I absolutely loved this book! I am a big fan of Debbie Mason and have been loving this series. This is the fifth book in the Highland Falls series. I swear it just keeps getting better as we go along.

This book is the perfect autumn read! The cover is perfect, and what’s inside screams fall as well. There’s such great descriptions of food, fall festivals, and just the setting. It’s such a cute and cheesy story, you won’t want to put it down. All the characters in it are amazing as well. I highly recommend checking this series out!

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I have liked other books in this series but liked this one the least. There were too many twists and turns and unrealistic characters, such as the unprofessional therapist.

AT HOME ON MARIGOLD LANE by Debbie Mason

The best selling author, Debbie Mason, delivers a touching romance where one woman gets a second chance with her first love. True love deserves a second chance.

This novel had a lot of drama. I enjoyed this book. It had many twists and turns, but was very refreshing. I recommend this book.

This one was a doozy! I love Debbie Mason, and this is no exception in the long run. But hoo boy, did I want to throw my kindle a few times while reading this. I absolutely LOATHE Raine (which I'm sure I'm supposed to, but it was positively visceral), and the whole fake married definitely going to blow up in their faces thing was just a little painful because I can't imagine a situation like that being easy for anyone. In the long run, I really enjoyed this - the reunion between Cal and Bri is so sweet. Well done!

In Debbie Mason’s At Home on Marigold Lane, the fifth installment in the Highland Falls contemporary romance series, this beautiful romance novel captures a second-chance romance with the best friend’s brother trope perfectly in this lovely love story. It would make your heart sigh and weep with tears of joy. It all started for Brianna MacLeod, who had escaped a violent husband and tumultuous marriage, and had also struggled with the pain from a terrible fall she had almost died from, a year ago. She couldn’t sleep at night and didn’t feel good about herself. But when she ran into her ex-fiance from a decade ago, Dr. Caleb Scott, at the grocery store, it brought up painful memories of their broken engagement. If it wasn’t for Cal and his wife Raine, they helped save her life. But this old flame didn’t die hard for Cal, when he was stuck in a marriage of convenience with Raine, and dealing with his moody step-daughter Izzy. While he helped Bri deal with her medical issues, he couldn’t help wondering what ifs with her, and have a second chance. But they needed to put it on hold until they received the funding for a new trauma center–things couldn’t be harder than it looked and seemed in that small town. While they tried to keep their burning feelings under wraps, it became harder to do until someone found out and exposed them. Caught between a rock and hard place, Bri couldn’t deal with the heartache until she needed time for herself to sought things out and tell Cal how she felt about their happy ending.

This tear-jerking contemporary romance will put your heart on an emotional roller coaster ride and pull your heart strings. I instantly cared about Bandri how she would deal with her pain and how she could be more dependent on herself. I also how she re-bonded with Em, Cal’s sister, to make amends and be best friends again. I also adored Cal, who had a full plate on his hand, while he kept his emotions in check. He wanted to do the right thing for the trauma center and Izzy, when he needed to put Bri first and foremost to get the happy ending they deserved. The picturesque autumn landscape of Highland Falls was lovely for the scenic settings along the Blue Mountains Region. The theme of the story is fight for love and those who believe in you.

This beautiful contemporary romance is amazingly wonderful. I rated this book, five out of five stars for no reason. If you love a contemporary romance that has the best friend’s brother trope, plenty of romantic action, and lots of drama to make your heart weep, add At Home on Marigold Lane to your TBR list.. This book is recommended for Hallmark Channel fans, and for fans of Kristan Higgins, Kristen Hannah, and Kate Meader along with many others.

So far I have loved this series "Highland Falls" by Debbie Mason. However, At Home on Marigold Lane is my least favorite. This book follows the story of Brianna and Caleb. The premise of this book is very unrealistic- scam marriages, a therapist acting very unprofessionally, and more. This book's plot just contains too many secrets and shams. Hoping the next one in the series lives up to the first 4 books of Highland Falls. I normally love Mason's books, so it was very disappointing. The one thing I did like was following up on characters from the last books.

At Home on Marigold Lane is a wonderful fall read. Debbie Mason has become a go to author for me. When she comes out with a book I know I need to read it! This one has the same heartwarming and entertaining feel as the others I have read. Mason's characters are always so likeable and the plots are always so captivating. 5 stars!!!

Debbie Mason has remained one of my favorite authors with her previous series, and this cozy fall read fits so well in the Highland Falls series. Makes me wish for such a romance.

This is another book in the Marigold Lane series. They can be read as stand alone, but all are great so I recommend them all, I was provided a copy by Netgalley but the opinions are mine.

This is a good book. The two main characters Bri and Cal. Bri is a family therapist and Cal is a surgeon. They have known each other all their lives. They were once engaged till Bri’s mother broke them up. Several years later Bri has come home. Cal is working at the local hospital. He has been separated from his wife for a year but not telling anyone because of his stepdaughter. Cal and his soon to be ex are trying to get funding for a trauma hospital. Bri and Cal realize they still love each other.

Bri MacLeod has moved back home after escaping an abusive marriage. She suffered a traumatic fall that was never fully explained in the book. Her recovery is taking longer than her surgeons would like. One of her surgeons was her high school sweetheart, and his soon-to-be ex-wife is her other surgeon. This makes a really tough situation.

Cal is in a loveless marriage that is over except for the paperwork. The reason he stays is because of his stepdaughter, whom he loves like a daughter.
Side plot: Cal's sister is a police officer on unpaid leave because of a couple of incidents surrounding her fiancé's death. He goes to where she lives and moves her to Highland Falls. By a stroke of luck, manipulation, or other machinations, his sister, Emma, and Bri have become roommates in a house on Marigold Lane. Emma's and Bri's initial relationship was a bit contentious until they had a chance to hash out what happened to their friendship.

