I found this book really helpful as a reference while I was working in HR.
Easy to read and find what exactly it is you are looking for

This book comes at the perfect time as organizations struggle with how to pivot again as we move from fully remote to a new hybrid way of working. This is unchartered territory for many of us and no guidebook exists to capture lessons learned until now. Gary Cookson's book comprehensively captures all the key areas and considerations of moving into a new normal. Organizations are confronting long-held assumptions about work and "where work happens." As an OD practitioner at the American Medical Association, we too are "building the plane as we fly it." The structure of this book is makes it a handy "go-to" guide as we build our own playbook - each chapter begins with a shorter read, then a longer read, a case study with reflection questions and then an action plan. As a visual learner, I also appreciate the visual Sketchnote summary at the end of each chapter. I have already used some of these ideas and reflection questions to facilitate discussions with our leaders. This book covers topics such as leveraging technology, employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle, wellbeing, inclusion and belonging, learning and development and job crafting. I also really appreciate the emphasis on organizational development capabilities as being critical to helping with this change and redesign effort. There is a chapter dedicated on building the capabilities for HR professionals for the new normal As a bonus, in a chapter called "Spaces and Places", there is a table capturing individual organization's lessons learned (What has worked, what has not, what changes need to be made, how are you ensuring people and the organization don't slip back into old ways of working).

I highly recommend this practical and comprehensive guide to all leaders and HR professionals who are forging a new path in how we work.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kogan Page for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
