I have read every Lynsay Sands book, and this one is fantastic! Despite it being number 35 in the series it still has a fresh and compelling plot.

Lynsay Sands 35th installment of the Argeneau series and it somehow feels new and comfortably old at the same time. Her new characters have a fresh voice and generally you get a glimpse into some of the old characters that you've read years prior. I'll always take time to read a novel from Lynsay Sands and I encourage you to do the same!

Here we have Valerian, taking a well-deserved rest at a golf course in Canada, owned by his future lifemate, Natalie. While the first part of this book allows them to find their connection in a semi-lazy fashion, the rest of the book amps up returning us to Sands signature fast-paced action-packed story telling. Natalie has a tragic backstory which leaves her reluctant to even consider a relationship with Valerian, but as we all know, you can't keep a good lifemate down.

As usual, it's a great read with action and new love, but also some favorite characters in the mix. While Lynsay Sands has had over-arching storylines in the past that span books - where you can't miss one or you might be a little loss - her latest books have been standalones if you're looking for somewhere to jump in and test the waters.

My opinion is my own and freely given.

Another solid entry in the Argeneau series with a sprinkle of hints for even more pairings to come. Thirty-five books in and I still love this series and Lynsay Sands’ hilarious paranormal romances.

Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for my copy to review.

Can Linsay Sands do any wrong? Valerian was totally dreamy and my kind of guy. Vampire and mortal combo never gets old and Linsay Sands handled is perfectly.

35 books in and you'd think maybe it could get old or stale.... Honestly, "After Bite" is still just a fun and sexy read. Lynsay Sands still knows how to keep you interested and entertained. The banter is funny and witty, the characters are charming and enticing. You still want the good guys to win and find love.

Another thing I love - You can pick this up and not feel like you have to start all the way at the beginning to understand what is going on! Given that my memory is shot and I don't recall all the details of all the books over the last two decades, this is huge! I didn't feel lost or like I was missing huge plot lines or anything like that.

Perhaps part of the love is the nostaliga? I'm not sure... It didn't WOW me like some other books might but it was a great comfort read - I knew I would love it, I knew it would make me happy and feel good and that it would not disappoint.

I really enjoyed this story. I love the series and this one was just as enjoyable as previous stories. The heroine is a single mother trying to make a success out of a business she inherited. She has big plans to expand her business, an 18 hole golf course.. Valerian is a customer, who book at sunset to play 18 holes, never saving money by becoming members that will help her thrive. This puts him in the perfect position to solve who is trying to sabotage her. The story brought back many favorite characters. It was hard to put down.

This was a fun book added to the Argeneau series - the characters never cease to entertain and the plot twists keep you flipping the pages as fast as you can!
I highly recommend this series to all readers who enjoy stories with bite! 😉

After the Bite is the 35th installment in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. I personally enjoy a long running series because I like to see the old characters and meet the new characters. Lynsay Sands almost, always provides characters that I love. As usual, Lynsay Sands provides amazing characters, steamy sex scenes, and some pretty great dialogue.

This is the story of Valerian, an immortal enforcer, who has come to Canada to relax and do some golfing. At the golf course is where he meets Natalie, the owner of the golf course, and his lifemate. Natalie has lead a tragic life. She lost her "husband" in a car accident along with their son and then discovered he had another family. She now works hard to build her golf course and raise her daughter. When her life is in jeopardy, Valerian is there to keep her safe.

Valerian and Natalie had wonderful chemistry and a lively banter. I loved that both of the characters were intelligent and strong. We get to see several of the characters from previous books and it was as exciting as the previous books in the series. I would highly recommend this installment.

I was provided and ARC by NetGalley for an honest review of the materials.

Enjoyed this book. Not as much as some of the others in the series but still a great read
I would've like more story there at the end. Its not a cliff-hanger but it did feel unfinished

while this is the 35th installment in a series it can absolutely be read as a standalone. as with any fantasy, it takes a moment to learn the characters, the worlds, everything but this was incredibly well done.

this is a slowburn (technically open door but super mild) paranormal romance between MC Valerian who is a good-guy vampire vigilante-type character who loves golf and FMC Natalie who is an over-worked single mother who is being stalked by a killer.

there is mystery, romance, great characters- both main characters and side characters, amazing world building- i loved the take on vampires, and an HEA.

a super quick, easy read with a great story

After the Bite is the 35th installment in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands! I started reading these novels back in the early 2000's and it's still a fun read when we get a new book in this world. I enjoyed this book and would recommend the series to anyone that likes paranormal or vampire romance.

