving in traffic together, just all the little things that help us know one another. Another thing I liked about this book is that both Margot and Luke are struggling in different ways with work and life balance. Margot has imposter syndrome at managing a winery (though she’s great at her job), while Luke faced pretty severe microaggressions in his tech job. Both of course get happy endings, but I also think the way Guillory depicts these plotlines is well done and thoughtful. Overall I recommend this sweet and fun book to fans of Guillory, contemporary romance, and Black love stories.

Jasmine Guillory has yet to write a book I don't completely love! She has the magic touch because she was able to write characters who are completely heartwarming and weaving in little funny moments that created a wholesome story. This was genuinely such a fun story and made my romance loving heart extremely happy!

This was such a fun read! Jasmine, once again, expertly weaves heartfelt moments with laugh out loud ones. The spice, chemistry, and swoon worthy sexual tension had me tearing through this book.

Much thanks to PRHAudio for the complimentary audiobook and NetGalley for an early digital copy of this latest Jasmine Guillory book in exchange for my honest review.

Sadly this one night stand, forbidden workplace romance was just an okay read for me. I wished Bahni Turpin had been the narrator (she's done most of the author's other audiobooks). The narration by Heidi Franklin and Ryan Vincent Anderson just wasn't the same level for me. Story wise though, this one was enjoyable I just found it a little bland and didn't have a whole lot of conflict/chemistry to keep me super interested. I did like learning more about running a winery and loved that it was a Black-owned business. Beautiful cover too!

Ohh this may be my new favorite from the author, I really enjoyed this sexy, flirty and fun book! I was initially drawn to the winery side of the plot, I just knew it would be such a fun and beautiful setting and it definitely was. I was instantly connected to Margot as she was incredibly likable and I was into the fact that she was older than Luke. Workplace romances are always interesting and since Margot and Luke decide not to pursue a romantic relationship because she’s his boss that added a engaging dynamic. Their chemistry was undeniable and seeing them struggle to keep things professional added to their sexual tension. Lots of spice in this one, also some tender and genuine moments too, overall a really great light romance read.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.

I requested an eARC of Drunk on Love based on my love of Jasmine Guillory's Wedding Date series and how much I loved By the Book. I adore her writing and how she handles plot-related conflict. I also love how she bucks the current trend of having multiple major plot points happen in the last 20 or so pages, with no on-page resolution, instead having those plot points happen 50+ pages from the end, allowing for resolution, which makes for better stories.

As for Drunk on Love, I found that it had an exceptionally slow start. It had a wonderful plot and I really liked the characters, but the characters and the plot could not overcome the slowness of the story. It was just far too slow. I really love Jasmine Guillory's work, so I pushed past my initial impression of too slow for a few more chapters. Hoping it was just a blip on my end, I decided to pause it for a few days, and start another book. However, I found that once I put it down, I wasn't really interested in picking it back up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the eARC.

I enjoyed this story. It was not one of my favorites from this author but it was a good overall story. I like seeing the relationship develop between Margot and Luke. When they first meet after their one-night stand at Margot winery I enjoyed being able to see the reaction that each had and their struggle trying to do the right thing. I like the reconciliation between Margot and her brother and wished that they had talked soon so that each knew where they stood with each other. Overall it was a good book and I can't wait for Jasmine Guillory's next book.

Jasmine Guillory is always a must-read for me. Drunk on Love takes us to Napa where Margot Noble is the co-owner of Noble Family Vineyard, much to her brother's dismay who is the other owner. After inheriting the winery Margot moves back to Napa and often finds herself eating supper at the bar of her friend's restaurant. While eating gentleman comes and sits next to her and they eventually hit it off. One thing leads to another and they determine who lives closet to the restaurant. The next morning while the new hires are being trained one of them looks quite familiar, and that person happens to be the same person from the night before or should I say morning.

Drunk on Love is a strangers-to-lovers contemporary romance, the latest from Jasmine Guillory. The morning after a one night stand with a stranger, Margot Noble, co-CEO of the Noble Family Vineyard, is astonished to see that Luke, the sexy stranger, is the new hire in the tasting room. What follows is a sweet and sexy story, with a healthy dose of mutual pining and delayed gratification.

I enjoyed this book. It was notably steamier than Guillory's previous work, which was a pleasant surprise. I found the pacing to be a little uneven. Despite the instant attraction and intense chemistry between Luke and Margot, the development of the relationship feels like a bit of a slow burn. The conflict and resolution are contained to the last five chapters of the book. Said conflict largely boiled down to failures of communication (my least favorite kind). Even so, it was a fun story. There's also a brief cameo of familiar characters, for fans of Guillory's Wedding Date series.

I really loved this book, it was perhaps my favourite Jasmine Guillory book so far. In this story, we follow Margot and Luke. Margot Noble runs and owns an inherited winery, in Napa Valley with her brother. She works a lot and after a work trip stops in at her favourite bar and meets a charismatic younger guy. Even though she's not really open to dating or meeting anyone, she's urged by her friend and sparks fly with Luke.

Luke Williams is looking for a fun temporary job after quitting his high-pressure tech position in Silicon Valley. He's a local that has come back to town to reset.

After meeting at the bar and spending the night together the next morning they meet again as they learn that Luke is the newest employee of Noble Winery and Margot is now his boss.

Workplace romances can be well complicated so the couple decides not to pursue anything since she’s his boss but we get to watch as they try to deny their chemistry and keep it professional. I loved the sexual tension in this book as well as the beautiful tender moments. I loved Margot's sass and feistiness and Luke was very lovable. A very sweet romance that kept me turning the page

The queen of romance strikes again! Jasmine is an autobuy author for me! I loved this book. The way she writes everyday people, and makes them fall in love.... makes me believe anything is possible. Such a good, fall read!

I was so excited to hear this author had a new series starting, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by them. I enjoyed that it took place at a winery, since I haven’t read any surrounding one. The descriptive writing made me feel like I was there.

Margot was such a professional business woman when it comes to the family winery. The fact that she lets loose once and it becomes this big issue for her made me genuinely feel for her. Luke was one of my favorite love interests I have ever read. He was so humble and sweet, I was rooting for him the whole time.

Jasmine has a way of writing the most wonderful spicy scenes. Her writing style in general is amazing, descriptive, without boring me. I also really enjoyed seeing the family dynamics of Margot and Elliot throughout the book.

I had read Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and The Proposal a few years back and was excited to read Drunk on Love! It has a completely new set of characters (at least to me anyways), and I found the setting of California Wine Country quite fun! Drunk on Love is one of those romance tropes where two people that want to be together can’t be together due to circumstances (sprinkled with a bit of miscommunication).

In this specific case, Margot Noble, who owns the Noble Winery with her brother, happens to be(come) a boss to Luke, former-Silicon-Valley techie who is currently going through a quarter life crisis. Margot and Luke are such likable characters. Everyone in the book (except for one single person) really is, which makes Drunk on Love a fun and lighthearted romance book that I wanted it to be. My only (and very minor) compliant is that I feel like the title and the book cover do not encapsulate the premise and energy of the book.

I love Jasmine Guillory. I will read anything she writes. This just solidifies my feelings for her. She writes relatable characters that don’t make readers feel like they need to be 6 feet tall and 100 pounds for someone to find them attractive. She makes readers feel like being a real person is okay.
