I wanted to enjoy these stories more, but I just didn't really click with any of them. I'm not sure why, but they felt like they were missing something (or I was missing something). Maybe because they are shorts and I wanted more world building and character development? I think they had promise, but ultimately didn't work for me.

Denying the alpha is a compilation of shifter short stories where the alphas find their mates! Perfect for anyone looking for some quick reads and guarantee HEA's. With shifters of every kind throughout the whole book nothing is missing! I enjoyed everybook in this collection. They were quick reads so there chracters has instalove and a quick ending with no break up in between (besides some light questioning of the relationship).

Anthology of short reads by numerous authors. Paranormal alpha males, meet their mates and fall in love. Stories of bears wolves, dragons, and many more fighting and conquering the love that exists between them. Overall a great read!

I am a sucker for a good anthology and this one kept me engaged the whole time! Each story was unique and interesting. There is something for everyone here, dragons, wolves, elves, and bears (oh my!). fresh, fun and spicy. suspense, adventure, danger! Check it out!

Title: Denying the Alpha and Anthology
As with most anthologies, some books absolutely recked me by how much I enjoyed it, while others left me luke warm at best.
BUT, if you like protective, possessive alpha-holes and the females that brings them to their knees this anthology is for you! I can read shifter romances until I am gray and I will still enjoy the feelings these types of books and tropes invoke in me.
Seriously, if you're looking for a compilations of books that are enjoyable and really just hits the spot for the shifter craving, get this anthology and scratch that itch.

I'm not usually good at reading anthologies, but this one found a way to keep me engaged through the whole thing.
Each story has a unique flavor of shifter/alpha/mate scenario that kept it feeling fresh but connected through the book. I'm pretty sure there is something for everyone in here at some point. There's dragons, wolves, reluctant, enthusiastic, extra smutty, light smut, and everything in between. While I didn't finish this book with any authors particularly standing out, I did enjoy reading each one for different reasons. I'd recommend this for some bite-sized stories you can enjoy on a break.

There are many many great short stories all rolled up in the awesome book. They do begin to blur together but you will not be disappointed. I truly enjoyed these stories.

This paranormal anthology has a good mix of stories ranging from various types shifters to MC's to elves and dragons. There's magic, danger, adventure, suspense, angst as well as heat and each story is by a different author or group of authors. Anthologies like this are great because you can read stories by authors you are familiar with and follow but also try out new authors in one go!

I received an advanced review copy through Netgalley and Evernight and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is a great collection of paranormal novellas that are full of action, romance, mystery, and intrigue.

So this is an anthology and if you aren't very familiar with that style of book, it basically is a collection of stories by a variety of authors.
This happens to be multiple stories that all involve romance/smut with shifters. Some were about two different types of shifters and their romance and others were about humans with shifters. There was one with fae and dragons, etc.
So there were some stories that I really enjoyed and some that I honestly had to convince myself not to skip. I really did enjoy Crossing Boundaries which was about a wolf and cougar. The smut was good and for a story that is only like four chapters long, I thought that author did a good job with pacing and giving the characters depth. I was attracted to both main characters and I thought the story was interesting.
Other ones, like The Librarian and Her Dragon felt cringy and off paced. I didn't really love that the librarian turned out to be a dragon all of a sudden. But more importantly, I didn't like how she found out. It felt unrealistic.
Then there are ones like Caleb or Guarding What's Hers that I thought were okay but nothing special. I read them purely for the physical aspects.
Still, this was something I'd read late at night if I wanted something quick. There were some good gems within this and a good option for someone who wants to pick something up and drop it to pick it up later again.

Shifters of all varieties all finding their alpha mates - a great variety of situations and heat. I normally don't go for short stories, but there were all winners here - some I wished were longer they were so engaging! Highly recommended if you like shifters with a burn!

This is a collection of a lot of different short stories. Each story is really good as a stand-alone, I will admit that the stories started to run together as they all have a very similar plotline. This is a great book to read when you only have pockets of time - I enjoyed going through a whole story in a sitting. I do wish there was a little more variety in the compilation, but I suppose the book does have a theme and it truly sticks to it!

Denying the Alpha is a fabulous collection of fast-paced, adrenaline fuelled and action-packed romances with something to satisfy every readers palate. An exciting and seamless collaboration between these talented authors has provided many hours of fantasy escape and entertainment.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Evernight Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is an anthology. It has 9 different, unrelated short stories. All are paranormal romances, and I enjoyed them all. I had a blast laughing at these stories. Overall a great read. 4 stars