Continuing in the series I started reading over 1t5 years ago, After the Bite follows Valerian, an enforcer in Canada, and Natalie, a golf course owner. As with the whole Argeneau series, the two are life mates, however, will Natalie’s threats on her life keep her from becoming an immortal? Will her past family and young daughter keep her from being vulnerable and accepting help from Valerian? As usual this was a quick read from Lynsay Sands and I’m glad we are done with the Island that dominated the series for a bit. If you like Atlanta+Science=kind of like vampires people finding love this is the series for you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5

After the Bite by Lynsay Sands is book 35 in the Argeneau Series. This is the story of Valerian and Natalie. Valerian is the Immortal Enforcer which is a hard job. This last assignment he went on has really taken it from him and golf has been is stress relief. This is where he meets Natalie and has enjoyed watching her. Natalie is a single mother of daughter Mia and is cautions about relationships. This starts their story. I am a huge fan of this author. Loved it.

I have read every book in this series and still wish they could get back to the romance and humor of those first 10 or so books but the last few while entertaining are not memorable stories like those first one and are soon forgotten for the most part. This one was no "can't put it down" story but it was enjoyable even though you knew who the killer was before you got out of the first 2 chapters. I am going to keep this short and say if you are a reader of the series this is a decent story but more of a murder mystery and about a dozen cameos with a very small helping of vampire romance on the side. I give it 4 Stars since I still love the series but I think nostalgia brings me back more than desire to read the new stories that seem much the same book after book.

I'll admit it: I was skeptical when I read the blurb for this one. Valerian... and golf? I never really had the opportunity to love Valerian in previous books, and golf has never really interested me, so I went into this Argeneau book cautiously optimistic.

But I shouldn't have been worried. Sands always has a way of sucking me into her stories (pun intended), and Valerian and Natalie's story was no different.

After the Bite picks up four months after Stephanie and Thorne's story in Immortal Rising. It's been quiet for the Enforcers, and Valerian has been spending his sunsets teeing up to pass the time. So many of the Immortals we love end up finding their life mates while out on an action-packed, dangerous mission, so I loved that Valerian was able to find his in a moment of relaxation. Of course, those quiet moments on the golf course don't stay that way for Natalie and Valerian, but I quite enjoyed seeing more of the Immortals during their downtime.

As usual, Sands gives us plenty of references to previous books/characters while also making Natalie and Valerian's story unique to them. For a while, Sands gave us an over-arcing plot that ran from book to book, making it impossible to get the full story if you skipped around or missed a book. But we are officially back to self-contained Immortal plots; readers can definitely read After the Bite without having picked up the previous book and still understand the action within this story.

After the Bite was a fun, binge-able read that gave us an insight into how Immortals spend their free time that we don't see in many Argeneau books. I loved getting to know Valerian better, and especially loved seeing him interact with Natalie's daughter. This was a great addition to the Argeneau canon, and I can't wait to see what comes next for the Immortals and our favorite Enforcers.

3.5 stars rounded up.

Valerian MacKenzie works hard during the week at his job as an immortal Enforcer. On the weekends he just wants to relax and loves to play golf as a way to destress. When he meets Natalie Moncrief, the club’s owner, he’s very interested in the single mom and her adorable daughter, Mia. Natalie is leery of any relationship and afraid to trust. Valerian is understandably concerned about how she might react to learning the truth about him being an immortal and decides to attempt to woo her the old-fashioned way.

Nothing goes to plan right from the beginning as it becomes apparent that someone is stalking Natalie with the intention of killing her and Valerian is afraid he’ll lose his life mate when he’s just found her.

This series is always a nice escape from reality for me and this installment was no different. The initial few chapters are pretty slow and got a bit bogged down in daily routine minutiae for me, but I enjoyed the MCs’ scenes together and Valerian’s extended family and friends were lovely supporting characters as always. This was a great, quick read for fall, and I enjoyed the suspense elements of the story, especially Valerian’s protectiveness of Natalie. It was an easy story to become invested in once it got going, and my only real issue was the pacing. Natalie and Valerian didn’t really get all that much alone time together between her workaholic nature, the attempts on her life, and her daughter taking up a good bit of their page time together, not to mention her being very slow to allow Valerian to speak frankly with her and explain who and what he was. Thanks to this issue, the ending felt extremely rushed to me and everything was wrapped up very quickly. Though it was still a satisfying conclusion, I was left wanting just a little more completion, especially with regards to how everything will work out with Mia. Otherwise, I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to antics from other characters in this world.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was my first read by Lynsay Sands. It had an intriguing and really interesting premise. I like that it started by getting right to the ;ot of the book. All of the characters were likeable in their own way. I really enjoyed the perspectives of both Valerian and Natalie throughout the book - which is nice because I usually don't enjoy alternating perspectives that much.

The book kept me engaged throughout with a strong beginning and interesting plot. The writing keeps you hooked. This is the only book that I have read in this series - and even so, I did not feel like I was missing out on information from not reading the earlier books. I also really enjoyed the side characters - which made me want to read their own stories!

This was a solid story - however - the ending did feel somewhat rushed to me and had me wondering if it could have been a little longer and more detailed. Overall, I felt that this was a solid, entertaining paranormal romance.