By trade, Bri was a relationship/marriage counselor who felt that her failed marriage disqualified her from practicing. But, Emma needs the help and then Cal's soon-to-be ex wants Bri's advice, and Cal's step-daughter is having a crisis. What Bri doesn't know is that Emma has refiled for Bri's license and set up her business. In all of this Cal and Bri begin to feel the feels they felt for each other so many years ago.

Debbie Mason has populated her book with a plethora of flawed characters who overcome the odds to find their true selves in this very readable book. Four Stars.

When I see a book with fall foliage and a Goldendoodle on the front cover, I know I just have to read it! Luckily, judging this book by its cover was a great idea. I loved this book from the moment I read the first chapter. It had me laughing, and I didn’t want to put it down. This book gives you those cozy, feel good vibes, and this will not be my last Debbie Mason book, in fact, I added all of her books to my wishlist and bought a few of them because I loved this book and it’s characters so much. Cal and Bri are the main characters in this book and I loved watching their relationship grow. Then there was the small town and great friendships, one that was damaged and repaired and others that were lifelong. Cozy up under a warm blanket and enjoy this one, you won’t regret it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and @NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!

I just really enjoy Debbie Mason's books. At Home On Marigold Lane is another entry into the Highland Falls series. Set during autumn, this book follows therapist Brianna MacLeod and trauma surgeon Dr. Caleb Scott. Brianna has come home to Highland Falls after leaving an abusive marriage and having a horrific life altering accident that left her fighting for her life at the hospital. This story follows the second chance love trope. Also, Caleb and his ex Raine are faking a marriage in hopes of raising funds for the hospital to open a level one trauma center. Oh and did I mention that Caleb's sister is Brianna's roommate - Em - who is dealing with some PTSD of her own.

As stated, I really like Debbie Mason and am so glad she wrote a fall book. Seriously, fall is my favorite season and I wish there were more stories of people falling in love against an autumnal backdrop. I flew through Debbie Mason's At Home On Marigold Lane. It's 350 pages and I read basically in a day. I was very invested in Caleb and Bri's relationship - even when different barriers got in the way. Also, I loved that initially I didn't like Raine, but she ended up really growing on me. Complex characters are something I really enjoy when reading -- so I am glad that although Raine made her mistakes, she wasn't a complete stereotype villain.

Brianna has been through a lot mentally and physically and is now dealing with a injury that's made her sister a bit unbearable with her worry. But now she's back on the mend and trying her best to better herself and get out of the family's house unfortunately that means dealing with a roommate. Caleb is pretty much with his wife for show they both know it but it works for what they are doing. Caleb never expected for old feelings to come back for Brianna after breaking her heart and now they are looking for second shot.

This has all those small-town vibes if you love that kinda thing you'll enjoy this, it had the nosey bodies, the gossipers, the sense of community and with a bit of second chance romance. I mean theres the whole issue of Caleb being married and having a stepchild he's raised since birth but it seems his heart wants what it wants. Then theres the whole complication that got him married to his first wife and the benefits with staying with her for however long they need but yea theres going to be a lot of things going on if Brianna and Caleb want to work something out because it seems the fire never died and there was things in the way that made it hard for them to be with eachother in the past. Overall this was a pretty enjoyable read and I really liked it.

I must say this right off the top – I have never been disappointed by the writings of Debbie Mason and At Home on Marigold Lane is no exception. As far as I am concerned – I want to live in Highland Falls. Ms. Mason’s storytelling is so good that I feel like a member of the community, being sad for various community members when things go wrong, happy tears when life goes oh so right, and just coasting by when life is just happening.

At Home on Marigold Lane is the fifth installment of the Highland Falls series and can be read as a stand-alone title. Though I must say – knowing some of the townsfolks add a certain amount to the story. This is a second chance romance with all the right ingredients.

Brianna MacLeod had moved back to Highland Falls a little over a year ago (living at the family’s inn on Mirror Lake) to recover from her divorce from her abusive husband Richard and a near fatal fall. To make things a wee bit harder for Bri – her ex-fiancé Cal (Highland Falls’ Hometown Hero) still lived in Highland Falls as a successful doctor working at the local hospital – and the doctor overseeing a portion of her recovery! In order for Bri’s sister and brother-in-law to finally go on their long-postponed honeymoon – Bri must convince them that she is on solid ground with respect to her recovery (she’s not…but she must pretend). Bri decides moving out on her own will set the stage for making everyone believe she is better. Well, that idea becomes fraught with challenges -> Bri has a roommate in the house she has rented! Who one might wonder? Turns out Bri’s once best friend AND sister of ex-fiance Cal (happily married Cal – or is he?). The story evolves from there… and what a story it is.

I found the story filled with romance (remembering her first kiss with Cal at Bridal Veil Falls for example), lighthearted banter (I can see how Bri and Cal were once good together), and some very funny moments. There are also very serious issues brought up as well – abuse being first and foremost. And having the story filled with hunky doctors is never a bad thing 🙂

There are numerous storylines (above and beyond the romance) that kept me entertained. The challenges Cal and his wife (soon-to-be ex) had with their teenage daughter (Izzy) for one. The recovery of Bri was also well written and kept my interest. Intrigue as to why Brid and Cal’s nuptials were called off is another mystery – which is revealed in due time…

The cover of the book is definitely eye-catching…probably the dog, though I do love the big house with the great wrap-around porch.

All in all – another great addition to the Highland Falls series. If you love a well-told tale that will keep your interest throughout the whole story – then I suggest you pick up At Home on Marigold Lane by Debbie Mason. Though in reality – any title written by Ms. Mason is worth reading, in my humble opinion 🙂
