It was fun and a super enjoyable read for me as reading it felt like a journey that I really loved. The main characters were fun. But what I really liked the most was the angst, banter and the palpable chemistry!!! Also, at times it quite reminded me of something wilder.

This was an amazing afternoon read for me. I really liked the storyline, it was predictable yet fun to read about. The MCs were super entertaining. I also loved their love. But most importantly I really loved their character growth and development towards the end.

I'll be honest and say that I wasn't thrilled with the premise of the book before I started reading. I wasn't so sure about the whole animal/zoo angle, But I was SO WRONG. I read the Rea's The Wedding Ringer a little while ago and it was a great read - but I don't remember it being especially funny. But Lucy on the Wild Side is a RIOT!
Kerry Rea is HILARIOUS!!! There were many (many!) instances where I had to do the "look around and see if anyone is noticing me" scan because I literally snorted. out loud. in public.
Lucy is the kind of awkward that just endears you to her right away. And the banter between Lucy and Kai? *chef's kiss!* so good!!

Lucy's struggles are authentic and relatable and it's clear that she works to open her heart. I laughed and cried and laughed some more. I wanted to knock some sense into her at times - because Kai?! COME. ON. But I get that she was struggling. I love that LOTWS wasn't an "insta-love" situation and that slow burn is ON.POINT.

When Lucy yells, "Keep Beyonce's name out of your mouth!" I lost it. Hands down one of my favorite lines. But seriously - the whole book was full of so many one liners that had me laughing out loud. Sometimes when the description of a book reads, "Laugh-out-loud rom com" I have to roll my eyes and think "yeah... no." But with Lucy on the Wild Side, the description holds true.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group, Berkley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
