Well written with a compelling and believeable storyline and well developed characters taht were relatable and likable. I really enjoyed this read and couldn't put it down.

I enjoyed getting to know Alex in this book, Happyish by Jeannette Escurdero. I found Alex, the main character, to be very relatable, I was routing for her throughout the book as she dealt with devastating health news..

This was an extremely well written book that I connected with. It was interesting and held my interest throughout the story. Makes you realize how quickly life can change. Happyish is heartfelt book that I would absolutely recommend to other readers. Thank you Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.

Alex is a divorced woman. She has a great job, good friends, is over her divorce, life could be good. But then karma laughs and in th blink of an eye nothing is anymore as it was.
She has a journey ahead of her. A difficult, long road to travel.
This slow burn is raw and gritty, heartwrenchingly beautiful that gives all the feels. Grips with both hands and doesn't let go. Outstanding.

Alex Martinez is moving on with her life. Today is her “divorceaversary” and she’s going to celebrate with her best friends. But first she’s consulting with a neurologist about her recent headaches. Diagnosed with a brain tumor that might or might not be benign, her world is thrown into a tailspin. Her boss encourages her to take a vacation and she decides to adventure solo to places she and her deceased sister once dreamt of visiting together.

This story touches on several scary situations that could or do affect all of us in our real lives. Alex is forced to confront her fears and grief and to accept help from her friends and family. All this sounds like it could be a real downer, but it wasn’t. I enjoyed reading of Alex’s vacation journeys and her journey back to health and love.

Alex has been divorced for a year and is celebrating it. Although she has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour and feels as though she is completely tanking at work so that's putting a dampener on things. In light of this she decides to take the trip of a lifetime.

This had a great cast of supporting characters - I especially loved the Travelling Gals and was hoping to see more of them. The descriptions of the holiday destinations were very vivid and it was fun to see a few different types of trip rolled into one. Especially the zip lining in the jungle.

I do feel there was a bit much going on here though. Between the brain tumour, the stuff with her job, the holiday, the romance, it all felt a bit much at times.
