Valotton's book stands as a rallying call for the present generation of disheartened men who often feel disconnected. Many among us have grown weary of the church's inability to lead us into our divinely appointed purpose. This book responds to our plea, addressing the urgent need to pass down the Father's legacy to the boys and men of today. It's a must-read, offering profound insights into the path we must tread.

Uprising

I am reviewing a copy of Uprising through Chosen Books and Netgalley:

This generation is facing an unprecedented battle!

The role of a Father is one of the most influential roles in a person's life.

But there are an unprecedented number of men are abandoning this noble calling. Due in part to this we have seen a rise in violence and poverty on the rise, families broken and a lost generation immersed in immorality and corruption.

This powerful book by bestselling author Kris Vallotton reveals that the war for culture starts with the battle for men's hearts. With passion and insight, he gives men the tools they need to unlock the full potential of their souls, eradicate the orphan spirit and fully step into their God-given destinies.

Now is the time for an epic awakening that unites generations, inspires change and empowers the hearts of men. It's time for men to become mighty again, restoring fractured families and unleashing life in a culture of death.

I give Uprising five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

From the beginning, author Kris Vallatton establishes authority with his “Uprising” readers. He opens the door to his own trauma and to a gym filled with orphaned kids. We are immediately captivated by his eyewitness stories. Intertwined between rebellion and authority, the author identifies the mindset of people abandoned by their fathers.

Motivated by Malachi 4, Isaiah 61, and a personal vision, Mr. Vallatton proposes a new mission for this generation. He envisions God taking “the broken, the oppressed, the feeble, the captives and the prisoners, healing and commissioning them, and rebuilding the ruined cities of the world.” This viewpoint of revival calls forth an uprising within the family structure. He warns readers not be dependent on political, education, social, and celebrity value systems to mentor a fatherless generation.

Backed primarily with NASB Scripture verses, “Uprising” by Kris Vallatton preaches transformation. He identifies the issue of emotional, financial, and spiritual abandonment in our culture. He quickly rocks the boat on feminism and manhood. His viewpoint might be considered old-fashioned by some and refreshing by others. He elaborates, “men and women are equally powerful but distinctly different.” He references the Bible as the source of differences and equality. Modern journalists will bite back on his “Uprising” book due to separation of genders.

Mr. Vallotton writes from a strong posture as he tackles social issues. He pushes the pendulum towards conservative thought. His intolerance of the sexual revolution is not hidden. Using the stronghold of offense as a spiritual tool, and the Word of God as a sword, Mr. Vallotton boldly pushes back against temptation and sin. He does not water down his message or tickle the ears of his reader.

This book unpacks parenting errors and restructures parenting skills for a generation raised on participation trophies. He encourages accountability from parents and children, with rites of passage into manhood or womanhood. Reading this book from a worldview perspective will certainly offend the reader. Reading this book from a Biblical view will also offend the reader.

As a book reviewer I am uncertain if the book is timely. Is the Church ready to be offended, or still lukewarm? Perhaps he is writing this book for his grandchildren and generations to follow. Perhaps he is leaving a sociological footprint about the corruption of moral values and how to prevent this in the future. This book is interesting and thought provoking, written in boldness.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of the book from Netgalley.
